Depends on what type you're looking for - Cities: Skylines is doing nicely as a sim game, and you can throw in a 'hard mode' and/or firespreading mod to make it not impossible to lose.

Anyone know some good strategy or sim games?

Age of Empires 2. It's old but it still holds up brilliantly. You can get the HD edition off Steam as you might find the original's graphics to be a little outdated.

I need some games to play with company. Most likely candidates would be shooters or racing games. Must have split screen multiplayer. Xbox360 or PS4. Not looking for brand new, need to be able to get it cheap somewhere.

Blur is a fun split-screen racing game for the Xbox 360, basically Mario Kart but with real cars.

Halo's a good split screen multiplayer game, as is CoD black ops/black ops 2 - you can play multiplayer split screen online or against bots, and there's also the zombie wave survival which is really fun with 4 people.

Would you guys recommend me Mass Effect? There's this game pack with all three games for $30

Definitely - although people like to focus on the quality of ME3's ending, everything else about the series is amazing.

I think in the Mass Effect topic, you were the one that said that the journey itself is more important than the ending itself.

And I completely agree with that.

Any big stealth fans here? I am in the minority of people who think Splinter Cell and Hitman are better than MGS, anyone else have this opinion?

Despite loving the mechanic itself, my patience in waiting is sadly short. Other than waiting for the moment to pull the trigger with a sniper, I cannot stand in one place.

The only stealth games I really like are the Splinter Cell series and the first 3 Thief games. Haven't tried Thief 4 yet (not sure I want to)

I personally love Stealth games. Today, I bought Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, haven't played that game for a very long time, and I found it used at €6,95, so I couldn't not buy it. Although I like the concepts of both the Splinter Cell and Hitman series, my favourite Stealth video game series remains Metal Gear, it's just the epitome of epicness in my opinion. But yes, I have a lot of criticism toward this video game series, and some of them are as follows:

1. Cutscenes are too long. I know, cutscense are the most important respect if you want to fully understand and enjoy these games (and basically every other game), but they are extensively long. Even Hideo Kojima admitted that Metal Gear Solid 4's cutscenes were too long - actually, Metal Gear Solid 4 won a Guinness World Record for the longest cutscene ever - but he's kinda "fixing" this in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Some of them, though, are unnecessarily long and game-breaking. Where's the "Tactical Espionage Action"? Yeah, where's the actual action? Also, I don't have all this time in my disposal, but whatever... those cutscenes are amazingly directed and entertaining to watch, plus Codec conversations are very funny to listen to.

2. All the games are canon, but if you want to follow the story you have to own at least 5 different consoles, and here's the part I like most: some of them are exclusives. I love how Dan Houser writes Grand Theft Auto games, in fact they feel independent in their own, but also canon to previous titles (3D Universe Grand Theft Auto games). This doesn't ruin your gaming experience if you didn't play other games, but you can still enjoy them anyway. I know this isn't the best example, but I think you got what I mean. So, if you want to know what happened between Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops) and don't own a PSP, just forget about it.

3. Raiden. Nah, not that much, but still. What I didn't like about him wasn't Raiden himself, I actually enjoyed playing as him, really, but how the game (Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty), before its release, never mention Raiden. It was intended as a surprise by Hideo Kojima to the fans, but no, Kojima, I didn't like this surprise, just give me Snake! However, I got over it, and really enjoyed the game and Raiden, too.

4. Camera angle in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This slightly influenced, in a bad way of course, the immersion of this amazing game to me, and I consider it to be one of the best games ever made and also my favourite Metal Gear. That camera angle perfectly made sense in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty where the game was set in small and closed environments, but not in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This was eventually fixed on the Subsistence, HD Collection and The Legacy Collection versions of the game, but in the original one it was very annoying.

And other minor things I can't think of at the moment. However, you can't not love the Metal Gear series simply for what it is, I believe it's something very special.

What about going old school, like the Tenchu games? (specifically Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins)

Can't comment on MGS but my friend is a huge fan and he it's his favourite series. That's cool. He says to try the old ones out but I feel like I'm waaaay too late for the party.

