I don't recommend using other mods whilst playing this mod.

Edit: While I wait, could you tell me what gameconfig values you modified? I want to merge your gameconfig and mine so I can get this bad boy working with the add on cars, weapons, peds, and props that I have in my game, in addition to the Online maps.

Edit: @GTARandom: I had a look through your files.

1. I am extremely surprised you didn't have to touch the gameconfig.xml.

2. Regarding the files you modded in content.rpf and x64a.rpf. You don't need to have content.rpf and x64a.rpf. Those files can be added in the respective locations in update.rpf, and they will override the others. That will help you shrink your file size.

 

 

Seems he did change something in the gameconfig.

Anyways, here is how I installed the mod.

1. Extract the rpf files that are in the oiv file that came with the mod.

2. In the mods folder, put the "miami" folder in dlcpacks.

3. Add "<Item>dlcpacks:\miami\<\Item>" to the dlclist.

4. Put "gta5.meta" in "update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5". You can find it in the common.rpf GTA Random provided.

5. Put playerinfo.ymt in "update.rpf\x64\data\tune". You can find it in x64a.rpf that GTA Random provided.

 

Also, here is the gameconfig I use. It is possible that a custom gameconfig is needed when using the Online map. GTA Random doesn't use the Online map, and I already had the gameconfig installed for my add ons.

Anyways, I know its an alpha but I'll give you a quick bug report.

-Diaz mansion "looking in through the door" fake interior and the "looking outside through the door/window" props are loading. I know that sounds confusing.

-South of the map, the whole map disappears. Is there some sort of boundary limit causing this? It isn't a big deal, but it makes it harder to land at the airport when approaching the city from the south.

-All of the collisions seem to be shifted east slightly. I can tell because I can slightly walk inside of walls on the west side of buildings, but I can't fully approach walls on the east side.

 

Regardless, great work. Once you are able to optimize the map so buildings not visible aren't rendered, or the player has a GTX 1080 TI, the FPS will improve.

Remember what I mentioned regarding the relocation of those files into the update.rpf. It will drastically shrink the download size of your mod. :)

 

But I am curious, what is your next goal?

 

Regarding the colisions, there are two ways to fix them. I thought of it baised on what John told me.

-Reconvert them with correct pivots.

-Move the models so they line up. Obviously you should avoid moving the props, vegitation, or Ocean Vew interior. They appear to have correct pivots. This method is a work around, but would be quick and easier to do, and the difference wouldn't be noticeable.

 

If you plan on fixing it, I would give people a heads up. I fully expect map editor mods for this to appear.

 

 

 

Edit: I did a quick and dirty fix for the Mansion, regarding the interior view models, and the doorway. Now it looks correct. When GTARandom fixes it, he would obviously do it correctly. lol. Unfortanatly, I'm not sure how to get the model names out of the ymap as they are hashes so I had to use a dirtier method.

 

Anyways all you have to do is rename or delete the following files from the dlc.rpf in the miami folder.

-man_backside_int.ydr

-man_build_int.ydr

-man_doorway2.ydr

Are you using modded GTA Online?

I use the incompatible assets error with my own RPF mods in order to have my "private servers" for me and my friends to enjoy, without the instability and LSPDFR players in FiveReborn, along with the game being fully updated.

 

If Vice City were closer, I could make races there, but the creator doesn't let me place props past a certain boundary (even though the camera can reach VC).

 

But for the record, I usually play in SP as I can use a lot more scripts. The screens from the Diaz mansion are SP by the way.

If you somehow need help with textures like especially with graffiti textures let me know I can make completely new Graffiti textures. I´ve been doing Graffiti for years so I have hell lot of experience and can help you out with that. Even I can remaster the Old Original textures when you hand them out to me.

Testing build a mission in Vice V and remade a classic Vice City mission "phnom penh '86".

 

Turned out pretty good other than the chopper not landing at the end.

I believe V is a bit more mod friendly than IV since we're able to tap into Rockstar's DLC setup that lets them add pretty much whatever they want to the game via updates. However I have no scope of how difficult this stuff is since I have only basic coding experience.

"Jelly" has uploaded a review on youtube.

 

That sc*mbag. Back in the days, when he was on gta5videos youtube channel, I won a so called 'giveaway'. People had to follow him on twitter, on youtube, and like the video in order to be able to win. Of course it was fake, i never saw my price.

 

I wonder why the biggest idiots on youtube always have the most subscribers. I mean, check those idiots like 'LispyJimmy' and 'Sernandoe'. Everyday a new fake 'gta 6' video. Reuploading other people their videos and gaining money. And youtube approves this sh*t?

 

Really, sometimes on youtube, i lose my faith in humanity.

Yes, but only after i finish editing or remaking the city, depends on which route i'll take, not sure if to remodel old VC map or make a new city of Vice from scratch using some procedural methods, ofcourse i wouldn't model it all by myself :p:D

keep it legit man Use original everything. Then let everyone update textures other sh*t. Keep it simple will make most success.

Anyway, OP, finish this mod at least with vanilla resources and give community a chance to improve it.

Well, according to Neodymium the ynd files, paths can already be made with his tool, however one needs to know C# and what those files contain to write such a thing.

Why not remaking the original Vice City police cars? I think someone already did this for GTA IV. That would let us to travel in time instead of traveling to a another City :D
