ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
Trying to find an old game I used to play on Sega I think it was. You were an Apache helicopter pilot and you had to go around and destroy a bunch of bad guy hideouts by blowing up houses and such and then at the end of the first level you had to escort the President back to the white house and destory the attack vehicles that tried to attack the motorcade route. Mister Pink
@AiraCobra That would be Jungle Strike my man. I loved that game. Also Desert Strike was the one that came after it (I think). Edit: Desert Strike came before it, I believe. Deadman2112
Gaming question about the RedDead game series... I made this post in the RedDead section of the forums and it was recommended that I redirect my question here. P.S. I didn't even know we had a topic like this lol and think it's a grate idea. Anyway, I was reading a post made by another member regarding the gang in RedDead Redemption 2 and a comment was made about how the gang was assembled. It's funny because, I distinctly remember playing a game that had almost the exact back story as this one. Only I can't remember the name. I don't think it was RedDead Revolver but I might be wrong about that. ...I thought it was called "Gun" or something like that. Arthur's character was in it. He was the cocky, sharp-tongued yard boss and the muscle of the gang. A real no nonsense hard @ $ $ if you get my drift. ...Just like in this game, along with all the others. ...Only if I'm remembering it correctly, the names were slightly different. It started out with the main character and throughout your travels you save a bunch of NPC characters especially prostitutes and outlaws, including a preacher with a drinking problem. Each one you saved all had different abilities that contributed to the gang, and all of whom resemble the ones in RedDead Redemption 2. I even remember something like, getting attacked by wolves and being unable to contribute to the gang for a while in the story. Also people would get upset if supplies ran low. They would start acting up when this would happen and you would often have to knock them out to get them back in line. Just like this game only in reverse. Does anyone else remember this game? ...or am I remembering RedDead Revolver? Sorry, it was from a loooong loooong time ago. lol If it wasn't RedDead Revolver, did R* buy that franchise or something and raise RedDead Redemption out of the ashes of that title? Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered, 27 page's are a lot to sort through. Edited November 24, 2018 by Deadman2112
Lemoyne outlaw
hi everyone im looking to get a new game for ps4. for christmas i got 50 dollars for the ps store. so im wondering what to get. i have been looking at watch dogs 2. its got a great sale. but i played the first watch dogs and i wasent a fan. it was complicated and confusing for me. but it still interests me. how is the second one? is it any good? my game preferences are action and open world like gta. i dont play many other games except call of duty. and i hate battlefield. so any recommendations would be appreciated. basically im looking for something similar to gta. with plenty of guns and driving too. it would also be nice to be able to fly planes and helicopters too. i already played mafia 3 and saints row games. i also saw a just cause 4. i played the second one a bit. it was okay but i wasent a huge fan of the story. and there was not many interiors. i also really like interiors in games. i would also like it set in modern day. not futuristic or over the top silliness. and not too much realism. something more along the lines of a mixture of gta 4 and 5. or if set in the past. set in the 19th century. like a western. and yes i have red dead redemption 2. i have also played some of the assassins creed games. like 3 4 and unity. but im not big on stealth. im more of a guns blazing kind of player. and if i do get a game that was recommended by you. would anyone help me get used to the game and teach me? thanks again and i would appreciate the help. HockeyMike24
@confederatestatesgta Watch Dogs 2 is alright if you can get a good deal on it. In my opinion the gameplay is better but the story is worse. Unless you like the whole hipster thing. Plus you can play it in coop, which can be a lot of fun
Commander S
Sounds like Sleeping Dogs might be a good alternative, too - imagine something halfway between GTA IV and V overall, but with Batman: Arkham combat, and looking/playing like someone took the Hollywood (and HBO, in the case of IV) out of GTA, and replaced it with Hong Kong action cinema. There's no stealth - the combat's a mix of the aforementioned brawling and cover-shooting (with a twist: vaulting from cover makes the game go into John Woo slo-mo, and chaining headshoots and the like keeps the effect going, boosting your damage and looking appropriately badass into the bargain). And if you like interiors, you acquire different safehouses during the story, as well as having the option to enter shops (eating gives you temporary stat buffs), or visit bars for things like the karaoke minigame: Mister Pink

