Good question. It could've been done in two weeks of religiously eating peyote plants for 8-10 hours a day.

Outside of that though players who move alot of special cargo or do racing will earn a bunch of easy and fast RP even when those two activities are not 2/3x.

It all depends what you consider legit yourself. If you use those abusive methods, where you can even farm rp afk, that can be very fast. There are people, who already hit 8k with those wanted level/afk capture, stunt race spin jump, eating all peyotes at once etc exploits, but you know, how "legitimate" is that? For the most part it seems like if you don't use menu, everything flies.

I have a couple friends who've been religiously playing since launch and they all hover around 2200 now, if an account is from 2013 i will believe up to level 2500, any higher then that (or similar level but less old account) and i will just assume that they either used cheats (directly or indirectly) or that they have been playing 'glitched' jobs or whatnot to level much faster then normally possible.

That said i dont really care, since i play on PC i see unrealistic levels all the time, and i mostly just laugh when i see them, if somebody's level 2k+ is legit (read: took 7 years) then i honestly feel like they've been playing to much, but who am i to judge, i have several thousand hours in the game too. If their level is obviously fake i just chuckle, apparently they didn't realize how anybody over level 500 is still considered to be a cheater by most players, especially with the recent influx of new players, nice job shooting yourself in the foot by buying a high level thinking it would command respect

If you're nutty enough and really don't have/want a life, and even posting on these forums seems too much work, you can get to legit 1000 in about 18 months! I had an unemployed friend back on PS3 days who got to level 800 in a year. People I know who were character wiped a month of so ago are already level 200+.

Yeah, I can't do it either. When you're doing something for fun, the levels tick by very quickly in the background, but grinding for a level that Rockstar doesn't even acknowledge or care about? Yuck!

Think about it: do Rockstar really want high-level gamers clogging up their servers when they don't buy shark cards? Yes and no because you're still actively marketing their game and will buy future updates, but they don't care about our rank.

I'm one of the highest legit levels in the crew that I tend to roll with, but it doesn't command respect anymore, but probably the opposite for wasting so much time in the same video game.

Nicely put here: you are marketing their game. Other low rank players want to be like you and all the toys that you have, that's all you're good for, according to R*. Rank 1000 achievement? Special items? Bring em on, these cash cards.

Well, in 2017 or even '18 that mattered much more. Now, not really. The game is 5 y.o even on PC, a lot of time even for casuals to rank up with all these 3x events.

Like I even saw a guy here in this topic eating the peyote plants and then playing with the menu so his trip ends and he's right there...not at the hospital. I don't even do sh*t like that. I just play the game and shoot for 1st place where ever I go.. Do tons of racing and VIP work.. I try to lose every star I get and the word suicide is not in my vocabulary. Freemode is for weirdos

 

Now if you want to get down to the nitty gritty... How would you like to base the "record" off... Account creation or Days spent in GTA Online itself?

Sorry to put a damper on your achievement, but endlessly playing a video game for a year or so isn't much to be proud of, is it? You seem to have found a really good rhythm and are very persistent, so I will add you to the list on page 1 when you get there, just remember to post your details when you're ready.

Oh just needless chit chat with the guy... Forget I said it. Anyway.. I actually try to remind players online that it isn't a competition and in fact (in my opinion) GTA is a culture centered around respect... But that falls on deaf ears.  And by no means is this actually achievement... It's just been something to help me cope with a great loss in life I've had.. Blowing off steam and filling a void. Very depressing

 

Now I could write an actual book about gta online if you really wanted me to. Overall though, it's been a qmostly negative experience by way of 51/49... As I see it. Rank 1000 is one of the more respectable or whatever milestones in gta online. But I am truly happy its almost over. This game needs to die!!!  People are far too judgmental in this game and this milestone is purely for me. 

 

Overall it will be nice to join the ranks of 1k. Maybe I'll buy one of the unicorn masks I'll leave it up to you if you wanna add me to the first post. And I can't wait to share my info.. Thanks for your time

I miss calculated going from 999 to 1000 when Deadline was x3 and ended up catching the rank mid-match and I don't even think it showed me the 1k so I'm going to get a screen of rank 1010 like tomorrow.

Today my player has amassed a solid 50 million RP! 200 days into GTA Online... Through all the ups and downs... I still log in.. To find the cheesiest mutha f*ckas around.  

 

Anyone have any legit goals for this year? For starters, it looks like I will make my 100th sale from the Hangar and officially close that business as well!

As I posted on Twitter on the 1st, my only "goal" is to reach level 3000 on my main (single char, not just combined), but seeing these trash bonus weeks R* have been giving us so far since Cayo it looks like it might be hard(er) to achieve. Currently sitting at 2565 which means I need ~70.6m RP to get there - not impossible, a big chunk of it will get covered soon as peyote plants are back but I'd love to see some 2x crates, 3x KoTH and 2/3x races again too. Been a while.

 

Goddamnit, why do I still love this game so much? :c
