Man, those random crashes. Literally every my game session ends with game crash (non cheater related I mean, I mean those random ones). Always the same, screen freezes for exact 3 seconds, then boom. Always randomly, yes. Guys, we all need to report it to R* feedback page. Shame we dont have crash logs, but from my observation those crashes happen too often to too many people. Invite only sessions finally became safe from being crashed by cheaters, but now game be like "fine, I'll do it myself" and randomly sending you to check out your desktop wallpaper lord give me strength

I surprising haven't had any random crashes. I am however running an older AMD driver as the new one breaks reflections in certain games (GTA included) which is a massive oversight.

Nothing major. Just pointing out that I haven't seen this message in a long time. Hopefully it actually did detect and kick a cheater out.

I’m probably going to load up my PC character tomorrow, I assume the hackers spawning stuff with mod menus still exists?

Crashers are back.... Cheaters who has padi menu, they still can crash your game just for no reason. So r* they just fixed only remote option not whole of crash system to players via menu function

it's probably one of the many overloads you can do to get the game to crash

Maybe, but it could be a rarely... I just went to public session and there is typical cheaters as always was active, and one of them checked players and got me to crash

what I'm saying is that whatever method the menu is using for crashing is probably new

 

there are a lot of ways to send invalid data to someone or whatever...

I have seen that message at least three times this week, I must also say that almost in every session there is at least someone with a mod menu

I assume the crashes are caused by Rockstar running p2p trough their check procedures 

 

Fix one thing, break another. That's the philosophy here

That's a modder kicking someone from the session. They can manipulate the feed message to say whatever.

There's around a billion ways to crash yourself in this game. It's never going to get fully fixed even if they tried more than they do now.

I still think some of you are just seeing the random PC crashing issue and noticing it more, thus reporting it lol. People have been making threads about them since that out of band update (the one that had the TODO description) between Criminal Enterprises and Drug Wars.

Tbh, Spider, yesn't, cuz there is an issue my friend group and I collectively have, in which the application ceases to function after joining a session. 

 

I rarely play the game alone, and we had a real phase, before and after the patch. We played a week straight in invite only while all that cheater debacle was going on, without issues. I did not get a single crash during that week. Now, since the security update, my friends and I have a, let's say 22% chance ,that the app will just crash once we've entered a session with a friend in it. 

 

What I think, is that the developer added some security code around the p2p system to prevent ip leakage or remote join, and whatever additional lines were added cause the application to freeze and exit. 

 

That's a phenomenon I am able to quantify and compare to a previous state of the game, pre-security update, where this specific instance would not occur. 

 

I extrapolate from the appearance of this issue, that some new bugs snuck into the code. The evidence and sample size at hand suggests that this isn't confirmation bias.

Absolutely not. Everything was just fine until the 1st feb patch. I've been playing 24/7 since at least criminal enterprises, crashes literally never happened before with such frequency, I mean, I even discerned a pattern - crash happens after some rapid session changes. I know what I'm talking about, december, January - everything was alright.

Ese es un fenómeno que puedo cuantificar y comparar con un estado anterior del juego, antes de la actualización de seguridad, donde esta instancia específica no ocurriría. 

 

Extrapolo de la apariencia de este problema, que algunos errores nuevos se colaron en el código. La evidencia y el tamaño de la muestra disponibles sugieren que esto no es un sesgo de confirmación.

The same thing happens to me and two friends, the only difference is that before the patch only I played in sessions by invitation and I never had problems with crashes or stutters, as it happens to me now

Could explain why the previous week i had a crash every 3 hours and this week each hour.

Edit: never in races last week, several in races this week.

I think y'all should create a new thread with a detailed poll and try to collect some statistics about crashes. At least these will not be complaints in the void, but a link for support with some significant information.

I play on PC and after the last security update I noticed an increased load on cooling system, sometimes the game freezes, and frame rate drops to 0, but I didn't see a single crash.

 

In any case, this has nothing to do with cheaters. They may have crashed your game before, they may still doing it now. Nothing changed.

I play in IO sessions alone or with friends. Very rare in full public sessions.

But this is not enough to make any conclusions. It would be too easy to blame cheaters only. Too many crash reports. Need statistics on a large sample.

I didn't want to blame cheaters, on the contrary, see if just an invite only type has R* cloud issue that cause crash. Maybe the people whose game don't crash play in public or something. But as long as crashes completely random we cannot get any significant information or no conclusion at all. Cheaters are in the past, the problem is, my game crashes from invite-only these days with guardian on. so yea, I'm more inclined to cloud issue

I tried this and it works for me. I think the constant spam of messages from MODDERS or something was more than usual. That's the one change I noticed. This constant crashing only happens to me when there's a lot of people in the public lobby. I was in a public lobby by myself and the game runs fine. Whenever I play in IO it's all fine. Only crashes in a lobby of a lot of players and constant spam messages.

well, I contacted support in hope they'll acknowledge the problem. They suggested to verify the game files () well, I will, but unlikely something will be detected off. Now I want to be assured that random crashes really bother the players, I mean, it really getting on my nerves, as I said, my game crashes with frustrating frequency. But is it like this for others? I thought yes, regular random crashes are terrorizing players, but now I see more and more people that say everything is fine, which is concerning. What is happening in the world?

r* wont acknowledge sh*t for at least 6 months. also yes i have experienced my game crashing frequently, as if im getting constantly crashed.

As found by @logan-mcgee, the recent patch build ID is "1.0.2824.0_A" suggesting a Part B of the patch is arriving soon as seen by the qalive updates on SteamDB.

Anyone else have a blue tahoma spawning outside of franklins aunt's house that crashes the game if you try to enter it or walk into it, in SP on PC?
