I'm starting to get interested in simulator games but I'm a PS4 user, I know this type of games are stronger on PC... regardless is any you recommend?

Really recommend y'all to play Dishonored and Dishonored 2, two of the best games I've ever played!

Play also D1 DLCs to fully enjoy the sequel though

Came into this thread with the idea of asking what to play tomorrow.  I plan on not moving tomorrow.  I also have next week off.

I tried Dishonored once.  I think I'll give it another go...on your recommendation.  It better be good.  ;)

Dishonored 2 has some of the best level design I've ever seen in a video game - you'll see what I mean especially in 2 exact missions 🤯

Not really spoilers, just what I think of the game in general and a couple of tips, but open at your own risk:

Don't expect a story as good as the first one, it pales in comparison and I really didn't like it

Advice: play as Emily in your first playthrough as it'll make the game completely fresh since you already played the first one. I say this because even though powers have various upgrades and such, Corvo's powers are basically the same he has in Dishonored with just some new abilities

Here's what in my opinion Dishonored 2 did better than the prequel and what not:

+ Level Design

+ Non-lethal combat

+ Difficulty (has like 20 difficulty settings you can tweak at your pleasure, indipendently - plus, AI's a lot better)

+ Soundtrack

+ Powers

+ Huge levels!

- Story

- Characters

- Lore in general

Can y'all help me re-find a PS1 game I played when I was a preschooler? Sadly, all I remember was that you had 3 different characters to choose from, a human, a green, bulky character that resembled Hulk a little, and a purple alien(?) who can fly using his hands. He's also the OPiest of the three, but apparently your Health degenerates when you play as him (balancing purposes I guess). As for the disc cover, all I remember is that the 3 characters were on the right side of the disc, all 3 looking to the left side with the human carrying a large cannon. That's sadly all I remember :/ All I want is to remember/re-discover the game. Looked everywhere to no avail. To the point where I started to doubt it was on the PS1 at all (worst case scenario: either on the NES or the SNES).

I really want to try Sleeping Dogs for a while now but It's on 30 dollars on PS STORE, a little expensive for a last gen game. Is it really worth it?

Definitely don't buy it for 30 dollars. I'm not sure how regularly it goes on sale on your store but on the EU store whenever it's on sale it goes for around £3-4, which is around $5.

I'm sure you'll find it on sale pretty often. The game itself is fantastic and still plays pretty well for an older game.

Definitive edition is the one that always goes on sale here. I picked it up for £3.50 last summer on the store.

Surprised it doesn't go on sale more often on your store. If you have the money and wouldn't care if it later went on sale go for it.

I'd like to recommend the original Mass Effect trilogy. I know they are very popular games, but still. The story, the characters, the setting... If you like to read books or watch science-fiction movies you will certainly enjoy this one.

It's a RPG one, but it's not too complicated. I never played lots of RPGs myself and I managed just fine.

This is one of my favorite soundtracks from the game. It summarizes the experience and the journey of Mass Effect like nothing else. You feel like a small piece of nothing in a infinite universe, sorrounded with mysteries and unknown forces that you can not understand or control.

Can anyone please help me identify a very popular indie game from a few years ago? I think it was a PS3 title. You controlled a little character that was sometimes on a horse and sometimes on foot. The baddies were like wisps of black smoke and at some point you rescue a princess (well a female character at least) and run around holding her by her hand. One boss is a dragon and you have to climb up its back to get to its head and kill it. It was full of little puzzles that you had to solve.

The name Io (pronounced 'eye-o') keeps coming to mind, but this doesn't bring up the game I'm trying to find.

Found it! It was called Ico.

killer7 by Suda51, its on steam so go get it

Buy killer7 from the Humble Store

its a really trippy avant garde survival horror game from 2005 with a story that's comparable to hotline miami. it has a very distinct cel-shaded style and deals with lots of really f*cked up themes that would make even tarantino's, lynch's and takashi miike's collective heads spin, with a very unique gameplay style that only suda51 can think of

even the premise is messed up, you play as a hitman who can channel different personalities by interacting with a creepy vcr TV, and you spend a lot of the game talking to dead people in weird outfits.

and then there's this scene.

i hope i sold you guys on the game

Does anybody remember a game called Desperados for the PC?  The original was released in 2001 (I believe there’s been other versions since), but I can’t find a working copy anywhere.

