Gamester42
Alright folks, so I pulled an all nighter trying to get this mod to work for my GTAV and I was finally successful as I think I discovered the flaw causing this map to ether not load for some people and or crashes the game for others. I will explain what I had to do to get this to work for me. First off, It should be known that I'm using old version 1.0.350.2 of the game loading under the 3DM crack; (yes, I do actually own the game, but cracks just make modding life easier.), so take that as it may. Also, I did not have anything in my mods folder before starting this as all the mods I've done so far were directly to the game itself. I suggest starting clean with an empty mods folder yourself as well. I first downloaded the current version of OPENIV and clicked in the program to install the ASI loader and OPENIV mod loader that it wanted to. Then, using the beta package file from the link on the first page of this thread and chose the option to install it to the mods folder of GTAV. After testing it and finding the game would no longer even load anymore, I started digging through some of the files to try to find out what was causing the issue. Upon my searching I discovered something important that was missing. If you open up OPENIV and go to mods\update\update.rpf\common\data and open the dlclist.xml file, you'll discover that there is no mentioning of the dlc Miami map there, so the game is never told to even load the dlc pack, which they actually just called the pack "miami" instead of vicev for some reason. So, I added this line to the end of that list of dlc packs.. <Item>dlcpacks:\miami\</Item> After that, the game now loaded and Vice City was there! BTW, I very much recommend using this texture pack for the city once you get the it to load initially as the quality as it is much easier on the eyes for sure!... https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/vice-v-hd-textures Here is a video I made today of me enjoying the city with the Tommy Vercetti player mod along with my many other car mods. IMHO, the city looks absolutely breath taking rendered in GTAV's engine!... Enjoy Vice City in all it's glory folks! inkoalawetrust, Ruvix, FV Mods and 2 others 4 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/882469-relvvice-v/page/8/#findComment-1070250844 Share on other sites

Yea more updates to the map would be awesome! I would personally at least like to see a more accurate collision map for the city and I would really like to see the interior details of the mansion finished so you could go in and actually walk up to the office and roof and such, that would be great! BTW, is there any reason why the VC map itself couldn't just be used as a collision model? I would think it would be low poly enough for GTAV that it could possibly work. If so, that would be perfect! I've done quite a bit of vehicle modeling over the years, but nothing with the maps, so not sure if it can work like that or not. Thanks again Edited June 12, 2018 by Gamester42 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/882469-relvvice-v/page/8/#findComment-1070268073 Share on other sites
codyJ
That could be easily possible with renderwares method the collisions were near impossible without a horribly high CPU usage, however RAGE is made with more complex collisions in mind. FV Mods
Updating this with a fix for newer versions, hopefully the soon forthcoming nightlife DLC for Online won't break it again. If it does, at least i know the principle to fix it now Enjoy: https://bit.ly/2MRxI7w spartaque12 and ClaudeTheMan 2 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/882469-relvvice-v/page/8/#findComment-1070296753 Share on other sites
wilmanwdk
Not sure if it's a problem on my end, but for some reason I can't drive cars in some areas like Airport or Ocean Beach. I can spawn them, but they won't move, can't even turn the wheels or anything. wilmanwdk
Quote Beware, you should use gameconfig and playerinfo.ymt from external, optimized sources to get the map working properly. I could careless about GTA Online, haven't touched it in 4 years. I asked because the Malibu Club is an iconic VC landmark. Playing around yesterday I noticed collisions appear to be in place in the interior but no textures. Wasn't sure how big of a challenge it would be to finish the interior. Fun fact is we can use it's contents and animations for Malibu That interior isn't a challenge to me, it's just not planned now Edited August 3, 2018 by EncryptedReality spartaque12 and K0ol-G-R4P 2 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/882469-relvvice-v/page/8/#findComment-1070363967 Share on other sites

PatteDeFruit
Thanks for this interesting mod On 6/26/2017 at 11:30 AM, nkjellman said: Make sure you have a moded Gameconfig.xml (located in update.rpf/data). It allows for more dlc packs to be added. I use this one. First time i installed it, it crashed on the loading screen but the gameconfig.xml fixed it for me Gameconfigs will need more tweaking. ViceV now causes the game to breach the ymap threshold. When that happens you get missing objects, and misplaced objects. Where a placement isn't the object it is supposed to be. Mod wasn't working too but updating the gameconfig.xml seems to have fixed the issue: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars Still having collision and other bugs. Also the Native trainer now crashes the game but Menyoo works fine... Looking forward to some patch/updates if possible.
