Jason Posted June 13, 2017 Share Posted June 13, 2017 Watching bits and pieces of the MP stream (which is only on Facebook, annoyingly) and the more I see of it the less excited I am. It's 6v6 still stuff like Divisions while different still feel like they're playing it safe instead of taking some risks and trying to refresh the series up quite a bit. El Dildo Posted June 13, 2017 Share Posted June 13, 2017 I love to see that limbs are blowing off and dudes are lying on the ground screaming while bleeding out. it sounds crass I guess, but that's the reason why COD World @ War is still like my favorite game in the series. it was just so brutal. unforgiving and brutal. great sound effects. great attention to detail. much more realistic gore and violence and destruction compared to both its predecessors and successors. it was also a great squad-based game. you felt like part of a unit instead of just the lone player-character-hero. Or what about the Latino americans indeed, they fought also in the European theatre? This whole nonsense is f*cking stupid. People saying one should not care about historical accuracy and stuff shouldnt be rooting for a historical setting to begin with. Do this sh*t in infinite warfare and whatnot, I dont care. If you really do a WW2 game do your research and make the game how it should be. AAA game devs can learn alot from the smaller studios. Look at Day of Infamy and Rising Storm 2. Two historical conflicts and two games that allow you to customise your character and loadouts. Do they have to shoehorn in stupid gameplay design that dumbs it down for people? /rant However, if you do not care about all this, look past the god awful choices they made concerning the historical setting, it does look like a fun COD game. I always hated the design of cod maps, i thought this one woulf feel more 'natural' i guess. RedDagger Posted June 14, 2017 Share Posted June 14, 2017 I'm not entirely sure why the bounds of realism can be broken for pretty much everything and it's fine, apart from adding brown people and women...it doesn't purport to be a simulation of trench warfare in the western front, nothing out of place with it. This game has kids screaming heil hitler, saying racist sh*t and cat calling but the moment they add women and other races its an issue because it breaks "immersion"? Pathetic. The only thing I could agree with is the no swastika or nazi refrences in the Zombies mode and MP. I want to kill some f*cking Nazi's for f*ck sake. Either way, they did fight on the western front also. Might need to have an eye checkup there, buddy. I think judging the graphics by a compressed YouTube video is not the best choice. Besides, this is Sledgehammer Games, they've modified their version of the IW engine so much and it looks great, just look at Advanced Warfare. It is also pretty optimized for the PC. I know realism isnt exactly part of the franchise but well if they want to stick to be historical accurate well... most of the soldiers were white, very few black and women working on the medical facilities. Essential for me, and I don't mind if they cut corners graphically to achieve it as long as the gameplay's on point. ṼirulenⱦEqừinox Posted July 22, 2017 Share Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) I'm really hoping and praying they went back to the Modern Warfare route with this title i so much want to like CoD but ever Black Ops II was the last purchase i made in the series because i didn't like the way the game was turning with the over used & played out Zombies and the futuristic series with Advance & Infinite Warfare. I guess i'm the kind of gamer who likes the game to have a more realistic setting with the weapons, vehicles and year of conflict because those series can be accurate to a point where with the futuristic ones there is no telling if we'll ever have "plasma" grenades or guns. If they do this one right and i like what i see i'll purchase it but i need to see more gameplay and hear some reviews before i jump in but i do know that this won't be a pre-order game of mine this year. Shame it's just a cinematic trailer for a COD game though. I'd love to play a singleplayer nazi zombie game like this, with a full story and everything. Also the zombies looks 100x more sinister and visceral than treyarchs zombies . I'm actually looking forward to this COD and I haven't said that since WAW dropped.
