I couldn't careless about free mode or KD anymore. I do contact missions more then anything else and it's helped me with more than half of my ranking up. Especially during this double rp and money week. I'm level 268 now.

And yeah.. usually ratios of 3 or higher are jet griefers or plain hackers, so i report them both, they deserve it haha.

So you abuse the report feature just because someone is better than you?

Looks like it. You see report-abuse all day in gta...

Like on this site, the report feature has its purpose; however, unlike on this site, Rockstar doubtfully pays any attention to reports.

I never bother looking at other players K/D, unless they are level 8000 , and I look while I am reporting them, hell, I cant tell you what my K/D is right this moment, Since Online is going on four years, and many players are using secondary characters, I no longer judge low level players solely based on their rank. If I care too, I will watch them to get an idea if they might be a noob or a second character.

I have found that it is pretty damn easy to spot the difference between a low level noob and a second character, so there is that.

Being a jet griefer is not being better.. is being annoying.. and the rest that aren't griefers well.. its 1 in 100 that are true good players.. so f*ck it, it's just 1 report, it won't harm them.

Damn right i judge people by their levels, I leave heist lobbies with >100 lvl players and 10/10 they fail getting shot or doing something stupid.

Usually the higher rank they are, the better they are in pvp combat and co-op missions. Basically, the higher the level, the easier it is for me to assume that they know what they're doing. I don't really trust anyone under rank 100.

Being a rank 810 myself, you could say I know a few things here and there ;)

I get that, after a million failed heists I find it hard to trust anyone under 100 also. But it's annoying when you're trying to rank up a second character and no one will let you join their reindeer games.

But I have to agree with the poster who said "Incompetence knows no rank" or something to that effect. I've played missions with high ranked people who acted like rank 20 Rambos and get killed for their efforts. Probably racers.

Its pointless to check one's K/D, in a game like GTA. K/D carries no weight. There are far too many ways this stat can be artificially inflated or even deflated depending on the situation. From spawn killing in jets and tanks, to groups of friends ganging up on one player to farm K/D (amazing how often I saw this), and countless other examples.

Adversary modes muddy the waters even more cause playing one match of Juggernaut for example could result in your K/D either rising dramatically or dropping like a rock, all of which depending on whether you were the Juggernaut for that match or not.

The only way K/D could hold any weight at all is if it were completely overhauled. If it were up to me your K/D would be impacted solely on how well you performed in death matches that have rules and restrictions in place. No tanks, Hydras, grenade/RPG spam, and so on. Its moronic for it to be impacted from events taking place in Free roam, a place where there are no rules and anything goes. If anything, K/D has no place in a game like Grand Theft Auto.

K/D makes sense in a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty as the PvP in those games is structured whilst GTA is just one great big indecipherable mess.

I've been a normal player in Juggernaut and I often don't get killed. Just stay at far enough distance in cover, keep taking out the other normal players and only use grenades against the enemy Juggernaut. That's what your supposed to do. Normal players get grenades which heavily damage the Juggernaut so I often tell my team that 2 normal players hold off the normal enemy team while I throw grenades at the Juggernaut and potshot from cover. I tell our Juggernaut to put mines and run away from the Juggernaut and lure him into a trap so he dies fast.

Only ranks I judge on are the obvious 1500+'s and the rank 300-1500's.

The 1500+'s don't have skill and imo are assholes, so report and kill them.

More than 90% of the people who have gone over 300 are guys who are mostly interested in missions, races etc. and have confidence in their skills that they don't kill you on sight because they're afraid. There are just not that many people out there who made it over 300, let alone 400 or 500, who got there by PvPing in freeroam.

So when I get in a session with just ranks 300-1500, I know it's likely to be a session where people wave instead of shoot when they pass eachother in their CEO buzzards.

Everything up to 300 is just unpredictable. A rank 60 could be a noob, but could just as well be someone's secondary char. A rank 200 can be a casual player, but could also be a hardcore freeroam PvP veteran.

I may have said it before but anyone over 1300 is getting a sideways look. Anyone over that is getting reported for having a modded account and a vote to kick from the room.

I'm lvl 320 and am not interested to kill in freemode and indeed only interseted in doing missions, races and especially heists and adversary modes.

My KDR is 2.02 because I join Entourage and Extractions often.

You do realize that players can be above 1k legit right?

Above 2k right now is not legit but 1k is.

Are you joking or actually ignorance in the flesh ?

Plenty of people on this forum by now are legit level 1000, even more are legit with a kd of 3.

If you are not joking you are pretty much an example of why i think the report button is a very sh*tty function in this game.

I was rank 1 on a new PC account pretty recently, now it's over 150. It was funny how try-hards were surprised at my sniper game: I've got both gamepad and multi-dpi mouse on PC, basically a headshot station. Hydra hunting with mouse is the best thing for me.