Please help me remember the name of this game so I don't go completely crazy.

It was similar to House of the dead 2, but you had to shoot some zombie rottweilers in certain cases. SpOoKy.

Don't think it's Silent Hill or Resident evil.

Planetside 2 is definitely worth a try since its free to play and got a really nice update last month

3 Factions 4 massive continents. Gameplay like Battlefield but just scaled up a LOT.

One problem: The new player experience leaves a lot to be desired. But if you are ok with dying  lot and having fun with just playing in enormous battles give it a try.

I recommend A Plague Tale Innocence if you're looking for a good linear story game.

I'm having a blast with Ghost of Tsushima so I'm looking forward to another historical open world on PS4, the one I'm thinking of is Assassin's Creed Origins but I'm worried with it's rpg elements.

Are they to much or doesn't affect the experience for someone who isn't a big fan of rpg games?

If you stayed out of the fight eventually all the cpu would target you (signified by a marker above your head). Still got the game.

Play original NIOH if you haven't yet. The game is neither open world nor it's linear, it's something in between.

It would fill your life with all kind of historic stuff and the bonus is that the combat is somewhat same as the game you just played.

There was another one, sequel or something like that. If this a Doberman you remember - this is resident evil 99 percent. There was a rottweiler once, but I don't remember myself in which of Resident Evil games.

GRIS

I truly love this game. It's very touching and the art and music is amazing

They've put a lot of effort in making it.

If you tried it and loved it (or hated it) please let me know,

I'd love to hear about it ^^

I have a friend trying to get me to purchase Monster Hunter: World and the Iceborne DLC. I've heard a lot of praise for this game, but would still like to hear from you guys if it's still worth it. Haven't played a lot of games that require a lot of grinding, so I'm still wondering if this is the right game for me.

Also, is this game better with friends or solo? There's been a lot of mixed opinions with this question.

Played the main story parts of World and Iceborne entirely solo, multiplayer only for the endgame DLC monsters that are scaled for 2-4 players. It's apparently quite fun with friends (although the matchmaking system is a bit counterintuitive), but it's perfectly enjoyable as a single-player game, too.

As for the grind, I think they tweaked the balance with Iceborne to make things a bit quicker, but it's not all that grindy - fight the same monster 3-5 times, and that'll get you enough items to craft a full 5-piece set of armour for that monster, and the corresponding weapon. And for the most part, you don't to do even that - you'll be mixing and matching armour sets to come up with a perfect build for your needs, so it's only really grindy if you're desperate to get lots of items from the one monster.

Best bet is to just take the story quests as they come, make the best gear with what you earn from those (which'll see you through the story just fine), and then you only need to go back and fight things you want to do again in order to fine-tune your build. And in general, it never really feels like a grind, anyway, because it's not a game where you can just play on autopilot - either a monster is so entry-level that you can fillet it in minutes using high-end gear, or it's tough enough that even farming it for parts requires you to concentrate (or else get stomped into the dirt by a honkin' big dragon).

I cannot believe I just found this:

Ground Zero Texas (1993) Sega CD FMV game trailer - YouTube

I played this game when I was so, so young. I could barely remember anything about it other than the cutscenes had "real people" and you shot aliens. My brother, parents, no one remembered it. I actually got to a point where I thought I maybe remembered it wrong.

I just watched a Gameranx video about games that troll you when you die, and they mentioned Demolition man with Sylvester Stallone, and they said that FMV (Full Motion Video) games were a huge trend in the 90s. I knew the second I heard it that the game I had spent years looking for must have been an FMV game too.

So I searched as simple as I could "FMV Alien Game" and BOOM. I found it. I'm not joking when I say I've spent the better part of 20 years trying to find/describe this. I even asked about it on this very forum. I loved it so much, but we got it for free from a family friend, and I was so young I didn't take any notice of the title really, just stuck it in and worked it out. So glad I finally, finally found it. I also had no idea that FMV games were such a trend, as this is the only one I remember playing like this. So if I had known about FMV, It would of been so much easier, but truthfully I haven't really heard of it.

I sent the link to my brother, asking if he finally remembers it, he replied "oh that one"

If only it was that simple for the last 20 f*cking years 😆
