It was then followed by a screen stating 'gta online session is having trouble syncing important catalogue data with the server'. This happened to me right now and i have checked the server status for pc which is up and running currently.

I have tried tweaking the windows firewall settings before but it was certainly useless.

Please give tips if you have resolved this issue before, thanks !

It's useless, logging out of gta 5 and getting back on still does not let me enter online. This has been the case for some time already.

Guess im really unfated to play gta online. Screw me, im that unfortunate.

I've had this issue happen only when my internet crapped out or R* servers were down. If it's not either of this, then maybe check if your antivirus software is limiting data usage for GTA ?

It has always been up and running as usual but yet I'm hindered by this idiotic issue and thus always can't play it. Those so called fixes on youtube didn't help jack sh*t either, just how unfortunate can I be.

Did this to me a couple times tonight, amongst other freezes during loading back into free-roam after heist.
