Missions for Franklin and Michael online

With all the updates coming out when are we going to be able to do missions for Franklin and Michael we go missions for everyone else but those two

The online game experience is set permanently in a time before Franklin and Michael were introduced to the GTA universe. This means that they will never be encountered in GTA Online.

 

Unless a Time Travel DLC was released...which frankly, wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah and I do believe that the events of online take place just before the main story. If thats the case, Michael would most likely be sitting by the pool, and the only "work" I can see him giving players would be sending them to the store for more booze.

It takes place Spring 2013 where as story mode takes place Summer 2013. That's only 1-3 month(s) before the start of story mode.

 

 

I can understand Michael not offering missions as this was a time when he was still "decomposing in Los Santos with a shrink and a wife who don't love you no more" but what is the excuse for Franklin? He mentions Lamar's Online truck stealing missions in Story Mode during the mission Chop - "boosting gas tankers" to quote him directly - and therefor acknowledging the actions of your Online character. It seems perfectly plausible that while working for Simeon or interacting with Lamar, the Online protag could've met Franklin and created a temporary work relationship that ended by the time Story Mode begins.

 

It also seems plausible that Lamar is still in contact with the Online protag during the Story Mode, given the general tone of Franklin's voice. Lester also might be in contact still with the Online protag too as Lester mentions to Michael during the setup of the Vangelico robbery that he knew of someone that would be too unpredictable for the Vangelico crew.

I explored the DLC files on PC and found that the voice files for Malc is called bpmal.awc while for LJT, it's bples.awc. So it seems like it's supposed to be Lester
Edit: also found one voice file which I haven't heard in game yet, but he says "Hey, it's Les- uh, JT. We got trouble at work. Get over there, or you'll lose product." I assume this will play if you are being raided.
Edit 2: Raised the pitch a little and it sounds exactly like Lester with a bit of distortion. So LJT is Lester with a voice changer

Michael is only re-introduced to Lester during the main story line , so i'd have a hard time seeing Michael in online too.

 

Franklin could always be called by Lamar to team with the online protagonist for some cash making , after all Franklin is trying to move out from his ghetto life , he surely had quite a few involvements with criminals before the main story line.

It does not bother me but I do believe that online should have been set after the events in story,

GTA's time line makes about as much sense as the X-Men films. There was a different post a while back about how online had cars which were more modern than the cars in story mode but I can pretend to myself that they are prototypes.

The thing that gets me is my online avatar is/was a big shot just before the story starts and have dealings with some of the same shared associates as the story protags so why am I not mentioned or known about?

Online evolves as does your character so theoretically it must be going forward on a time line of sorts.

GTA 5 story should have been that summer and online should have been set shortly after that until they decide to close the servers.

In that scenario Franklin would be the only one you could meet as one of the other 2 may have been killed.

The best explanation for the time line we have presently is online is set in a parallel universe where simply the protagonists as we know them are not in the same universe as your online character.
