Sorry for posting three times in a row.

I have this idea that could help a little bit.

What if we ask the admins/mods to open up a new sub forum like they always do with new DLCs ?

In this new sub forum, users can make threads with the title being the cheater name and post a video of him doing cheats.

Then when another user visit this forum to report this cheater he encountered, he may find out someone else already made a thread about the cheater then he post on that same thread with his video evidence.

This way we get multiple evidences which pretty much confirm this dude is a cheater and help R* a little bit.

Before you quote my post saying "uhh no we shouldn't be doing Rockstar job", just know that if you were in Rockstar position then you won't be able to do crap about it.

They would still need to sort through a bunch of false reports such as people who get reported for aimbot for no reason (such as myself sometimes). and a bunch of glitches that just randomly occur that can seem like a cheat such as for whatever reason the heavy sniper can one shot for literally no reason and will usually keep doing so until you switch sessions (This includes high levels with the strength stat maxed).
People who teleport across the map using the blue job blips such as myself get called modders because I decided to use a exploit/feature.

There is more than likely a bunch of other stuff and a majority if it is just things not everyone understands such as varying amount of armor and speed on vehicles due to glitches/bugs/"features" and the list more than likely goes on and on and on.

I reported in both ways btw, but don't trust neither method tbh.

Sorry, what's the new exploit here?

Not entirely new, but still - spoofing someone's else SC profile.

Since the modders can change their name to look like anyone else, posting the names is weaponizing hearsay. Someone pisses someone else off on this forum? Just frame them! Change your name to theirs and make a video.

R* would very rightly want nothing to do with "evidence" from a forum.

I agree with you Fun. In my personal tactic for fight with this cheaters:

1. If i see cheater or dude who boost (with cheats for sure) lvl, GTA$ etc - send this retard in my personal black list in Social Club.

2. Report cheater with reason Exploits.

3. Vote for kick.

4. Send special info in game chat: «Cheater Name Reported cheater! Press ESC or P - Network - Players - Nickname - Report - Exploits - OK.» (it long typing each time, but you can make specific text script)

What a results from my current tactic? First, cheater marked in my black list and when he join in session i can see specific mark what he in my blacklist. Stupid matchmacking system in GTA Online allowed join players who in blacklist. I don't spend time for find another proofs and just do steps 2-4. Second, cheater who read my attention randomly leave from session or stay here, but he guaranteed gets another 1 or more reports from other players.

I send some cheaters in ban with my video proofs, but Rockstar Games close this practic. So sad and annoying, cuz it most 100% proof in most situations. They have a bunch ways for check it. Early R* manual checked reports with video...

GTA Forums need open subsection with moderators, when we can add cheaters like GTAF users or other (who was busted for cheats).

I understand when current situation with fight against cheaters seems like fight windmills. But if you do nothing, these scum will bury our game.

P.S. My tactic against cheaters works and you can do same.

Cheers,

Kesha_F1

You play on PC? Can you PM me your blacklist?

Like Kesha mentioned, as well as maintaining these blacklists, we on PC have to make our own ways and make our own gaming sessions enjoyable. For example, when me and group of my friends/crew member join in we create a so called safe public session which is monitored and controlled by that private public lobby tool which acts like a good enough firewall since ordinary public sessions are a no go in this state. Usually crew leader or me or anyone who has this tool ready and wants to act as a host of the public session we are all in.
Works like a charm, no players who cheat and pester others and it is generally a positive and relaxing environment to play in and do some business sales/supply runs, BB activities or general freeroaming with other friendly players.
After so many hours, heck years that I have put into this game I still, and my friends too, find this game very interesting and amusing in a special way and I won't allow some petty cheaters to ruin my positive experience and good time that I have in this game.

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.

The prevalence of VPNs makes it hard for the community to fight back against cheaters. We really cant go by IP addresses.

We cant use usernames because exploits allow them to spoof the username.

What we need is for Rockstar to make the rockstar social ID that each player logged in as visible. We could use that as a primary ID for blacklisting. Also the ip should be visible in the game.

Then an external utility which does pretty much what the cheats do in terms of memory scrubbing, expect it only scrubs the rockstar id and user ip, and managing the windows firewall rule. Then if someone is observed cheating they can mark in the external tool, which then all the people running it get that update and everyone's firewall rules block that user.

It would be very effective and would salvage this game.

Essentially it would be doing what we have been asking for for years -- to make an invite only session that you can do all MC/CEO activities.

It amazes me that rockstar cant provide a public session that is as cheat free as the majority of games, yet they still lock core activities in public sessions.

I get it, running an illegal business isnt easy or risk free. There needs to be a pvp component. But when you cant play for more than 30 minutes without a cheater affecting your gameplay, that is unacceptable.

The IP address of other users in a session should not be exposed in any way. People DDOS other players as it is. The way GTAO works is absolutely insane.

R*'s anti-cheat is cancer, they seriously can NOT DO ANYTHING!

