[WIP|V] Red Dead Redemption V

Can we use the native trainer with it to spawn vehicles?

Why not? It's just a map mod after all, plus a few addition from jedijosh920.I wouldn't say a few. It aimed for alot more stuff. We'll get as close to normal RDR plus might look into adding other things. But don't expect just a map and few things. We hope you'll enjoy it. More info will be posted later on stay tuned. Why would you want to spawn vehicles in RDR map?

..Where it will be the fun?

Off Road vehicles and Dirt Bikes would be great fun, especially in Mexico. Sports cars, super cars, etc, not really a place for them and that's good, let the others shine.

Here is how to handle the vehicles. Modern vehicles and weapons from GTA V should not spawn naturally. They should only appear if spawned with a trainer.

Without external mods to spawn them, they will not appear anywhere naturally in the game world, but they will still exist in the game files.

The 1 and ONLY vehicle I would want added from GTA V would be the old tractor. That thing had metal wheels, and is the antique tractor.

That seems to fit in well from the era.

Looks like it is based on the Fordson tractors from the early 1910's-20's.

The picture above appears to be that of a 1917 model.

Judging from other forums a lot of people actually want to be able to spawn off road vehicles and bikes, to give them a chance of exploring this map in a completely new way and to also take advantage of the vast different terrain on offer in this map.

Imagine how fun the horse racing paths would be if they used Sanchez's.

I second this. I this the first build should retain GTA V Vehicles for now.

Just a quick update to everyone: We've been making great progress the last few days since we announced the mod.

dexyfex, who made CodeWalker is helping us by providing his extensive research on GTA5 to take our mod to the next level., in return we give our input on CodeWalker.

If you're really have a major progress about converting map, can you show any screens from the work in-game GTA V you're already done? :O

Edit: I'm not sure because most recent version of OpenIV with GTA V's custom map support 2.9 seems pretty broken for some reason.

inb4 working missions :D or at least converted peds and horses.

@65536

Be patient, your minds will gonna blow :)

RDRPack confirmed

Actually, I honestly think an RDR Pack would be nice. So basically, all of the horses, as well as the RDR vehicles will be available as a separate DLC pack that can be used with the regular GTA V. This same DLC pack would be used with this mod.

I will admit, what ever mods that will be used in this that will allow us to ride horses should be made available for the regular GTA V. After all, Los Santos and Blaine County have a horse racing track, and a ranch.

Also, other RDR animals can be used too. I believe that RDR has bears, and GTA V does not. Another animal to add to GTA V's wild life.

That's if anything but just the map gets converted. The furthest I see this going is maybe having the map finished, along with some converted peds spawning in non-specific locations, and maybe a select few animals. People might use the 3D Era total conversion mods as proof that things can get done, but none of the conversion projects for GTA IV were ever finished. As great as a complete port/conversion of RDR to GTA V would be I don't see it ever happening after seeing almost every HD Era project die off.

Whether its because the team falls apart or something, or people get distracted, who knows. I give it until RDR2 releases before this winds down to a stop. But please, if/when the project does get cancelled - please release the source for all of its components, that way at some point some other team could possibly pick it up where you guys left off.

dude, telling them that most if not all HD Projects died off and that theirs will kick the bucket at the end of this year too, and that they should release their work so that some other team can finish a free mod for your enjoyment is not helping anyone. Just let them work on it without unnecessary doomsday prophecies. this stuff is hard to do

Listen, I want this as much as the next guy, and I know a project like this is tough. I'm just not trying to be too optimistic here. I'd love to eat my words and see a full conversion/port of the game, seriously.

All I'm saying is that if it does die, I hope they don't make the same mistake as previous teams and keep all the work to themselves and leave the whole thing for dead. Instead if someone else decides to pick it up, they can, and one day it will be fully completed.

I agree with the CP dude, like if this mod does end up failing, at least release what you have already because there's no reason to hold onto what you already have if you aren't willing to finish it.

Depends but pretty sure we will release if it ever does. As of the moment we aren't cancelling anything. But stay tuned for more news.