However, I really like Hitman and Splinter Cell. I'm playing through blacklist at the moment. I'm finding it quite enjoyable. I really enjoyed Abandoned Mill, Detention Facility and Special Mission HQ.

I'm dying to play co-op on Splinter Cell.

No, don't worry, you're not late to the party. However, as I've already stated, most of the Metal Gear games are prequels and sequels to the first one, Metal Gear, so if you miss one of them, there would be a lot of things that you will not understand. I personally recommend you to get Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection which includes 8 Metal Gear games [Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Edition), Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Edition), Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Trophy Edition) and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker], 2 digital graphic novels (Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel and Metal Gear Solid 2: Digital Graphic Novel) and a Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy booklet with some unreleased and exclusive artworks (only in some versions, though). A big deal considering its retail price is only $49,99. The Legacy Collection, however, is only available on the PlayStation 3. Alternatively, you can get the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection which includes (Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker), and it's also available on the Xbox 360. The Legacy Collection is high on my wishlist. I believe that at least one Metal Gear game have to be in a gamer's library, they absolutely are a must-have.

Talking of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, I never played it, but I'm very interested in it, especially because my favourite Splinter Cell game is Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and it seems that with Splinter Cell: Blacklist Ubisoft got back to its roots with the series after the disappointment that was Splinter Cell: Conviction for many fans.

It's been a long time since I last played any of the Hitman games, and I actually miss them a lot.

Yeah the Hitman series is fun to play stealthily, though I wasn't such a big fan of Absolution. It was alright though.

Cheers for the info man. I feel as a gamer, I must give MGS a try. Maybe I can ge the Legacy Collection or the HD Collection. ;)

I never really played Splinter Cell before Conviction. I understand the criticism it recieved but as a newbie to the series, I was just enthralled by the gameplay/themes/style etc.

Absolution is decent but it's not as good as Blood Money. Also, you need to play it on a hard difficulty to reclaim the feeling of the old games.

You're welcome, my friend. Yeah, the Metal Gear games definitely are a must-have: breathtaking storylines, unforgettable characters, revolutionary gameplay, awesome soundtracks, and a lot of Easter Eggs to discover. Since you like Stealth games, I'm sure you'll enjoy the Metal Gear games, as well.

My favourite Hitman and Splinter Cell games are Blood Money and Chaos Theory, respectively. I enjoyed Hitman: Contrats, too; such an awesome game. Hitman: Absolution seems to be a very nice game as far as I've seen from gameplay videos, but I've heard a lot of criticisms from many Hitman fans - worth a try, though.

Talking of Stealth games, another great Stealth game I like is Manhunt, absolutely the game that scared me the most in my whole life, and still frightens me sometimes. Playing it on Hardcore (radar off) is terrorizing since you don't know where your enemies are, so you have to open ears and eyes and hope to not get spotted while you're trying to spot them yourself. This game makes your heartbeat go faster, really. The storyline is very simple as opposed to its spiritual sequel, but it is very enjoyable and engaging. In fact, the script of the game is 525 pages long, and 500 of them are dialogue from the Hunters and Lionel Starkweather (the enemies and major antagonist of the game), while the script of the plot is 25 pages only. The Hunters' dialogue are simply brilliant, as well as the voice acting. A thing I always appreciated about Rockstar Games is their ability to take the most vital elements of a game no matter what's its theme, and give its world credibility. I believe it's a great talent.

Alien vs Predator for Atari Jaguar. I remember when I got that the xmas after it was released. I was playing every single second of that day and the ones that followed while eating mom's breakfast casserole. I still get the urge to play it when i visit mom's on xmas day (she still cooks that same casserole).

I'm looking for PC Games where you can play as a police officer and arrest/take down people, the ones I know;

True Crime

Urban Chaos

S.W.A.T. 1-4

L.A. Noire

I'm not interested in pixelart indie games. Games could also be adventure/point-and-click instead of action.

As for good games, Jet Force Gemini for N64 is pretty awesome.

Never too late to the party imo. Recently purchased MGS1 on the PSN store, brings abck so much nostalgia, and the fact that the game is still so brilliant to this day is a bonus. Also playing through the HD series on the 360. Think the fact of how much thought went in to the games is so under-appreciated, like the thousands of easter eggs or little humour segments.
