Hacked? Modder? WTF's goin on

Even though I've had GTA5 for ages I never really bothered with the online game until a few weeks back. Around level 12 i was buying some crap clothes because i was skint when money bags started falling from the ceiling, bang, Ive now got 500 million.

A few times after that in different sessions i was transported to an area with all the others online, crazy cars, people riding pigs and UFO's bobbing around etc. Then the other day i saw "poor sport for wrecking someone's personal vehicle" when i wasn't doing anything, equally its popped up and given me 2K for being a good sport when i was doing nothing lol.

I looked at my stats, the amount of times it said I'd been placed on the bounty list was over a thousand when really it was 10-20, my deaths were 800 when it was more like 80, you get the picture.

3 days ago it said I was killing people but I'm in my apartment? Next thing I'm transported somewhere and i just kept exploding, I'd spawn then explode for about 10 mins.

The weather changed to SNOW ffs, i get a message on my characters phone saying "African Engine is changing the weather", at this point I'm changing my clothes (yep, I'm pathetic with the clothes thing I know) when i watch as my level starts spinning round from 33 right up to 420, it was like a fruit machine.

All of sudden everyone in the game are dressed as snowmen in a car park having snowball fights, crazy cars etc etc, even now I've still got the snowballs along with the grenades lol, but what's going on?

I tried to put a bounty on someone but there's a lock icon on it? Other weird things as well including every time i try to do a race, death match etc, it says theres something wrong with the server and sends me back.

I'm not bothered about free money, bring it on but I'm not level 420 material:-( And my strength has somehow dropped to "Fragile", my driving gone from full to empty, they could of at least bumped this up to the max the gits

Is it just me or is it happening to others and what should I do?

My only question is why didn't you leave right away? I've been reading about a lot of this going on online right now, R* doesn't seem to want to address these issues it seems.

GTA:O is dead, and modders killed it. Getting sh*t like this is part of the game by now - there's nothing you can do other than message Rockstar and hope they take your money and reset your rank.

 

If you want to avoid this, avoid public sessions like the plague. Only use solo sessions, or invite-only sessions with trusted friends.

I'm sure R* is far from happy with these modders ruining their enterprise.. It's not that they don't want to address the issue, the just don't have solutions.

^ If Rockstar Games, nor Take 2 Interactive - both multi million/ billion dollar companies, cannot solve the problem of cheaters in a 3 year old AAA flagship game, then I don't know what to say... and the solution(s) are easy too.

 

They could also issue a cease and desist to the likes of Force Hax who are the root cause of almost all the problem issues on PC, but they don't/ haven't, yet I seem to remember NTAuthority and/ or Chrom3Modz having visitations from the company's legal team to stop what they're doing, over issues that were much less problematic.

Thanks for the answers, well i didn't leave right away because i didn't really know what the hell was going on :-/ I was in the slightest bit bothered about someone dropping 500 million on me, i actually thought it was that "Good Sport" thing, before i realised it was a paltry 2K.

To suddenly find myself dressed as a snowman throwing snowballs while people rode pigs was pretty surreal but funny at the time, and my level going up to 420, well tbh I just didn't think, plus other times things like this had happened they'd reverted back to normal in the next session, not this time though.

I'd read somewhere else that the bounty lock which says "not activated until level ten" (even though I'm 32-420) will also work itself out after a few days to a week, something rockstar does according to the post, although at this point I'm not exactly confident about it.

What i can't understand is why is not a problem on PS4 like it is on Xbox and PC? I've seen modding videos for PlayStation as well so thought it would be more of the same?

As of today nothing has changed, i managed to get like 2 hours gaming in before my car randomly exploded and according to the pop ups at the bottom of the screen so did everyone else's.

From then on i couldn't access any races, missions etc, GTA server problems, go back to GTA5 and try again, and again,....

Game over

^ There isn't any "modding" on the PS4 and XboxOne versions of GTA Online, but there is on PC, Xbox360 and PS3.

 

If you can't access missions or races etc, close the game down and re-launch it, loading to single player first and then online.
