Always fun when developers pay people for code to add their sick and twisted ideas to a menu and then release such a feature - which has almost as much impact as being kicked from games with the FoG function(s) - to kids who are definitely going to abuse such a thing.

I'm not really sure what made cheat developers so hell-bent on causing issues for other players - do they really think all those players that get affected by the drama caused actually go off and buy their menu? The one featured there doesn't even have all the best protections available either. Bah, it must attract some people at least and when there's free, external options that have the stats, money and unlocks covered, I guess they feel they have to "shine" in other ways without having the creativity for it so just resort to f*cking everyone over instead - because that's always worked since 2015... :/

Rockstar's anti cheat works in certain ways and doing certain things which are possible in V, may not be possible in RDO as they're known to trigger bans in the latter but not the former, but I guess Rockstar did give up on PC for GTA V - I'd be surprised if Rockstar continued supporting PC versions of games and continued to develop future titles for that system and instead just "take the easy option" and only work on stuff for consoles.
/sigh /rant

Should I buy a Series X and get GTA online on that? are there cheats on that?

So I can't use Texture Mods in GTA online but 14 year olds can hack and mod to their will?

It is just sad. Cheaters roam free on PC - and I will never ever buy any R* games for online on PC. Red Dead Pink Unicorn RIP.

Rip gta on pc. V never got any dlc for single player. Online and Shark Card sales. Rip R*

Sad but true.

1) Very unlikely / no.

2) You can't use any modifications in GTA Online without risking your account getting suspended or banned. This sentence is 100% true even for mod menus that patch the anti-cheat, because you can't prevent some Rockstar Staff joining your session and swinging the hammer. In fact they should probably have more staff monitoring sessions and not only responding to money drops.

Tonight I was forced an invite - which automatically got accepted - when I was the only player in a firewall-locked public session.

So it seems players can still / can do that which is annoying.

Here's the thing... if this "remote feature" sh*t doesn't get touched by Rockstar (patched and prevented) then it really does prove that they don't care and they've basically just tossed this game to the dirt (on PC).

It's obvious R* doesn't wanna spend on better anti-cheat. They rather get lazy and be done with it.

There is literally zero cheater in the The Crew 2 game and if Ubi can have a very good anti-cheat, then R* can considering their net income.

But one thing is for certain: due to R*'s continues silence and not fixing the bugs/glitches and all other bullsh*t left in the game, I'm completely done with this stupid f*cking company.

I'm very glad I didn't bought RDR2 as they do not deserve my money.

I'm not concerned about V on PC, I'm a whole lot more concerned about the continues re-releasing V to next consoles of a 7 years old game. For real? GTFO!

And as for the childish cheaters, they are seriously damaged and deranged. I'm speechless.

If I spent money on Shark Cards which I never have never will, then my money will just go into executives pockets instead of making the game better.

Exactly! Their greed will only continue to grow and in the end, what did you achieve? Nothing, it's a true waste of money.

Buying beer that in 2 hours will be splashing up porcelain is a waste of money.

Buying top end skunk that will have worn off when you wake up is a waste of money.

Buying a Ferrari that will go from being an awesome toy to a regular money pit is a waste of money.

Buying a console that will go out of date and need replacing is a waste of money.

Buying nice food that in 24 hours will be brown sludge is a waste of money.

Not everything is about money. Why are so many people so judgemental of others these days? I have time to play the game and make my money, but I have no issue whatsoever with anyone who works hard, has a family and wants to chuck a few bucks at Rockstar for some 8 mil therapy when it suits them.

Do you honetly think you would have had any of these updates without the fish card buyers? Rockstar would have given up on it long ago.

It's the fish card people who are supporting you playing for free, one imagines you might be more gracious to them.

Google "how economics works" or perhaps for something more simple try "is there any link between me paying taxes and there being roads or my bins being emptied".

The millenial "but surely life just happens because the tooth fairy makes it happen and I want it all for nothing because ME" generation strikes again.

Get real, bro. The stuff you mentioned are true stuff, not like digital bullcrap.

Buying nice food that in 24 hours will be brown sludge is a waste of money.

So you want to starve to death...? What kind of question is that??

The problem of your question is simply: common sense. Buying a shark card with 100$ real money won't suit you enough for a med-end yatch. A few Karuma's will probably be enough🤣

No, simply no. It's all about common sense. All that 100$ paper could have been used for better stuff instead for digital bullsh*t that will go in true waste, no matter how hard you try to justify it. And now, instead of R* to implement better anti-cheat, proper testing and more sh*t to improve the gameplay, the money will end in executives their pockets instead of improving the game.

