Yes, the quote is important. Mobile Operation Center is all in caps. It is all a proper noun, a specific thing. Mobile in that context is parts of it's proper name, not necessarily a descriptive word. It's not "mobile Operations Center" in which the word mobile is describing the proper noun "Operation Center".

 

Furthermore the full paragraph is "Stay tuned for more on Gunrunning, including specific business and research opportunities, details on the massive tactical, full-service Mobile Operation Centers complete with new weapon upgrades and deep customization, all new Weaponized Vehicles and more."

 

This paragraph details several new things:

-Specific Business and research opportunities

-Details on the massive Mobile Operation Centers which contain new weapon upgrades and deep customization

-all new weaponized vehicles

 

It does not say "Mobile Operations Center and Other new Weaponized Vehicles" which it would need to if the Mobile Operation Center was a vehicle. If the Mobile Operation Center is a vehicle then Rockstar wrote the sentence grammatically incorrect. Either it's not a vehicle or Rockstar fudged the language of the announcement.

 

It's not "bad reading" as my interpretation is actually proper English.

 

I'm just trying to get people to realize that you all may be on the wrong track.

 

If you believe I am wrong, tell me why and please be specific.

 

We could dive deep into linguistics but at the end of the day, we're all assuming that Rockstar was as careful as us in writing it, which may not be the truth in entirety.

But I like doing it anyway.

 

Mobile Operation Center will be the name of this entity we're getting. Judging solely by the name and a couple minutes of googling, we can estimate it'll be a trailer/bus of sorts.

But there's a couple problems here;

- A vehicle of that size will be ridiculously slow. Driving one around the map will be painful.

- It will be Hydra snack unless it has ridiculous OP AA defenses.

- Standing up in a moving vehicle has notorious clipping issues, thanks to P2P.

Essentially it'll end up as a vanity toy no one uses unless it has great functionality, and by then it'd be just a burden.

 

I personally like to believe that they will surprise us and actually implement a carrier for personal use this time. While "Mobile Operation Center" refers to ground vehicles IRL they have no obligation to keep things realistic. It can still be mobile in the sense that you can move it like the yacht, and maybe even use interchangeably to prevent clutter, and they'd be grammatically correct. Even if they messed up the whole thing and the intern guy wrote the newswire article the words massive and full-service are not something to skim over. They hint something big, weaponized and customized so if it's not the carrier I'm really curious to know what else it is.

Look man I want this carrier, other players don't want it to be over-powered, & Rockstar wants cash. It's simple, make it private (pilotable) & a cool $15 million. Besides its a deep water ship so it can't get even remotely close to LS. Also its the frickin OCEAN how is it possibly going to clutter? No 30 carriers won't happen a max of 2-3 if you want to call up your carrier & its the third one then u got to go to another session. They don't even have to detail anything except the island, just recycle the Luxington. Now we could have epic sea skirmishes just add some other cheap things like mini attack subs and patrol boats. This opens up a new plane, the rich get the ultimate toy, the rest of us try to sink it, & rockstar gets sharkcard . It would be way off in the sea & wouldn't disturb the land lovers, the game won't lag if only the control room has details & the rest is inaccessible. I don't see the difference between it & pegasus just let us sailors be happy in a massive tincan away from the coast having sweet pirating raids on an underused ocean. As massive as it is it's just a pixelated mold, the inside's unaccessible. An AC doesn't even pack heat, just a floating runway with defense guns. It could also host incredible TopGun fights just like racing or Tiny Racers. I see two solutions:

• place aircraft carrier in freeroam but far away from the land, with a bunch of soldiers and missile deference system on. So it's not easier to enter then Fort Zancudo. They could also add random spawn points for every loby so it's harder to find (and it only shows up on map if you get close to it. similar to FZ).
  
• Same mechanics as above but turn it in to a Freeroam event for every one. Stealing military equipment / vehicles or something like that. A place far away for people to play PvP if they want to.

edit: and they could do similar thing with cargoships and npcs yachts. Spawn them randomly far away and make people steal stuff from them. We are getting amphibious vehicles - give us a reason to use them now I say.

If we can have submarines in freeroam I see no reason why an aircraft carrier couldn't be added. There would be a few good aerial battles over the sea in what is essentially just dead space on the map otherwise.

I send my second character there whenever it's available, as she's still yet to get the gold battler trophy for her nightclub office, heh

 

After having cleared out the aircraft carrier, a [email protected] in an avenger turned up and tried to bomb everything, including my character. It was incredibly satisfying watching his Avenger die slowly and the player crash into the sea after unloading a few hundred minigun rounds into it, without them even managing to do my character any damage  Funny that people still haven't learned to think before shooting (my character cleared the ship out solo without dying and my KDR was 6.65 at the time, vs their 0.46)

 

My character was the only one to make it out with (two) weapons crates and deliver them. That trophy cannot come soon enough; it's the only one in the office that isn't gold ':/

No. I think we seen with cayo that nautical addons are a pain in the ass..... i never use my kosatka anymore... the cayo heist got old, QUICK.  Aircraft , same boat.   It would be a bitch to access  and not to mention, what would the point of it, except for lazer? none.  not like you could drive it.
