Do people fail Special Vehicle Missions ON PURPOSE?

Recommended Posts

I feel like some people fail the Missions on purpose when you're about to finish the job. Because instead of getting paid $20,000-$40,000, you're only gonna get paid $5,000 because of this guy who 'accidentally' drove the Ruiner 2000 into the water.

Some people even troll heist setups where the payout is higher than $5k, so I would say yes, some do. And sometimes you can't differentiate trolling and stupidity.^^

I'm not sure.

I know there are people with tiny little attitudes who definitely go through entire missions just to mess it up for you, but there are other explanations too, such as disconnects due to crappy P2P networking, mom calling their children for supper, the dog going nuts because of someone at the door... all sorts of real life situations.

I don't think you should generalise. It's Rockstar's fault, actually, for not allowing missions to continue just because someone leaves. The same applies to heists and many adversary modes.

Sometimes. But I'm guilty of accidental landing in that reservoir near Zancudo after miscalculating the jump. Felt bad for the lads I've played with, everyone did well and mission was almost over, but I managed to spoil it.

But Online just like a real life is full of very special people with very special needs, of course.

...and people sometimes genuinely make mistakes, I hadn't thought of that. It's best to give people the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

well since the SV missions has element of heist , running out of lives even 1 teamates equals failure

the only forgiving part is they reduce required players to 2 person ( though this result heavy shootouts much harder in turn )

Today I played Special Vehicle Missions with random players for something like 2 hours in order to unlock the reduced prices of 3 vehicles & I seriously felt a few times like I was close to tears. It was brutal but eventually it was done & I purchased the Ruiner, the Rocket Voltic & the Blazer Aqua.

I'm really starting to think so.

Yesterday I had some free time to play... I thought I'd grind some 2x Arms Embargo. The first one of the day was also my last.

I made it to the pick up area first, the second guy landed and then went into the water. (couldn't tell if intentional) The 2 randoms wanted to restart, so I restarted it and we finished with a 10k payout. At that point I already decided I was done playing.. then the loading screen kept me up in the clouds, so I exited the game and turned off the ps4 as quickly as possible before I explode. Haven't touched it since then. I do not have the time or patience to deal with any of that bullsh*t right now.

I guess I just gotta stop playing with randoms and find a crew that likes to make money

As much as it seems like they're trolling, trust me, they're actually that incompetent and for very selfish reasons.

They do stupid sh*t with the car since they can't afford it in the first place, and once you get frustrated with them and yell at them via mic since they constantly fail the mission by drowning it in water while laughing their ass off and wasting your time, they tell you that "it's just a game, dude. chill the f*ck out".

I didn't even need the sale anyway, but for God's sake, they always destroy it when we are supposed to go to the final gunfight. They just HAVE to use a stunt jump as a "short-cut", or rather one more excuse to play with the car some more.

I gotta partially blame Rockstar for this, if the special vehicles weren't that overpriced, I wouldn't have had to deal with this bullsh*t.

They like to get in my buzzard as passenger and spam the missiles, drawing police attention at best and murder-suiciding in a ball of fire at worst. The ones like rank 29 with a 0.50 kdr are the worst offenders.

well same case with savage since they enable it ability for co-pilot to shoot when they still terrible at that aim since their controlled missiles doesn't lock on yet shoot it anyway . when i had enough , tried to kill him by having the chopper plummets into the ground by bailout , but he manage bailout in time , i'm dead and he got away with his stupidity

I be f*cking up on these missions. Did them all with a friend and I died on most of them except one where my friend got his legs blown off by an RPG. It was embarrassing, I don't even know how I kept f*cking up so bad.

I'm still mad.

I've been questioning this since I started playing. IRL if one of your partners in crime kicked the bucket while robbing a bank, you dont all just throw down your weapons. You get the job done & mr dead's cut gets split among the rest..!

When it's a pickup a car from the sea with a cargobob, I just destroy the cargobob and source another car.

Yes sir. F*ck that sideways in the ear. I mean, WHO did that car belong to that warrants three or four pairs of attack helicopters to exact revenge..?!

DON'T USE RANDOMS...Seriously, it's that easy!!!

Had a new friend last night doing H. Labs, couldn't wait 5 minutes or so for another mate to be free so host got a random, level 112, not to shabby, right?

Got to first objective, random went in like Rambo, dies, restart, dies... Left the job... Host text me saying he wants my friends in now...

In the mean time, some started a P.S. heist... So, I jumped in with my boys to wrap that up, took no time, told original random if we can be bothered later we'll help... Not heard back yet... Happy to help anyone on a job that pays, but if they cannot wait the 2 or 3 minutes it takes for an friendly to finish a sale to join then we cannot help someone with that mind set... Funny, but daft...

Think you'd have more joy to create a topic looking for friendlies instead, much better use of your energy...

And to get the car off the boat easily... Have a buddy in a buzzard provide cover, even if they are NOT a part of your CEO group, they can still take out the spawning enemies...

Or... Fly at max height if solo, and half tilt the heli... enemies struggle to find you up there...

Only failed the first time as, like most, went a casual way about it...

But the simple answer for all these problems you have is to at least have 1 other guy/girl in the lobby with you, keep the majority vote, just in case, and communicate. 90% of CEO/Biker stuff is perfectly fine to do solo, especially filling supplies etc. But having that other chap in the lobby all but guarantees any job is a breeze, and no threat from others or NPC's, peaceful and relaxing... The best way to play.

I like to quick join these missions to help people finish them. I know they can be a pain with randumbs, but they're quite fun when you have someone halfway competent on your team. They're easy for me and the paycheque isn't something to knock. So for about 5-10 minutes worth of easy labour, you net 20-40k.

Rockstar doesn't seem to like the idea of players benefiting from such things.

One of the last runs with the Ruiner Mission and Fort Zancudo we agreed to fail for an insta-restart. This mission is hell of fun (and to short, tbh). Otherwise, from Khephera_87_GER to hei3enberg everything is said I guess?! :)

i was only missing the boxville one to complete my garage (which has been near full since near dlc drop), and i decided i'd find me a random or two to do this with. i'd only done this mission once before, so my experience as a 400-something would suggest i knew what to do, which i barely did.

random 1 was a mid/late 100 something who clearly did these missions regularly.

random 2 was a, uhm, at most 55 who clearly didn't read gtao the same way neo reads the matrix.

so, obviously, the entire thing was murphy's law'ed. or so i thought;

after the second attempt 100something left. we were not good enough for him. well, me and max55 gave it another try, and i saw him actually develop, and deep down i saw myself some years ago when i first set foot on the airport to steal the titan for the first time.

we drove around and shot as many of the npcs as we could before exiting the vehicle to steal that thingy in the box. we carefully shot our way through them and drove off. there was another restart here and there, but in total i think the mission was restarted four or five times.

then i bought the discounted boxville and haven't touched those missions since. all i wanted was the boxville ceo mission to make life in my session miserable with my turreted crusades :-D

People make mistakes, now if you're dying multiple times in the same mission that's a different story.

The worse is when you do the truck mission and the driver can't drive for nothing.

If anything, the Special Vehicle missions have really driven home the point that most players couldn't land a f*cking helicoper if you held a gun to their head. How many times have you/I/we joined a SV mission and had the host plow into the ground or parachute out rather than land? It does seem like trolling but I think a lot of players simply suck at flying.