If you really wanna support the game then buy their stocks instead of shark cards, at least with stocks you get your money back and some more.

I know, I was just kidding lol

The best to buy stocks was probably in 2013. Or if lots of patience, 2008. But yes, agree to study first how the stock market works.

It can break you or make you.

I haven't played gta in a long time but recently the last two times I confronted a scripkiddo my whole PC crashed instantly, not only the game.

Is that something new that they can do now? Or just I never encountered it before?

i feel like the people writing that stuff off as "nothing new on pc" don't realize modders have more power now than ever before. Like, this is a whole new level of f*cked up incompetence from r*, even surpassing back when they could ruin your singleplayer games. Since now they can do not only that again, but practically dox you if they really wanted to.

Nah, not windows crash. My whole PC turned off. Like they can create some critical error that crashes your whole pc. Like it was overheating instantly or something like that.

For example I called a mugger on a modder and 2s later my pc just turns off on its own. Maybe they are weaponizing some sort of a bug thats already in the game? I don't know.

Was wondering if anyone else encountered something like that before.

Not to be 'that guy' but in fairness its nothing new, but these are things that used to be exclusive to (highest level of) paid cheats but since recently they show up in free menu's (read: the 'top tier' paid menu's have figured out another way in which they can justify their cost, so i'd be more worried about what tools those have now)

Doing an whois query on an IP is a long cry from doxing somebody, these details shown in some mod menu's are exactly that, details attached to their IP that are publicly available, and for a lot of ISP's these details just point to the main office and the 'abuse' email account of said ISP. Watch that DarkViperAU video again, he titled the video along the lines of "hackers can steal your private details" (maximum clickbait) but then if you look at the few available details in that one screenshot used in the video its literally what you get from an IP whois query, and those details are public by design (and again, for most of the world, pointing to their ISP)

Interesting. I had a time where my PC somehow got a BSOD and was not sure if it was my MSI Afterburner because I downclocked my GPU or some deranged modder did that.

my point being that it was made immensely easier to dig up people's personal information than other means, which seems kind of strange considering this is a video game, and if they truly wanted to (which wouldn't surprise me since a majority of gta online's playerbase are petty mentally deranged sub 50 iq morons) they could use that as a basis to dig up more, even worse info on you

also don't think i was targeting you specifically or anything, i've seen a lot of people on reddit and discords who would continue to be r* apologists if they turned into a greedy, toxic workplace that refused to communicate with their die hard fans

oh...

Yeah the truth about IP addresses is that any Peer to Peer service can have that issue - other people can see what your info is.

GTA Online certainly wasn't the first game where that sort of thing was exploited. I will say however, GTA V's community more than any previous community, has been one of the worst, and that probably builds on the idea of "GTA Online being cancer". So whilst GTA may not have been the first, it definitely gets some bad light in these respects.

Rockstar published an article detailing some information about an upcoming GTA Online update this summer and included some information regarding their stance on cheating, modding and exploits.

GN5kznW.png

Source of sauce :- https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61639/GTA-Online-and-Red-Dead-Online-Updates-Coming-Soon

I would implore Rockstar to consider making some quite fundamental changes to how the Social Club ID number is attained and the various functions cheaters can use via their menus / cheats, against other players, with that information.

Maybe we're asking too much because of the system that Rockstar has designed, but come on, for goodness sake - the ID number can be gotten through some really, really easy stuff anyone can have (without mods or exploits) via Google Chrome or something, because the ID number can be gotten right from the Social Club website.

Not good. If passwords can be "locked up" and out of reach from the cheaters, why can't the ID number?

It's too late now anyway for anyone's ID number that has been logged by cheaters so they can mess with them whenever they want, and I guess "scrambling" or re-assigning a new ID number is out of the question this far into things.

<Sigh> ahh well baby steps I guess.

Reading that at the end of the update gave me back a shred of hope that the Epic giveaway was a honeypot strategy 🤞 (baiting cheaters to build/train an anti-cheat system)

Yeah they're committed to stopping cheaters. The one and only kind of cheater that matters to them, the ones who drop money. R* wants us to be attacked by others, it's the core of their game's design, so they don't give a f*ck about cheaters who just blow people up or crash them.