Unless your Juggernaut picked a sh*tty spot to hold up and you cannot get anywhere without being shot at, especially if the Juggernaut is standing out in the open like a moron. Juggernaut was just one example, Rhino Hunt being another. Your role in that mode can easily be summed up as cannon fodder by just rushing the tank spamming stickies. Some maps are decent whilst others are horrible and are just one wide open space, tank player does not even need good aim, just has to keep firing and he will get you eventually.

Level 1000 is totally achievable legit.

There are multiple people on this forum that have done it. There is a post here with a list of people.

I never really care about people's ranks unless it's in a heist. Even then, I only pay attention to low levels due to low health and levels 5000+ due to them obviously being a modder who probably has as much experience as the low levels. The only people I judge on experience are those level 5000+ people. I used to judge the low levels as well, but that all stopped when I played with a very competent level 7 who knew what he was doing. You never know if they could be a higher leveled player using a different account, or didn't transfer their old gen characters in time.

I myself am a level 118 at heart. My first character who is 100% legit is only at level 96. However, with all of the combined rank-ups I've done on my modded characters add up. On top of that, I actually research things I don't know about before getting into them so I don't go and f*ck everything up like an idiot.

I usually don't judge anything over 2100 (unless they make it completely obvious their account isn't legit). There are a few (very few) level 2000+ that I've seen that are able to play all the time every day and only grind missions and know every way to get the most RP they can get. They got almost a year in play time. Most of the ones you find over 2000 probably are not legit as the legit ones are rarely in freemode, let alone a session that isn't private. As long as you're cool I couldn't care less what level you were

anyone under level 30 i spawn kill as best i can because i want them to grow strong and resilient like nietzsche yknow like through suffering you become a better player, i love getting a higher kdr too so theres that, plus they usually have weak guns so its easier

@ vnus_dmlo... Bless... Weak bastard.

@ 4NOM4LY... I would advise raising your tolerance towards 1000, don't report for that, I'm 14 months in on my 2nd account and rank 602, and there are many that are twice that, fully legit players, players that did do all those Adv. modes on double RP, for more than a year now they been around. By all means, report the mod/cheating filth man, that I fully agree on, just I know many that you would report unjustly so, and that would be a shame... Maybe 1800/2000 or something these days, it is over 3 years of hard gaming for some man.

I'm lvl 472 with a k/d of 2.56 (average I guess) and in a full lobby or a lobby I always get targeted. I don't attack anyone unless they attack me or they go for me when I'm selling cargo, getting cars etc. it always seems to be the people with bp helmets, loads of tattoos, semi naked females with rebreathers and or bp helmets, OR the ahole who has a jet and a k/d of over 3... no offense to anyone unless YOU are that guy *points* you ppl know who you are.

2.56 is not average lol, that's more than double the average.

The average falls between .7–1.2KDR based on what I see in lobbies. Most players are about .8, I see allot of .5s and allot of players between .8 and 1.0 to about 1.2.

Players that are solid combatants are typically above 1.25 and go up to around 1.5–1.7.

If I see anything above 1.5 they are usually still under 2 but range from that to 2.5 and that's only a few players in a 20+ session.

Then I see the 3+ crowd and they are even fewer still to the point, I'm only seeing them in lobbies every so often.

But my perspective is from Free Aim lobbies, for I hate aim assist so averages could be very different in those servers.

Mr Level 8k would be the number 1 on my list. Intense tryhard with invisible outfit, and helmet. Usually ghosted and jacked up on bull shark 24/7. Eventually leaves after getting bodied. It also sends you messages on how you suck, and abuse the crap out of passive. They fear bounties, and end up hiding on a yacht or leaving.

Summary of all level 8000s ever. Lucky I'm a friend of one, and he usually mentions this too xD

Anyways I'm level 65, and I'm a really good shot, so what does that say?

Being at 330 or so now, when I encounter a level 65 I typically expect him/her to be an easy target.

However, when they own me 8v2, I usually slink away, tail between my legs, and recognize when I've humbled.

And to be honest, I often send a message to them, "owned by lvl 65. LOL!!" and they "LOL" back.

That's how you do it. You make them doubt themselves and wonder if you were actually going easy on them. In reality, you were owned, but they don't know it. :)

---

I used to be griefed a lot until I started griefing around lvl 100. Now at somewhere around lvl 360, I mostly stopped griefing unless somebody asks for a fight. When I griefed, I usually went after players above lvl 100. On ground combat, I find players lower than lvl 100 obviously easy targets who I can kill nonstop without being killed, but for most above, I try to get a feel of their combat style and how competent they are. If they're better at me when sniping and I see that they're using bull shark, I go close quarters or use explosives. Vice versa and I use the sniper. If they're in general better than me, regardless of level, I wouldn't bother continuing fighting unless they're really fun to play with. If they just plain suck, I'd pursue more creative ways of griefing. I used to be intimidated by higher leveled players, but now I don't mind griefing a player 200 levels above me if I'm provoked into it.

If I see low leveled players, I'd offer help to make them money but nowadays they seem to not want help :| Makes me feel rejected and sad.
