Race Checkpoints not Registering?

So I like Stunt Races and I'm pretty good at them. As most racers know the start of the race is one of the most important parts of the race.

 

Well the game has been deciding lately that I am getting too many good starts or something because my first checkpoint sometimes does not register even when I drive right through the middle of it cause me to have to respawn at the beginning of the race because it doesn't bother saying "wrong way" until you're 30 or so seconds into the race.

 

And when it happens it's not just me, it normally catches half the field when it glitches out.

 

I have video I can post of the issue later if need be.

 

I'm just curious if this has been happening to anyone else because this is pretty much a death sentence as far as winning races go and it's really annoying.

This is a common issue with big lobbies. Just keep an eye on the minimap whenever the race starts to make sure the checkpoints exist.

A long time...

 

I swear this happened to me on Jumps Jumps Jumps back on PS3.

 

Defo had it happen to me in races with over 20 people on PS4 months ago.

Gosh, this is still happening? Hmm...

 

Yeah if you take a look at the bottom right, usually those checkpoints don't register when the "race timer" hasn't been initiated, so if you start driving off and don't see all the numbers you should see, going up in the way they should be, wait around by the first checkpoint.

Those checkpoints are a total nightmare.
