Feel you've been caught in a ban-wave unfairly? Large ban waves can usually catch strays, so check out the Rockstar Support form for ban appeals.

Fortunately, the way this is being done can only be used to give RP, so deranking a player is out of the question. Still though, if you enjoy leveling up legitimately, it's best to stay offline until Rockstar (hopefully) addresses this. Considering I know how this works, does anyone have a form or an email I can use to contact Rockstar regarding these type of exploits? It's likely they can figure it out themselves but you never know.

What I suggest everyone to do is enter the invite only session and take a video showing your money, your rank level and outfits. Maybe properties - just in case.

They audit money accounts and transactions extremely badly. Everytime something breaks at the R* side and you make a support ticket - they want some kind of video evidence from YOU!

That's exactly why I stay in my own solo public lobby. In case anyone doesn't know how to do this on the PC:

Step 1: Open Windows firewall.

Step 2: Click on advanced settings.

Step 3: Click on outbound rules.

Step 4: Select new rule.

Step 5: Select port.

Step 6: Select UDP + Specific Remote Ports (and then enter 6672)

Step 7: Click on Block The Connection.

Step 8: Check All 3 on the following page.

Step 9: Give it a name (Like... "freeeeedddooommm")

RESULT: Smooth PRIVATE lobby... every... single... time with no issues. Been having it like this since August of last year, and I'm pretty much on at least 3-4 times a week. Also, if you need to go in a public session for whatever reason, simply follow steps 1-3, and then in the middle list, click on the name you gave your setting in step 9 above, and click on "Disable Rule". When you're ready to go back to a private lobby again, simply click on "Enable Rule". And no, this is not against R* policy.

Oh yeah, one more thing, you can also invite your friends into your private lobby as well with this method and they can benefit too. I do this with my son all the time. :)

Stay safe.

Modders are now able to add money directly into Maze Bank ;/ Some idiot added me more than 3 000 000 x.x I DO NOT NEED ANY TROUBLE so this is making me very angry. Just went into public lobby for a second after playing golf :/

This is actually great advice. Thank you for putting it here.

Yea R* always asks for proof. I'm gonna record all my stuff next time I log in. Thanks again.

One should really press Rockstar to bring the CEO and biker options to invite-only lobbies because of this issue.

I can't play safely because of this and there is no human moderators who decide whether you commited a offense - you simply get Autobahned and it lasts a while before you get unlocked again.

You are guilty by presumption. This isn't right at all and this is why I won't buy Shark Cards. G'day chaps.

That feature is form last-gen ?

Hospital Bill ?

that's still in current gen too, you can kill someone in passive and you'll still get that notification.

Edit: nevermind, i thought it does.

One stupid crazy f&ck gave me 1000th level. I wrote about it to Rockstar Support but they just said "We don't ban". If i'll meet this co#ks@cker, i'll f*ack him, a()hole.

And Then you receive a load of reports on your arse and Rockstar will ban you because of this and noone will give a damn.

Open a ticket, mark "cannot play game because of this", your priority will be raised in their system.

Darn, and I wanted to play this Easter.

Wow well......lag switch time.....

I mean where can I find a modder to give me those rare shirts should be focused on that than screwing with levels.

Ffs, cheaters could remotely blow up your console/PC and R* wouldn't give a f*ck, unless very clear proof was available to show that this has an adverse effect on shark card sales. What's next, they'll bring everyone back down to level 1 and no owned items? delete characters remotely?

I'm guessing that even staying in invite only is not going to make me safe. If I join any heist or anything, I risk getting sent to a public lobby momentarily. Sure, the risk is 'minimal', if you just join a session for 10 seconds or so before you leave to go back to invite only, but that risk could very well be a ban risk for me. I can't f*cking be bothered to fight with R* support should anything happen, it's tough enough as it is if you want to fight for a $250k rebate... can't imagine having to wrestle my account back from them.

Q) Okay so is it definitely time to stay out of public GTA Online sessions if you're a PC player?

A) Quite possibly, as other people can now change your rank remotely, in addition to other things.

Explanation: Coders have recently discovered or perhaps more correctly been told, how to set another player's rank - something that will stick on your character unless you contact Rockstar Support and have that reversed, OR you delete that GTA Online character. This 'function' has already been included in a recent mod menu update that was created for the Online version of the PC game.

The major issue in my eyes is that as the innocent player minding their own business and playing the game properly, you've got no idea this sort of thing is about to happen to you, and very little recourse as just explained, and if that cheater using such mod menu sets your rank to 8000, well then you only need to use your imagination to realise what unfolds as a result (a lot more reports and cheater accusations are just two things).

That's not all either.

You can also be kicked from the session you're playing in, whether other players have reported you, voted to kick you or otherwise, again through the use of such mod menus, whereby the cheater only needs to browse to your name, select it, and a number of exploitative and griefing options are available.

When you're kicked, you will most likely be greeted with the message "Failed to find a compatible GTA Online session".

Finally, there's one other thing which is probably the most important - so I hope you got to this stage of the post. Your cash can also be taken - and because Rockstar Games has continually failed to add a third type of GTA Online monetary balance (Maze Bank/ Wallet Cash/ Shark Cards), it means those players who have spent real life money on the game, could see that disappearing.

