GTA SA CRASH in Julius Thruway

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Gta San Andreas crash (gta_sa.exe has stopping working) when I'm driving in south Julius Thruway. I have Version 2.0 CD and I have had ENB 8.4 mod, which I have uninstalled. But it still crash.

I thing that my save file is corrupted because I tried other save file which I downloaded from the net. It worked in Julius Thruway. I have tried this also another computer so it doesn't depend what computer I use.

Can I repair this problem somehow?

(Sorry my very bad english)

Please reexamine your Disc. The Game is published on a single DVD. Any CD copies are pirated games, which can have any number of unfixable situations.

What is your Operating System?

Recommended System Requirements for GTA: San Andreas:

• Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon XP processor (or better)

• XP, Vista, Windows 7.

• 384(+) MB of RAM

• 16x DVD-ROM drive (or download [which I do not recommend]

• 4.7 GB of free Hard Disk space for a full install

★128(+) MB Video Card with DirectX 9 compatible drivers ("GeForce4" or better)

• DirectX 9 compatible Surround Sound Card

• Keyboard & Mouse

  • First quick fix might be deleting the GTA_SA.set file.
  • next uninstalling and reinstalling after your sure all the mod files are gone.
  • If you have an old OS "vista" you must also delete the Hidden "Virtual" game files.

Oh wow. You do have a weird glitch in your save. I used SnP's modification tool to convert the save to v1 scripts so I could test things in my controlled environment. Don't worry about the conversion process, I'm a wiz at this sort of thing. I was able to reproduce the glitch, sort of. It's not a consistent crash. Once it crashed right out the door. Next time I had to drive down the road and back before it crashed. Then I cleared the global and weather timers, which disables all of the scripts, and it crashed just down the road from the safe house.

The crash with scripts disabled is good news. That eliminates a lot of possibilities. There's a reasonably good chance I can fix this glitch. The next step in the process is to copy and paste good blocks from my saves over the blocks in your save until the problem goes away. Once the glitched save structure is isolated I can start forming a hypothesis on what the problem might be. Right now I'm clueless. I've been tracking save glitches for years and haven't seen anything like this. I figure any glitch I haven't seen by now is probably caused by mods, but I'd be very much surprised if ENB did this sort of thing.

But I'm too tired right now, and too busy this week. It's liable to be a long time before I can take another look. You might consider starting a new game in the meantime. Have you ever made a starter save? 4 star exploration is lots of fun. You could also start a save for collecting special vehicles. There's a lot of collectors around here since we've got an awesome guide linked in the strategies forum.

Blocks replaced without resolution:

  • Garage block 3
  • Pickups block 6
  • Markers block 9
  • Zones block 10
  • Car Generators block 12
  • Unique Stunt Jumps block 24
  • Enex block 25

I have the time to wait because I can't play GTA SA for three weeks because I'm very busy. Next time is 6.4. when I can play.

It looks like you've got too many SCM objects in your save. There are 101 Bdups_graf (ID 14840) cluttering things up, and that's exactly the sort of thing that would cause this glitch. I've got no idea why theses objects would be in your save, or what they look like. The references show an apparently blank object. When I deleted the mystery objects using SASE the game didn't crash where it usually does. My whole PC powered down suddenly but I think that's an issue with my power supply.

I wasn't able to find reference to the offending object in the default scripts to there's a reasonably good chance that deleting them with fix your save. But I was using SASE to delete the objects; I'd prefer a more precise adjustment but that'll be a pain with 101 objects. Maybe we can get a coder to write a scrub routine for you. And the save I repaired was heavily patched with my save blocks so it's no good for anything but testing. So we need to start over and make just the required edits next time.

Do you have any idea what these objects are and how they might have been added to your save?

That's skybox most likely (it corrupts saves and acts like a sort of virus within SA savefiles lol). It's also included in Robert's modpacks so there's a high chance OP installed it and saved the game with skybox mod active thus having those objects stuck in his savefile and probably broken beyond repair. Well... Deleting these objects using the SASE 1.00 object tool seemed to work well enough. I tend to avoid SASE since I'm really picky about my save edits, but I'm also not very interested in fixing mod related save issues so SASE is my recommended strategy.

  • 3 weeks later...

Yeah. SASE turns on the cheat flag; I don't know why. Turn it off and save and the cheat warning will go away. Make sure CJ has the correct clothing; that's the other thing SASE has changed unexpectedly. For these reasons, I don't completely trust SASE and prefer to find other strategies to edit my good saves. But on the other hand, SASE has been around for years and no one has reported any serious issues with it.