Kill a Oppressor Mk2 dork player with your Deluxo, Ruiner2000 or Scramjet and he/she be like "report!" And then... some other lifeless and sad mod menu addict will use your name to blamekill the entire lobby for many times.

Would be great if all cheating "modders" were as easy to spot as a few days ago when I spawned in. lol

Whenever you see someone with the CASH crewtag (PC), the chance of the player being in an Uberboost.net (money) cheat crew is 90% or higher. 😉

You would be right in thinking this person is modding. Changing the colour of your name tag has been in since launch. I've always thought modders were dumb, but making it obvious like this and what @DentureDynamite posted takes one step further. I personally haven't met these kind of people for a while as I'm avoiding public sessions due to the stalking problems and all the other issues that have been going on for ages. It is highly unlikely this will ever change, which is a shame really. If RDR2 does actually come to PC, I really hope it doesn't have as mention issues, but I won't hold my breath, even though I won't buy it. That however does not mean I don't care about other people's experience

First time in a public session yesterday after a long break of them to see for myself the current conditions. Of course, modders are still as bad and stupid. But what I want to raise is the issue of chat spammers. Through the use of a mod menu or a macro. Now, the case I had was someone, who uses a barcode for a name, which pretty much somes up what kind of player they are, with a macro setup to spam chat with either "cry" or just balnk text. Is it time Rockstar start putting in some measures to prevent people from spamming chat, similar to how livestreams work with slow mode and timing out people who spam? I want to know people's opinions on the matter in this thread as it does somewhat relate to the anti-cheat and the chaos of PC. For me, I'd put a system in place that prevents players who say the same thing, let's say 3 times, and then the game issues them a 1 minute timeout. This timeout could then have a cooldown attached to it for a certain period of time and is used to check whether the player has continued to spam. If the player then continues, their timeout is extended gradually at start, but then is set to 48 minutes across all sessions. In a way, it could work in a way that is similar to bad sport and the time used. The problem however is that modders could potentially abuse this and prevent legit players from typing in the chat. It becomes difficult to think of how to approach this due to the lack of security that is used.

Points for valiant effort, but this would be the easiest to bypass: by writing a macro that sends three different lines instead of one line three times.

In the lines of: t <enter> Cry <enter> t <enter> Cry sucka <enter> t <enter> Cry hard <enter>

Ye wise men of this forum can correct me if I'm wrong, but since the game is P2P, there's really no other way for sessions' active monitoring than implementing it through everyone's game copy, and I doubt it would take too long for ye code moles to learn about new measures like what you suggested. A better way MIGHT be analyzing all chat data (I assume it's sent to R*, at least, since I've read there have been some chat bans on consoles) to recognize accounts that spam urls or who puke rows in chat faster anyone could possibly type (=macros), and then taking some sort of measures.

GTAO is what it is; kind of like a Swiss army knife, but instead of designing one from the start, they made a knife, and when it became megapopular, they started to attach scissors, saws and sh*t to it, and now it cuts everyone deep. But can't blame them too much for it, cause it was never going to be a MacGyver knife with the way it started. One thing I DO wonder is that how much effort they have actually put to analyzing all the data they gather and using it to wipe problematic accounts from the game. With timestamped player transaction logs, chat logs etc. I find it hard to believe they couldn't do better than what they are doing now. And I'm not talking about tons of manual labor here, but a few people to build and develop tools to spot certain specific patterns in the data - work that could very well be used with later titles, too.

Oh well, back to grind.

- You have to remember that R* had very little experience with multiplayer when they made GTA:O, all they had to go on was the multiplayer of GTA4, and thats in no way comparable to the task they set themselves for GTA5, so thats why its sorta lack-luster about trusting clients, the whole game is built on P2P because at the time they had no way of knowing if it would become successful (GTA4 multiplayer kinda failed) and building a serverpark is pricey, even for R*

rdr2o shows that r* hasn't learned and is still using p2p, if rdr2 ever comes to pc it'll have the exact same fate as gtao

Man, to hell with that. I'm enjoying Control (your Finnish boys and girls are awesome for doing the job) and waiting for more tracks for Dirt rally 2.0 plus there's a new WRC game here (Finland is okay there too). Won't touch this thing with a stick unless I'm absolutely bored to death.

New game launcher might have stepped things up a little bit in terms of anti-cheat. This is just early speculation right now, but I can tell you for sure, I can't get rid of the GTA5.exe intro legal screens anymore by changing "logos.bik" to "pogos.bik", which is unfortunate, as the launcher tells me that the game requires an update.

In related news, supposedly the Steam version is now running on GTA Online v1.47, whilst the Social Club version remains up-to-date on the proper version, 1.48.

The new launcher is causing various issues from cloud saves to game crashes, so approach with caution. Mind you, there's no work-around yet, as the launcher update is mandatory.

^just got a 253 MB update for GTA V on Steam.

But I'm 100% sure the game version was 1.48 too even before this update.
