Original Light Posted November 4, 2017 Share Posted November 4, 2017 (edited) The multiplayer is significantly more balanced, especially more so than last year's Infinite Warfare, mainly due to the fact that people aren't flying above your head on the map anymore or running on walls. Have you encountered any kids shouting obscenities yet? It's not CoD unless the children are there. There was some douche blasting rap music through the mic, and some guy yelled "Yo, whoever is playing that garbage, turn that sh*t off!". It was pretty hilarious, but no, I have't encountered any kiddies screaming in the mic yet. Two things: - The hit marker sound is now really loud compared to past games. I wouldn't call it obnoxious, but it's definitely louder. Still satisfying. - After a game has ended, there is no lobby. You're stuck looking at the game scoreboard for 1 minute until the next match starts, meaning you can't customize your classes between matches and the only way to leave is to quit the game (counting as a loss). First it worked fine for me, but later I encountered the same situation Original Light mentioned. I heard that at some point Activision servers were completely shut down and also I couldn't play multiplayer earlier this today, so little hiccups like that are a minor problem. Probably these problems are solved pretty soon considering how much it would damage Activision's profit margin if they wouldn't handle it quickly. I played a few missions and it seemed pretty good although that stuttering was a little disappointing since in the past they usually favored framerate over graphics. Playing on veteran also makes it less enjoyable, but that's my choice. As for authenticity I would say that it's more spot on than not. Definitely not some über weapon BS. I haven't encountered any yelling kids or other nuisances in multiplayer or zombie mode so far. That might be luck though. All in all this seems to be my first good COD experience since BO2, so at this point I can recommend it to those that still consider if it's worth it or not. I played multiplayer many hours today until the game suddenly froze and after I restarted the game I was informed that servers aren't working at the moment. But that was a couple hours ago. At the moment servers are working again. And there is a new MP update - again. Or not. Just checking it at the moment and there is still that same message. Oh well. Edit. Now it works. The campaign is great, COD are known for there good campaigns, but this gives me a Brothers in Arms type feeling, I love the chemistry with the squad, a few lol moments too. zombieRAGE Posted November 5, 2017 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Was watching some videos earlier on the nazi zombies, that game mode a lone seems worth it to me, pretty sure I'm gonna be picking up this game while I'm out later... I also love the fact the game is stepping away from the futuristic crap all the other cods went with, feels refreshing going back to the good ol World War II era. Classic. Are they really forcing you to watch a lootbox opening from another player so you can earn some 2nd class coins yourself? I don't even know how to do this, i'm guessing it's to do with that 'Headquarters' lobby thing but I've always been on my own in them, never seen another player roaming about. The past couple years COD has been sh*t, all that futuristic sh*t with robots flying everywhere is not COD, those really were some f*cked up COD games. They finally are back with real war, real humans and weapons. Old school sh*t, thats what COD was always about. I havent finished campaign yet, but so far its freaking awesome. They've deliberately made it that way for the time being due to the servers being overloaded. Apparently you can still invite friends to your HQ though. The N. When HQ was working there was problems all the time. I have to say that I have quite enjoyed the multiplayer so far, but it's also true that maps are getting a bit boring. More hours than Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare combined. I am actually terrible at it though (multiplayer) Which is a surprise as I was actually very good at MW2, MW3 and Ghosts. I'm not sure If my reactions are slower as I get older and the younger kids are tearing me apart, or if its the maps and weapons, but either way I am really enjoying it and that is the main purpose of a game. One thing that annoys me though, is the amount of times I have got first shot on someone, hell even first shot then a few more bullets, just to get melted is crazy. Never had that in any other game before, usually first shot is all you need to win the gun fight, but not here. Stormingz Posted November 9, 2017 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Yeah, I am also from the older generation of CoD players, however after Advanced Warfare I gave up on the franchise and completely ignored BO3 and Infinite Warfare, so WW2 grabbed my attention when I realised it was back to boots on the ground. Ive been getting torn apart myself, but then I get a few games in where I dominate, so its a mixed bag for me. To answer Smacked, if you enjoyed the old boots on the ground CoDs like me, then get it. Yeah it's really good, up there with BO2. Talking about multiplayer though, didn't play campaign. I don't think anyone but Treyarch can make a campaign better than BO2.