Yeah, I would recommend Sleeping Dogs too. The gameplay is fun and the story is engaging enough that you will want to complete it. You might also watch some Hong Kong action films to accompany it. Gunplay is at a minimum. It's more hand-to-hand combat but when you do rarely get guns it feels more dramatic because you've mostly been fighting all the time. OurJud
I'm looking for the name of a game I remember from a number of years ago. It may have been from the PS2 era, but possibly earlier. It was a third person game - kind of a precursor to open world games, without actually being open world. You played some kind of bounty hunter or generic 'baddie killer' and your mode of transport was a chopper motorcycle (or at least some kind of motorcycle). I distinctly remember one mission where you had to speed around the town, finding a series of bombs before they detonated. One of the bombs was in a derelict underground subway type place. Any ideas? Never mind. It was Headhunter. That was easier to find than I imaged. Edited February 11, 2019 by OurJud
OurJud
Trying to remember a racing game on the PS3. It was a lovely balance of arcade and simulation and had a quite amazing rain affect on the windscreen when in cockpit view (probably looks crap compared to the same affect in today's racers). I can't really tell you any more than that. I think winning a race gave you a new car, but other than that it was fairly generic.

OurJud
Need help identifying a racing sim on the PS4 (I'm certain this time) that allowed you to adjust the seating position for the cockpit view. The weird thing is you had to plug in a keyboard to do it. I asked the same question at Game and they said PS4 keyboard compatibility has only been a thing in the last three months, but I call nonsense. This was definitely PS4. It was definitely a racing sim. It was definitely more than 3 months ago (more like a couple of years) . And I could definitely adjust the seating position if I plugged in a keyboard. The only two racers I can think of from around this period are Driveclub and Project Cars (definitely wasn't GT Sport because I only had that for half a day once I realised how crap the offline mode was). Thanks in advance. [UPDATE] It's Project Cars if anyone's interested. Edited February 28, 2019 by OurJud
lewiz6235
As old as it may be now, Digimon World truly was an RPG like no other back in the days of the PlayStation, especially with it mixing in the elements of the Tamagotchi caring after your pet (or here 'Monster') and looking after them whilst also training them up to hopefully evolve into better forms, but done so in a much more complex manner than a simple hand-held device could ever hope to emulate. Plus it helps that, programming-wise, the game is really quite sophisticated for a PS1 game, so much so that people today are still somehow figuring out new tricks and glitches to see the more 'wacky' side of Digimon World, but alas it is a game kept reserved in an era of where gaming was just blooming to become a flower that'd follow in the golden era of the 2000's! LeslieFromTheShoIntimacy
So I used to play this game on Dreamcast; it was like a flight simulator game. You could choose from different planes IIRC, they were mostly fighter jets. There were a bunch of challenges you had to complete and it was accompanied by 80’s style hair-metal music to put you in the Top Gun mood. I also believe there was a mode where you could just fly around but perhaps my memory is failing me and I was just going off the standard path on the challenges. I can still vaguely remember a stage selection screen that showed your intended flight path. Again this was on Dreamcast. Anyways, if anyone remembers this game, please comment. I want to look up gameplay videos on youtube for nostalgia but I don’t know what it was called.

If you want to try something a bit different than those open-world games, I would suggest Cyberpunk game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It's about people in the near future getting augments to their bodies. Some part of society agrees that this is progressive and logical way forward but others are against augmenting because it can be used for more nefarious reasons and is a danger to society. So people with augments become kind of ostracized as news breaks that augmented people are using it to for bad purposes. The game is in a sectioned open-world. Multiple ways to enter some restricted buildings. Go through the vent? Hack a terminal? Kill a guard? Break through a section of a wall? Often times, entering a restricted building can be a bit of a puzzle. But there are usually multiple ways. You can play stealth of guns blazing. Great game! Very underrated!