This is not anything new - seasoned PC players will know about "insurance fraud" and it also hasn't been implemented in any mod menu - that I'm aware of - just yet, but it's definitely something to be on the watch for.

I hate to give these guys any more views, but I thought I'd leave a video below as a way of 'proving to the naysayers' that it is possible.

Thanks for reading, take it easy out there!

EDITED 10/ APR/ 2017 - Thread title updated (thanks staff) to reflect on updated information that a 'new' type of fraud is possible, depleting whatever money you've earned at a fast rate, and that we may shortly see outfits being modified by these mod menu users.

If you do have any outfits you've worked hard for (limited/ special items) or don't want to see changed, please take pictures of your character outfits so that you have some form of recourse in the event that the problem cannot be rectified yourself.

I got kicked out by hacker on Sunday. The Player said after i had words with him " GoodBye Daniel" Then i got kicked and it said can't find a compatible version.

Prince_Polaris

f*cking hackers... I go AFK to use the bathroom and I come back with over 2 million in cash and my roosevelt impounded.

One, how? And two, what the hell happened while I was gone?

I blew the money on a buzzard and an infernus classic, so hopefully I don't get banned because some retard teleported everyone into an alleyway because one kid was begging for money.

Fck cheaters! They must dead! Come on Rockstar Games! Move you hands for extremely important fix!

Some players reported me what some bastard level up for 1000. FFFS!

P.S. No more public session with randoms. Only friends.

Yeah, sadly, that's probably what's gonna get you banned.

DentureDynamite

GTA Online game play continues to tank even without the rampant cheaters.

But FWIW, the fake bounties they were putting on players last winter (PC as usual) did absolutely nothing--not sure if they've found a workaround to give these cheats any teeth since then(?):

I was lobby hopping the other day to find an empty public lobby to do CEO stuff...I wasn't even in one lobby for 30 seconds and some modder put f*cking clowns with miniguns in my apartment. Yet, my friend couldn't see them....I knocked them over enough times by walking into them, they eventually died....They stayed in my apartment for idk how many session changes.

There's reasons I play invite/friends only lobbies now and keep chat on Discord. Modders have ruined the public lobby experience.

sh*t really? I was told that spending the money was my best bet because millions in my cash/bank would be a red flag, and it would've been f*cking impossible to kill myself enough times to get rid of it all. That's it, I'm lonely playing the game by myself but I can't trust a single person in these public sessions, so that's the end of me trying to do anything fun around other people. I'm getting tired of dealing with the responsibilities of being the CEO or MC president, so all I wanted was to be hired by someone else and just have fun with it, ya know...? (An added bonus is the satisfaction of earning something, instead of the "Well I have it I guess but now it's time to be paranoid about being banned")

TomilovSenya

And then you ask me why I hate cheating sh*theads. Sure, how can I not like them when they give money (and then you get a ban)?

This is insane. I hope Rockstar will finally move their sh*tty netcode to dedicated servers, 'cause they fixed the insurance fraud by disabling insurance. This won't work this time.

I don't want PC version to be like past-gen. They can release as many updates as they want on the newest platforms so I hope this sh*t will be fixed and all the actions made – withdrawn.

Any other time I'd say it's the thing why people call GTAO a grind game, but now I won't, 'cause better be safe than have a character with rank 8000 and billions on Maze Bank.

Ugh

I'm really just about ready to give up on GTA Online at this point. I figured I could just go back to Xbox One even though I haven't really played it since PC came out, but the controls feel off because of the framerate and it seems like all anybody does is fly jets around f*cking my sh*t up.

So either get my sh*t f*cked up by modders or sh*t f*cked up by jet kiddies. Great.

I have yet to see any example or proof of outfits being modifiable from another client.

I can see how it could be possible, but again, I have yet to see it actually be achieved.

It's really a shame this spread to PC menus. I'm sure some form of anti-cheat will come up shortly (though the effectiveness of it is likely to unfortunately be poor). With the way this stuff works, they'd have to rewrite a lot of how the game works in order to patch the method itself. What they'll likely try and do instead is just implement more anti-cheat methods to prevent the mods from being used as a whole.

For those who really don't want to be effected by this just play privately until it dies down or gets patched. You're bound to run into it at some point with how much this is being spread it seems. And for those worrying about bans, as far as I can tell it's not something they can detect and even if they had been previously, I'm sure they stopped due to the number of people being effected by this.

Hopefully Rockstar finds a solution. This is too big of a problem to ignore.

Now I'm scared to even do cargo work. God damn it.

DarkSavageDeathlyCloud

It kinda would be great if rockstar just simply finally decided to drop anti-cheat support for PC.

The reason why i think such a thing should happen, even though it might sound horrible to some people ?!

WELL BECAUSE THEY SUCK f*ckING BALLS AT ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTING ANTI-CHEAT !!!

Just turning any stat on PC into something meaningless period is better then this kind of dodgy bullsh*t !

If they just to that i will make sure to dowload my own cheat menu to both protect me from other script kids, give myself everything in game unlocked and just have a menu from which i can spawn any vehicle in any form/customization i want and just stop caring about money.

Really ANYTHING is better like how it has been going for the past year, waiting for rockstar to f*ck up things for players even more while adjusting my own playstyle all the time !

I am just so f*cking tired of doing that !!!!
