Honestly, I don't know what the <insert expletive here> I'm supposed to do to convince them that I don't, and haven't, cheated? All I can say is if I am getting treated like this, then pretty much everyone is at risk, unless you sing R*'s praises on YouTube. Then you can cheat all you want and they couldn't be arsed.

what i did for now is i widthdrawn all of my money into 2nd char's pocket and currently i'm roaming about with like a million in my bank. i hope my money is safe there.

But it's extremely hard to prove it! Nowadays I'm not sure that actual record of the entire gameplay process will be enough to convince R* sometimes.

 

^ It's actually funny how there are clauses in EULA against reverse-engineering and these guys are able to get their payments via Paypal.

I really feel for you man, and anyone who has had their bank account drained or character messed with.

 

What I would say is try calling the technical support telephone line if you haven't already.

 

It might be on the face of it the same as submitting an online ticket but the difference is you get to have a conversation. A lot of the ticket response look like they are standard cut and paste replies, which suggests they are at best skim reading the ticket. This kind if thing is not unique to R* it happens with a lot of big businesses online technical support functions.

 

On a phone call conversation you can ask questions back. That's different from the online ticket where they can give one response and close the ticket. It's not the done thing for a call centre to hang up on you provided you are not rude. If they say they are unable to verify the claim, ask them what data are they looking at. If they say they don't have the authority to make the change to your account, ask politely for escalation.

 

Some other tips - still raise a support ticket with video evidence links just before making the call and quote the reference number. Thereby they can't recommend you submit a ticket as an excuse to get you to put down the phone. Be polite but firm - don't take no for an answer and keep the conversation going. Try to build a rapport and make them realise they are talking to another person and you understand you are too - ask small talk type questions "this problem seems pretty wide spread are you getting a lot of calls like these?" - if they say yes "look I can sympathise it must be difficult to filter through which of these are genuine - but look I need to be able to properly make my case I've lost money here." Try to get them to identify with you and feel your sense of injustice.

 

I can't guarantee it will work. However with phone calls I've politely argued my way out of moderate sized bills and fees before. Never managed to do that with an email or an online ticket though. All you have to lose is the cost of the call. If you lost 80m though, at my rate of earning in game that's about 14 full twenty four hour days worth of playing. I'd try all the avenues available to try to get it back.

well to squash any speculation and the spread of misinformation I have only heard this in a couple of Twitch chats that I visit.. Yup. I google'd at the time and couldn't find anything so it can be BS so to that I will admit to f'in up there and will label my post as nonsense until official word comes out, if any. As for the streamer showcasing the modded gta v it is XpertTheif. Only came by his stream a couple of times when he was playing the modded game and a couple of other streamers that others host on Twitch. They usual have thousands of people watching. These days R* official stream is lucky to get 500 if they don't have a celebrity to help.

Cool, thanks for admitting your sources. I mean, it could have truth in it depending on who said it. But on the other hand, somebody could have been making it up.

To be fair of the R* streams, they come on during the afternoon when lots of people are at work or school and cannot tune in when it's live. If you see the ones they have up on YouTube they usually get at least 60,000+ views. The archived ones on Twitch get a lot less which is fishy to me. But I have no idea what they count as "views". I think they only count a view if a person watches the entire stream in one sitting.

 

Well Twitch is all about the live experience, the archived videos are usually watched only by people who had to leave a watching a stream part way through and want to catch up on what they missed, it's not nearly as fun as an actual live stream as you can't interact with the streamer, people who weren't there usually only watch the 30 second clips that show all the fun, silly, and/or cool bits of action.

 

R* would also be stupid to shut them down, over the last few days GTAV was the most viewed game on Twitch for a good several hours each day (when these streamers are on), beating out League of Legends (the usual top game each day), yesterday Lirik alone had over 64000 people watching (which is up from his usual 30 to 40 thousand), and other streamers were hitting up between 2000 to 5000 viewers each.

Wouldn't surprise me if this boosted sales for GTAV again, R* should be encouraging this, not blocking or banning people over it.

1.) when is this "blabla" internal money sweeping? im waiting 10 days now!!

2.) they say "play as normal blabla". but when i spent 1$ ... i will be banned.

I don't know if you should be waiting for the money sweep. It doesn't really work that well.

