[WIP|V] Red Dead Redemption V

Recommended Posts

I don't know why are you all so excited, nothing is happening.

Pessimists are probably worse than alcoholics and gamblers combined, if you don't think it's going to be released, fine, but don't go around telling everyone how they shouldn't expect anything and how they should also be pessimists. Only the authors should say whether it's canceled or not...and it shouldn't be canceled, the files should be put on the internet somewhere and everyone who downloads them should do so at their own responsibility. I'd download them first, f... t2.

Actually...I'd argue...maybe it should remain open. We remained relatively silent when they shut down RDRV. We all just kinda...rolled over and accepted it. Look what we did when they tried to do that to OpenIV. #SaveRDRV #SaveOpenIVLC

@Tank1 @Mr.Leisurewear How difficult would it be to make a tool that converted the assets from the disc? If you could do that...maybe we could save RDRV.

I'm interested in a conversion to gta sa.

One guy has already tried to do that here. However, the project is in such bad state that I was not able to run it. I wasn't even able to extract the RDR map from it to get it run myself.

There needs to be at least a conversions of models, textures, collision, paths. Info about it or if someone is willing to do it would be great.

I think this is conversion of Red Dead Revolver not Red Dead Redemption, judging by name of modification.

Okay to clarify things because of the attention here.

This project will NOT continue as with the new recent Rockstar Games policy prohibiting any Rockstar IP to be converted to another IP.

Even with all the supposedly "legal" loopholes , same applies to LC V from OpenIV.

And as zmudziak32 mentioned that is Red Dead Revolver the first game not Redemption the second game.

So what? Most torrent are illegal, yet tens, maybe even hundreds of millions of people download them, don't be scared from T2, just put it as a torrent and if someone want's to download it, it's his responsibility, I care 0% about T2 and their ,,bans".

Backing down just because of some business shark that hasn't even played GTA V and deleting all the hard work you've done and disappointing everyone would be a really stupid thing to do, just release it on some third party Russian site and T2 can go f.. itself. :)

And you're saying this on the public, uh...
Maybe you are not aware of this, but Rockstar is reading this forum.

I wish R* would be like Valve, then...

you mean selling cosmetic things for hard money? That's way worse than shark cards tbh. U can at least buy some OP vehicles with them.

Yes, but unlike T2, Valve's microtransactions and cosmetic items are completely optional and do not give any advantage to the buyer.

I think he's trying to say that he wishes R*'s modding policies are like Valve's. Valve is very generous about modding. They released Half-Life campaign maps for free for a free coop mod. They let modders make a mod based on the beta version of HL2. They even encouraged modders to port characters from Resident Evil 6 to Left 4 Dead during the crossover. There are tons and tons of characters, models, and much more ported from other IPs in the Steam Workshop for Left 4 Dead, Gmod, etc.

That happened like 10 years ago. Back then R* was happy/neutral about modding and even port. Just look here. They are happy about GTA1 to GTA4! And these days Valve is antagonist on modding scene. Don't you remember paid mods fiasco?

(aint defending C*, just blaming how bad Valve is these days too)

Okay, I've said this before, I'll say this again...asking them to release is basically asking them to take a bullet for you. If they want to release it at their own risk then that's fine...but asking them to... These people have lives outside of the forums, they may have families, jobs, hobbies...they may have their whole lives ahead of them and asking them to release it shows just how little you care about the other people behind the avatars. Finally someone with common sense , and at JakeRS , you gonna pay my court sessions ? , you gonna pay for the food on the table ? i don't think so mate.

I really don't have much time anymore since this all happened , i can only "consult" to other people what i know about RAGE.

+TakeTwo knows my full identity and what i do , and they KNOW all of the source code and assets were closed sourced and prviately helded , if it lands on the net , they will shoot straigt to my door and i will get the sh*tters, it's all easy sitting behind a keyboard saying "get some balls and don't be afraid" , i know that the day you'll get papers you will sing differently ;)

Alright then, time for the topic to be locked again. There's no reason to further this discussion then if the mod is illegal.

Please... This is going to nowhere. Only the people will still demanding "Please, release the files in a torrent" and a long etcetera.
