Within reason. This thread has survived until now because of its structure and focus on achieving LL1KC. How does a good kill/death ratio achieve that, exactly? Isn't a decent KDR mostly achieved in freemode without any obvious RP objectives, mostly focused on pinning other people back so that they can't achieve their financial or RP goals? I appreciate that kills achieved is an essential part of video gaming and inherently linked to your rank and RP in GTA online, but usually it's associated with an aggressive type of behaviour that stops people ranking up and earning decent money, and that's why many people grind solo, do heists or contact missions, and avoid the dreaded freemode melee.

 

My suggestion is that you use an established thread such as:

OR

...and come back to this thread when you specifically want to talk about rank and the possibility of achieving Level 1000.

u seem really defensive about this club. getting kills online doesn't necessarily stop people from earning rp. if the people who are getting killed don't wana be there theyed find another lobby or do the nat type glitch to have the session to themselves. gta put weapons in the game for them to be used. all I did was give the dude with the kd of 7 a compliment..i think he did really well. theres a time for killing and theyres a time for getting k/d. forgive me for saying so but isn't your k/d above 3?

I don't think anyone intentionally tries to derail topics, not really, but they naturally get derailed through banter. We are really good at self-regulating ourselves, but someone still has to do it.

 

I'm at Level 1228, personally, just by playing a few hours in the evening and not wandering into other games too much. 2X stunt races are awesome for RP right now, if you or the host sets race completion to about 7-8 minutes to maximise pay and RP output, or by setting a race to 3 laps instead of 2, which really makes a difference. I've been getting up to RP 10k  for some races.

What would you guys say is a legitimate high level?

 

The other day, I saw a level 3000+.  Surely must be a modded account.  I can't see how anyone could be that level legitimately.

 

I've seen level 1000+ plus is perfectly achievable, but 2000 and above?  I'm not sure.  Then you get the 8000 ones which is ridiculous.  How these people escape bans I just don't know.

2000+ plus is well achievable these days, and I have racing friends who have already eclipsed it. I did a quick mathematical summary a while back on the max probable level that could be achieved if you played every waking hour since launch at a reasonable rate, which came to 3175+/-.

3000+ pretty much a no.  And the guy I saw was well above 3000.

If the formula

 f(x)=25x2 + 23,575x - 1,023,150, where x is given rank

is correct, that will put level 3k at 294.701.850 RP. It's 6 times work needed to achieve 1000. I don't want to think that there are sane people who have achieved these ranks legitimately.

Same. There's "dedication" and then there's "completely wasting your life". It's no wonder to me that @Jenkiiii has a stance on celebrating 1k and nothing else after that, as I completely agree with that opinion.

Another point: this will tax console hardware enormously and will require regular service. On PC it's easier with a big cases like Corsair 540/740 (using one myself) or Thermaltake Core X9 with a good cooling system, but consoles... It's just scary!

On this note, even without reaching 1k in 2019 I feel like I've wasted more of my life than I should have. Year and a half of playtime is an average period to pass B2 exam level in a foreign language, unless we're talking something extreme.

Goals shift over time, and 47.5 million doesn't seem like such a big deal to many of us now, but if you're still stuck at level 600-700 then it can seem like an eternity. We should definitely celebrate getting to level 1000 simply because Rockstar do NOT acknowledge it, but what we do after that is where video game addiction can be a real problem. It would be irresponsible to encourage endless levelling up in place of real-life, which I personally appreciate through my own addiction and how that has affected my life, marriage, real-life friendships, finances, health, etc. GTA online addiction has a massive impact on many of us, so try to reign it in a bit if you think it's getting out of hand.

I don't think that I will ever reach 1000, now I'm even further from it than before with 3 dogs in the family. I'm playing daily for 1-1.5 hours and can't afford to focus on leveling up. I love to have some fun shooting cops with mates, sell some goods for someone, type some crap in the chat (on PC it's public chat in the session where you can type with your KB) while annoying my wife with cherry mx blue switches, basically just enjoying the game. I don't have any goals, numbers or KPIs, money is comfortably flowing in by 1-1.5 mil per week, there are cars that I've forgot about in the garages and I'm checking them out.

 

I tried to play EFLC/IV recently looking for the vibe I've experienced being 20 yo lad, but the vibe is long gone together with the new property system. I felt like I was playing a game back in the days, now it's more complicated. Looking back I don't regret spending time on Online, but that's the last online game I've played in my nearest future. Won't say for life, who knows. Last weeks my sessions have suffered due to the Dirt Rally 2.0 and considering how demanding in terms of concentration this game is, I'm absolutely chilling in Online.