 

I got about 50 million's worth even before I was lvl 50 (late 2015/early 2016). I was pretty happy when I got that money and I spent it all. Later, when earning money became easy, I built it back up, and sent a ticket so R* can have it back, and my account not be banned. I got an automated response, something like " we occasionally do sweeps, keeping the in game environment fair ".

 

There were several sweeps last year, they put it in the support page. No money was removed from my account. I'm lvl 432 now. Not banned yet. So I'd say you're pretty safe, and you don't have to wait for them to remove the money.

Yeah, they are at it again. And to think that their members pay 100$ to get the full access combo out of their menu is ridiculous. I know Rockstar is kinda slow when it comes to this type of stuff but really know, they have a serious security breach in the game and for the past 8 or so days nothing has been done, I mean I am waiting for an official statement and/or a patch that will at least slow down these guys cause right now no one wants to risk their accounts being messed with.

Well, In order to fully cover this security breach they need to, first, obtain the copy of the menu itself (meaning - to contact the Force Menu team and actually buy the software). After that - the menu itself is heavily obfuscated, I haven't manage to deobfuscate the version 7.1 yet. The Force Menu guys don't look like amateurs. So, it's expected that the research WILL take some time.

 

You can't just send to R* some youtube video and tell "hey, fix this s**t". From my experience, it doesn't work that way.

 

They should be able to make a hospital bill hotfix though.

BTW, is there a user complaint that we can upvote right now? I didn't see any links.

What, missions? Just start it up from an invite only session and grind them alone or with friends. You don't need randoms for that. :)

Its what I'm doing these days, a low level I'm helping with his heists received 54 Mio from a script kiddie in a few minutes when we respawned from the final, crazy.

With Invite-Only, after you finish a Contact Mission, Race, etc. (even doing a round at the Ammu-nation gun range), and choose to return to free roam, GTA Online will often drop you right back into a public session.

 

And all it takes is a few seconds to run into serious trouble.

^^ don't vote freemode, just esc out of the voting screen. I always end up back in the inv only that way,however voting for freemode sometimes does what you experience.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, what they are doing is clearly illegal. Without trying to put a value judgement on how serious a crime it is, that's a fact. It deprives R* of potential income (buy a menu instead or Shark Cards) and if used to remove someone's GTA $s bought with shark cards, that's theft. I'm no fan of micro transactions this is simply an objective assessment of the legal situation.

 

If R* wanted to I'm damn sure they can get a court order so the we hoster of the gta5hax site, or YouTube and the ISP are forced to reveal the real life identity of the culprits.

 

Unfortunately it might be a question of what country they are in as to whether they could be taken to court themselves or not.

Problem is, R* cannot engage in Legal activities, that is Take Twos responsibility(like with FiveM), and good luck convincing Take Two to do anything that is beyond their daily schedule.

I am not sure about this, but didn't they change their outsourced Support system a while ago?

I think after your security incident, and some other problems, they dropped Pole To Win.

humm...no. I always respawn in invite-only after missions and Heist setups if I join from invite-only. Though I respawn in random public lobby after Heist finals. I'M on PC

Disagree - it's different because you get to have a conversation. I think you are looking at this from a purely technical perspective and completely discounting the human element.

 

It's not gauranteed to work, but nothing is. However, in my experience whether it's work IT, my ISP, or Electric company, having a phone call has a much higher success rate than an email or online ticket. Tickets can be skim read and not given proper attention. On the phone you can keep someone in conversation and improve your chances they understand and give the issue proper attention.

As I said, nothing is gauranteed to work. We already have variable success rates reported on support tickets with no discernible pattern to them, most likely the only difference was a different agent handled it.

 

It can depend on how you handle the phone call and who picks up. I wouldn't say don't raise another ticket, but if I'd be affected by this, I'd use all avenues available.

This is what happens when you prioritize targeting hackers who spawn money rather than hackers who actually ruin the game for everyone else, not even reporting them will do anything, they'll still be able to hack and grief for weeks or even months without being detected.

 

I was wishing this bites Rockstar in the ass during livestreams like before, not the players, otherwise solutions would've been more effective.

I am not sure about this, but didn't they change their outsourced Support system a while ago?

I think after your security incident, and some other problems, they dropped Pole To Win.

They didn't, every support agent replied to my support tickets is part of "PTW" organization.
