Should We Be Able To Sell Properties?

Not really sure if this is a topic or not, but I always wondered, should Rockstar let us sell our property outright instead of trading them in for value?

Honestly, I know others probably feel the same way and don't want all these properties now that there's so many options and rather just sell them off and keep the one they feel are more practical.

Like me for example, now that I have the garages in my executive office I feel like certain apartments is just overkill and aren't really practical, yet I have to trade them in for value instead of getting rid of them completely... Besides I don't really want these 2-car garages and the such in those obscure and locations on the map just to "recoup" my money.

How do you guys feel? Do you feel like you should be able to sell your properties instead of trading them in for other ones? Or do you feel the system in place is good enough?

Discuss...

*UPDATE* This includes warehouses, businesses, yatchs, Pegasus vehicles and any other purchased properties as i've read many good points made in the replies.

Yes with the Ceo garages it made alot of apta and garage spointless. We should be able to sell properties to have a neater Personal vehicle menu.

I'd sell mine for free at this point for a less cluttered menu. I am clutter free and often trend towards minimalist styles IRL so having clutter anywhere bothers me.

Definitely. A lot of people tend to have their office garages as their main garages. I really don't know why they never implemented it at launch. I don't think it's that hard. If there are vehicles in the property you are wanting to sell, you'll be prompted to move them or include them in the sale.

Actually, scratch that last bit. Potential money glitch

Maybe that ship has sailed for this incarnation of GTAO. Hopefully it'll be an option for v2.

Of course we should be able to sell our properties. It kinda defeats the whole reason of having a choice and being able to change your mind about wanting something in game. Hell I'm still pissed at nice personstar* for not letting me sell my personal cars if I want to because of the 5k cap on selling all vehicles....

The f*ck nice personstar.

Of course, who wouldn't want to be able to sell anything they bought?

It's common sense, logic.

I'd like to sell properties, Pegasus and special vehicles.

i wouldn't mind discarding some properties for free, even pegasus vehicles, i have litterally all the pegasus vehicles in GTA O which is about 60 items and its giving me hard time selecting the vehicle i want, they could solve that problem by creating categories such as planes/boats/land when you call pegasus. I wanted to create a new character to have a clean property/pegasus list but i don't want to lose all my hard earned character stats/ratio after 4 years of gameplay.

I personally do not care since i would not sell.

That being said, i think it should be possible, but i can't really make up my mind if it should be free or it should happen at full price

Yes, it should be made possible to sell properties. The trade-in price should be reasonable as the sell price, I think.

Not only apartements, but also warehouses and mc business.

If not being able to sell them at a loss, then theu should atleast give an option to get of any property we want, I would get rid of my small cargo warehouse.

it would free up server space if people were able to sell properties but that would make too much sense for rockstar to implement

sure, i wont sell none of mine tho

one thing i'd sell are my pegasus vehicles, even if they are sold at 60%

Considering how easy it is to make money in this game I wouldn't care if they could only be sold at a loss :)

Personally I'd like it to be an option, if only for clearing up inventory. I have no need for a Heist apartment and a bazillion garages anymore.

Anyone wanna rent my place downtown? (not a euphemism)

Got a Yacht that resembles an iceberg with the amount of dust that's gathering on it too

Yeah, the multiple garages I owned sit empty and unused now. I used to fill them with Lampadati Felons that I stole from NPC's, then I'd sell one of them to Los Santos Customs every 48 minutes for $9K or $9.5K, that's how I was making all my money, believe it or not. Now that I'm making millions from CEO work, stealing cars obviously became laughable (even to me), and my garages have sat empty and unused ever since.

It's kind of like America, with empty warehouses and factories stretching from coast to coast, a sad reminder of the way it used to be... GTA V for the win yet again, it's the perfect mirror for our world!

I think yes, but at a loss.

So if you bought one for $300,000 you'd sell it for $200,000

You're drunk if you think they would let you keep two thirds.

They really should allow players to sell, as a business decision on their part. Not at 60% either, it should be 50% like cars and LSC upgrades. That way R* makes huge "profit" (real profit since shark cards are involved) on every transaction.

Players that want to sell property care mostly about uncluttering, losing money on the transaction is worth it to them just to clean up that Pegasus list or whatever.

Yes it should be able to sell or even just discard all things in the game from vehicles, pegasus, clothes, masks whatever.

Havent even bought a yacht, a mc clubhouse or a office garage since my character is stuck forever with them as it is now.

Im happy they made it possible to clean up the weaponwheel even if its still retarded that you pick up every weapon you run over anyway.

Collectors Edition owners can kind of sell properties. They get a free 2 car garage, so if you traded in a purchased apartment/garage for that one, you'd get all the trade in value back, but you can only own one at a time.

Didn't GTAIV give you a choice to pick up or not pick up? That really makes more sense, since it makes the player take an extra step to pick something up off the ground, which is a little teeny bit more realistic and immersive than automatically having whatever you step over running at full speed while being shot at and shooting back going into your personal inventory.

Well when you trade-in you get half for the property's worth (I think). But then you replace it with another property.

I just want to get rid of them. I got an empty garage and an apartment I only used for the Fleeca's Elite challenge. Now I don't really need it.

There's a lot of money to be made with real estate, why not :p

Also, get that property list lighter.

Yes we should. Wasted all that money on an office. All its good for is free snacks and Ill be old and grey before ever making a profit on businesses.

I would love to sell my MC businesses just so I could have LJT not call me. I know you can kind of shut them down temp. but I wouldn't mind getting rid of them all together.

Why shouldn't it be possible? Like another poster said, allow players to sell at a loss. To make it easier on the development team, put the responsibility of moving vehicles out of the garage themselves or they'll be deleted. Take the property off the interaction/menu lists and done.

No Use For A Name

You can just downgrade to 2-car garages. Y'all really that strapped for cash that half of $27k would make a difference?

No, you can already trade them in against other properties, and if you are the type of nigga to sell his house to buy a sports car you need help.

If you are the type of nigga to sell his house to buy a sports car, R* has some nice Shark Cards you might be interested in. ;)
