Relatively safe, I guess? Since hackers can still GIVE you money. Even the non-legacy users. It's not patched.

Ok i just got a reply from Rockstar Support on my modded money issue.

The money that got in my account with the bodyguard payment feature gets definitly targeted as modded money. So the system is definitly abke to tell if the money you git is legit or not, even if legit money pathes were used to get it in your account.

^^ ...so claims R* Support with zero evidence to back it up (unless the GTAV launcher detects cheat code/scripts running on your PC on startup--but that's a significantly different animal).

 

I'll say it again: If R*/R* Support could consistently--and accurately--detect ANY kind of fake GTA$ in your accounts, there would never be a need to contact them for receiving fake GTA$. They would simply run constant, automated scripts/bots in the background to crawl through player accounts and erase it wherever it existed.

 

But that rarely happens. R* Support can't even agree among themselves on their verdict for the same issue (as happened to me). But what else should we expect from an out-sourced support company (as Fun De Panda noted recently)? There are plenty of people who not only accrued fake GTA$ in the past still not caught, but are still getting fake GTA$ and laughing all the way to new DLC.

 

Yes, they might get caught by suspicion (sudden stats changes, etc.), but R* still clearly lacks the ability to catch them by irrefutable evidence.

 

All we need to do is look at the fact that R* can't even successfully GIVE their own player base legit GTA$ to see the answer on this.

Yup, sadly it's true, I guess part of the reason is that online wasn't about money as it is now, and core game code still built from cops'n'crooks concept, where infrastructure just doesn't allow such detection.

 

They needed to rewrite many things since they re-released on next gen, but that never happened. See hospital bill.

 

And it's too late to do drastic changes like this, battle already lost, and let me assure you, if hackers will get their hands on consoles, it's gonna be the same situation.

 

R* lucky they can't do that, for now...

as i follow this topic like a freak, i contacted r* support again on my still open last ticket.

i confronted them, how much money i am allowed to spend, while i am waiting for sweep.

they say i can spent the money i got before the attack but should let some more over,

in the case i dont know the correct amount of both values (legal and illegal money).

The only way out would be installing a mod menu and remove your money infection by myself.

 

So this sounds like a mod menu promotional program to me.

I just got an update from my crewmate that hackers are able to wipe your wallet somehow. Again.

 

He lost 26 millions

Yep, when people tell on themselves and ask rockstar to remove their modded money they are often either ignored or told to just leave it there or "it will be taken dw".

This, 1000x. A friend of mine was dropped to a rank < 10; he spoke with Rockstar on the phone, the support person indicated that they cannot tell the difference between modded/legit money (and proceeded to wipe his 80mil legit/40mil modder-forced). Anything that anyone from Rockstar says on the phone/writes in email should be taken with a huge grain of salt. They're either running a brilliant FUD campaign or they're just astoundingly incompetent. I'm voting for the latter.

These options have different implementations.

 

The clear wallet feature clears only your own wallet, it doesn't affect other players. To drain money of another player you have to rely on the hospital bill - and this one seems to be patched.

Unfortunately it got patched.

That is wrong, you can delete your own characters. I've done it twice. But whether putting your modded money into the wallet of a 2nd character and deleting it means that Rockstar won't take away that exact amount during their money sweeps, that is another question.

 

Might be a good experiment for you to test out, though.

Are you serious with this? This is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this forum, you discuss risking using a hack to remove cheated money in the hope of not being punished for being a cheater?

 

If you really want to deplete your bank balance for no reason just buy a whole garage load of X80 Proto cars then replace them all with free Elegy and RIP your money.

 

IMO both are ridiculous you should just keep the money.

I absolutely cannot guarantee anything. The money can be taken from a wrong end and I would, for myself, delete all the money. I wouldn't buy anything, though.

 

The money can either be marked as illicit (means they track every dollar, what seems too complicated) or just the balance (triggers, when you spend more than you earned)

I know one thing for sure.. I'm staying behind my firewall for the time being until the gunrunning DLC hits town. Hopefully then this mess will be sorted out and the hackmenus are gone for a few weeks/months again. No need to risk my legit millions/rank.

Things are clearly (still) not safe and until this thread gives me the 'ok', I just continue my grind like a mofo. . I do miss freeroaming and having fun with others though... It's damn lonely on planet grind...

It cant be the second, because if it would be, i would have been banned long time ago. There is a bug going on that f*cks with the stats and make money that you earned with Crates or Import/Export not show up in your totall earned.

This bug partially happens on my account, some of the money i earned this way shows up and some does not. For me it shows that I have spend around 30 Million more than wI have earned.

i cannot see the logic behind your idea.

you would risk getting banned (and your character being reset) for using a mod menu in order to avoid getting banned and reset for having modded money?

are you really serious about this?

 

the risk for just keeping the modded money is even smaller than the risk for using a mod menu.

No one is going to go after R* as R* themselves have done nothing wrong, they're just taking their sweet ass f*cking time fixing this.

I saw many crazy actions so that's why . For example some woman in USA lawsuit McDonalds, because she got hurt after spilling warm coffee on herself. In her opinion Mc Donald's coffee was probably too hot so that's why she got hurt... Stupid isn't it?

Yeah, that's modders. They give you money in increments of 25k or 50k, usually multiple times per second. No one knows what to do about it or how rockstar will respond. I reported the first one I got (10M) but haven't bothered for the rest as you get a form response as they don't want to deal with it. I've avoided spending any.

Are you serious? Rockstar is one of the most experienced companies in terms of lawsuits (Lindsay Lohan, Jack Thompson ... the list goes on and on). I'm sure they have a team of dedicated lawyers.
