Ugh, you're everything wrong with modding right now, is the clickbait title and description and pandering really required?

Hans-Hermann Hoppe

I'm not sure how he or anyone else want to deal with the cars spawn thing, the game has a limit to 60,and that's not MapEditor, more like Menyoo.

wut?

-snip-

I think it looks really cool and all, but it's kinda obvious that you didn't 'crack' the nav-mesh. unfortunately (Notice the car stopped after the light)

This looks like a simple map mod, probably done with menyoo or the like, but the graphics mod looks pretty slick.

What about remastering some places, with more HD quality models ?

He just wants to convert the base map.

In my opinion, I would absolutely love to see the Vice Cry map ported to GTA V. It would serve as a HD era VC place holder and would be added with GTA IV/EFLC's Liberty City, with each map a good distance away from each other and GTA V's SA.

Greetings.

I have been thinking the same thing a while now and decided finally make an account here to share the idea, but it seems that I am little late. Btw I have also tried to import some textures by myself from the Vice cry mod and I have to admit that those textures look pretty awesome. Anyway, we would need a permission from the Vice cry mod authors to share the upgraded Vice City map.

Guys, use my liveries for Vice City Police! I did it a long time ago, especially for that moment. VCPD Livery for 15+ vehicles

Did I... Miss something? I don't recall we've got a pleasure to talk.

As for Vice Cry V port, we have been contacted by user lunchxbles in 2015, whom asked us for permission to let him use our assets in his project, which to my knowledge is not dead, despite its thread not being updated since a long, long time. And since there's already one project aiming to convert Vice Cry's map to GTA V, is there any need to start another one? Why won't you work together if your goals are the same? Two modders equal two pair of hands instead of one, and twice as big chances to succeed. I mean, it's pretty flattering all this work Kov and me have done is not long forgotten and there's still demand for it, but from the practical point of view, there's seriously no reason to have two separate mods if one is already in development.

There was also few others, except their "creators" blatantly stole our content without asking, which is not cool.

Unless you talk about Vice Cry 1.6 or earlier - in this case yeah, there actually was just one dev.

Actually, there also is this map mod made for Five Reborn.

https://www.gta5-mods.com/maps/vicecity-in-v

It is a higher quality version of Vice City. I wonder if it can be used. What if one were to use the models from it with this. I doubt the names changed at all. There might be other issues though.

Edit: It doesn't look as nice in the videos comapred to the screenshots, especially with the San Fierro road textures. Perhaps this could just be done with the vegetation.

Can't wait to see what you have cooking.

So, is it built on top of ViceV? It would be nice to have it as an add on map. It will go along nicely with Liberty City when it comes out. :)

So, guys are you planning to team up or what? I already imported lunchxbles´ vice city textures and models into the Vice V, but the game, as you can guess, crashes. I only succeeded to get it work in safe mode with a lot of texture bugs and flickering :(.

Try increasing limits for textures in gameconfig

I would like to try and convert the Vice Cry models and textures, but I am afraid that further optimization is required regarding the lods. I feel that using the higher quality textures and models will make the FPS drops much worse. Not just the fact that they are lods, but also the fact that the models are showing up in the reflections.

I think that for now, I may just try using the vegetation from his mod and maybe just generic textures.

Edit: Also, I'm wondering, is it possible as of now to place Vice City even further from LS or do limits get in the way? I have a feeling that there is some sort of limit because Vice City goes invisible when I go a little bit south or a little bit east of it. Ether way, at least it is still a good distance away and not right on top of LS. However, I hope that we can have it where the journey would take us about 10-15, maybe even 20 minutes, say we are flying in a Lazer with Vanilla handling. That is, to get from one to the other, flying between SA (V), VC, and LC(IV).

MrGTAmodsgerman

How install mod manually? What files i should replace in update.rpf?

Help here: I've managed to locate all the "edited" files, so you don't have to overwrite all your current modded files and it's easy to install them manually. Just follow my location, extract them and replace them in the game files. Here's the list:

In common.rpf: /data/levels/gta5 (File Name is "gta5.meta")

In x64a.rpf: /data/tune (File Name is "playerinfo.ymt", it's actually the noboudarylimit mod)

DLC:

update/x64/dlcpacks - just copy "miami" folder into the game directory (same location)

Finally add " <Item>dlcpacks:\miami\</Item> " to your dlclist.xml

The scripts folder you can just copy, it won't replace any existing files. Hope I helped! Awesome mod.

  • 2 weeks later...

Snow, Light Snow, Blizzard and Christmas. These types of weather calm the ocean pretty good. So, use one of them (through a trainer) if you don't want the ocean waves on the streets.

I just use the wave height multiplier in Menyoo. A setting of 0.30 does the trick.

Or use my script... just press insert when game loads.

A lot of people are asking for peds but that really wont be possible until OpenIV updates (never) I would just focus on finishing the map like you are doing maybe making the rest of the lights turn on in the dark making peds using Map Editor and Menyoo is pointless until you have a completed map. Best Of Luck!

I've asked this question earlier on gta5-mods.com and, probably, you have already seen it.
I've noticed one interesting thing that if you take a partner with you (e.g. Michael) he can follow you everywhere in the north part of the Vice city, but just standing still in the central and the southern parts of the city. Is this because node border ends there? Then maybe move the whole Vice city island closer to the main island, so it will be all covered by nodes? I probably sound stupid now 'cause i'm not a programmer.
And another question: is it possible to make a bridge between islands for game immersion purposes?! :)

Unknown Modder is working on a boundary bypass. I wonder if that would make it work.

What happens now with this mod is in TTWO's hands. I had some nice progress that i didn't release or share but i guess it's all gonna be dead if map mods aren't allowed any more. I don't need legal issues

You won't get any legal action. There isn't anything they can do.

The OIV Team is in Russia. Take Two can try and scare them with letters, but they can't do anything because they are in Russia. Plus judging by the grammar, the letter is probably from some kid that is sick of modders in GTA Online.

I think everyone should ignore this and just move on.

I'd wait for the cease & desist letter before calling the quits. ;) No matter what you decide, we'll always appreciate the incredible work you've done. I still remember how mindblowing it was back when you first showed off Vice IV and IV:SA.
