Project Details

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Project Props is a mod project which seeks to provide the 3D era GTA San Andreas a little touch of realism by increasing map details via adding objects.It's sad that R* couldn't give a high details to these maps because of the technical limitations of consoles of that time, PS/PS2 and ended up leaving the empty map in some parts. The purpose of this mod is to simply add objects as much as possible to cover these empty spaces, giving more life to the game & making it realistic & immersed.

There was few similar projects in the past, like WindowsExPee's San Andreas props mod, which if I'm correct, is still in development as we talk. I generally like the idea, and always have - III era maps aren't exactly detailed, and there's surely a lot that could be done to improve them. The one problem is, out of all MEd projects, only a small fraction gets finished. Small map mods, focusing on one building, street or maybe even neighborhood have chances to be released, but a complete map overhaul is a different story. And here we have not one, but three separate projects, with five major cities. Understandably I'm sceptical about them, witnessing countless other MEd mods popping up from nowhere and disappearing after a week or two.

I'm not saying you're going to do the same - in all honesty, I wish you luck, but for now, you didn't show much, but promised a lot. Same as other huge, revolutionary MEd projects that eventually were cancelled. Yeah, there's few screenshots from Vice City, showing bus stops. Lots of them. Nonetheless, taking to consideration how much is ahead of you, this is pretty much nothing.

Also, what worries me, some of your props barely fit the original style and atmosphere of GTA Vice City. Just look at the palm trees visible on screens #3, #5 and #7 - they're more saturated than freaking Green Lantern's constructs. While the model and texture could be okay, at first sight, the colors make them too cartoony.

I can't even imagine how do you want to add GTA V props to your project. V objects are pretty much a decade older than San Andreas, with detailed geometry, higher resolution textures and proper mapping. There's simply no way they're going to fit anything. In my opinion, you look in the wrong direction - instead of searching for nice, quality models, you could select original props from 3D era GTA games, and use them, making sure they're not repeated too often. WindowsExPee used some IV/V props in his mod as well, but the effects are more diverse and unified than your map additions. Not mentioning, your goals are HUGE. One map would be a challenge, and overwhelmed many in the past, but five cities, a desert, forests and small towns? Oh, and compability with GAT UG, containing all the maps together? I don't know.

It'd be nice to see a props mod finally getting released and being properly immersive, so keep on working. Try to unify the style of your props, make sure the same models don't appear too often, close to each other, and focus on smaller objectives, for example finishing a district before going to another one. Good luck.

I agree with you on some point but not all of them.

1.Yeah you are right that GTA 5 props may not fit correctly in 3rd era games but it's worth of a try.

2.Firstly the trees you were talking about were not a part of my project.Thise trees are part of the generic of that verson of VC .I don't plan to place trees in VC cause i am having pretty much troubles just placing the Dustbins in VC where there is not that much of a space.

3.The most important part i know there were tons of projects for GTA SA props but most of them were cancelled.Thats because of a reason.If you want to make a program it will take about 1 month or less.You can even do it alone...But props...It's very simple task but very time killing...If u think you will only make props for GTA SA La.Theres no limit to that...It can also take up to a year or two....What i am saying that placing props are very time killing and cause of that many projects were cancelled and i am well aware of that...

 

So i want to make a team for this project.Everyone will have a small part of the map to work with.The recruiting is still in progress.I also have contacted with others who worked on this type of projects and some of them who cancelled their projects gave me permission to also use there projects but of course gotta give them credits....

Thanks for your comments.We are not just adding props besides the trash can but also fixing some original props...of the game.I found many bugs in GTA VC and GTA LC.

2.Fixed some Street Lights and Signals that were buried in ground.

3.Added More street lights.

4.Added Some Dustbins and Recycle Bins.

5.Added Seats.

5.Added Some More Sign Boards.

8.Added some objects on the Unused ground near the Sunshine Auto's.

Our Working Steargy

As mapping is a kinda one person thing.So questions may occur that how will we manage a team to do this task?

Ans:We will firstly form a team.Then we will give all of them a specific part of the map to work with.Like I am working on GTA VC,while Davve95 is working on San Andreas SF.
Forming a team to this project will decrease time consuming and also make the updates quickly.And because all the mappers will get a specific small part of the map,they will be able to do their respective works properly.
