The final literation of the old Definitive Edition is here! GTA 3: Director's Cut focuses on improving the old but gold GTA 3 by adding stuff like cars, pedestrians, map modifications and new features, while not touching the original feelings heavily.

-improved main character models

-improved Give Me Liberty

-reduced rewards

-20 added cars (4 not being spawned on streets - for future uses)

-binco and zip shops

-clothes changing script

-working soda machine

 

Plans for future versions:

-remove car crash bonuses (WIP)

Definitive Edition ain't a great name either; that's why I thought this name would be the most suitable.

 

Feel free to come with a better name, though!

So sorry to post here again, but I got a bug:

 

playerx's texutre is white.HPUt2De.png

 

UPDATE: even more peds are white. do I have to remove everything from txd.img?

Add the necessary files to gta3.IMG and then delete txd.IMG and txd.Dir. When the game starts again, it'll rebuild the txd by decompressing textures from gta3.IMG.

You can't spell 'Director's Cut' without III Aircraft.

Yes we can, because it isn't compatible with 1.1.

I'm not russian, so I can't talk there at all.

I can at least try to help. I barely know some Russian. But the problem is that he's not that active.

 

That's another problem too... We can't do much about it.

 

 

 

Talking about helicopters, I know DimZet did some for 1.1 but they aren't compatible with the vehicle audio loader script (game crashes once entering a heli), but that script is necessary for making cars sound properly and not crash the game when spawning, so we can't do much about it, and helis probably won't be added.

What's the advantage of 1.1 over 1.0 anyway?

Apart from some bug fixes, I'm not too sure. If the limit adjuster would be compatible with 1.0, I would've been using that since long time ago. That or using another limit adjuster that does what Vitlgt's does.

In others words, we're sticking to 1.1 for now. It's not debatable. If you want to use our mod, it's simple. Use the patch.

New version released!

 

Features:

-updated limit adjuster for better compability

-soda machine feature (restores health and adds 25% more health; if you get hit you can't restore it back by picking a health bar, only by getting another drink; can be found at 8Ball's for $25. Press TAB once you're inside the marker)

-clothes changing feature (WIP; press PageDown to change the clothes; Don't play any mission with any model other than the default one or game will crash).

 

You must install this version on a clean setup of GTA 3. Don't worry, main.scm isn't changed from the other version so you can still play the missions from the other version.

 

 

 

helis are one step ahead :)
