I bought a PS3 again, just so I could play this game

I never got the chance to fully appreciate this game, really or it's story. I mostly played it for the Online mode, at one point every time I booted up the game all I heard was 'Daddy's back you bitches'. I've matured since then, and found myself getting very bored with the current line-up of games on PS4.

Today was the day I said screw it and finally bought a PS3 again, best decision I've ever made. Games are like £2-3 now, GTA IV was £3 which is just crazy to me.

I'm just in shock with how much more Grand Theft Auto this game feels to me,much more than GTA V. I'm loving the grittyness, the City feels real and immersive, the cars handle with weight to them and feel very real. Whilst GTA V's map may be technically bigger, this map feels huge to me already because you're surrounded by so many streets and tall buildings.

Really going to take my time to digest and enjoy this game properly this time, been so long I can't even remember the game at all and I know I never got that far through the Story.

Also, I'm kind of amazed that a game in 2008 seems to have more to it than a 2013 one. The way the pedestrians react as an example.

I think buying a console just so you can play one game is stupid, like those people who say they bought a Switch just because of Zelda. But hey, it's your money, you can do what you want with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I agree, IV's setting and immersion is the best.

I mean, why don't you buy a PC? It's already ridiculous if you buy a whole console just to play one game, and if you really want to do it, do it the best way possible. There is mod and all on PC. But that's just my opinion.

You can buy a used PS3 for under $100 now, which is pretty crazy. To get a PC that would be able to run it smoothly w/ mods would cost a couple hundred, especially since the PC port of IV isn't the best, performance wise, I can see why he just went with an old console.

Welcome to Liberty City, can I suggest you to take a look at the "Cool things you didn't know about" thread ? there is plenty of amazing details, facts etc..over there.

And don't forget, take your time for the exploration, walk, feel and enjoy your surroundings because actually, this city's alive.

Have fun

Yeah I got a ps3 pretty recently too! Came with 2 controllers (one screwed up a little-I fixed it tho), 500gb hard drive, and 5 games. Also, it's the Super Slim. Cost me 100 AUD. Also later on got 17 games for 50 bucks!

Pretty hard to beat the value of the 360/ps3 (plus games inc.) these days!

As for IV, already got it on 360 - Legendary game it is! I really agree with what you mean by the immersion and "how much more Grand Theft Auto" it feels!

R* really captured what I think "Grand Theft Auto" meant to people in it.

Even the multiplayer was good in a 'No bullsh*t' kinda way as there was no currency, just go in and screw around with your friends and other players!

Buying a PS3 just to play one game is stupid? Boy, get out of here. I've put more hours into IV than I have any other game. And sorry but not everybody is exactly a "gamer" I have very few games and enjoy the ones that I do buy to the fullest. Before my PS3 disc drive died, IV was the only game I played on my PS3 along with V.

Luckily I don't have any reason to buy a PS3 again because I have V for the PS4 and IV is finally backwards compatible on the Xbox One. But if it wasn't, would I at least consider buying another PS3? Hell yes.

Stupid? Get outta here.
