How would you improve this game?

The title says all, I think.

 

Storyline, characters, weapons, cars, gameplay... ANYTHING.

 

Here's how I would improve it:

 

A PC version.

More side-missions.

Dynamic Dual Wielding (For example: Wield a Colt Python in one hand and an Ingram Mac-10 in the other one.)

Ability to carry three weapons only like in Max Payne 3:

 

Two small weapons, which would be in Toni's pockets, and one large weapon, which would be in Toni's hands. The large weapon would be shifted to Toni's right hand before you can use one of the two small weapons OR the weapon would have to be dropped (and thankfully, saved forever) for dynamic dual-wielding as mentioned above.

Other than that I would have a way to remove the barriers that don't let you cruise peacefully around all of Liberty and put one or two helicopters in the game as a reward for a mission or something.

Allow the Hunter for usage - it's in the game files, but you can't find it/use it in the game without the help of a trainer. When I was a kid, I searched for every video in YouTube regarding instructions on how to get it (of course they were fake). Good memories.

Have your gang back you up. You're supposed to be Salvatore's mothereffin right hand, yet if you punch a Leone or 'borrow' one of their cars they will go after you till death (FYI, killing a made man is punished with death...). It would be nice to have them have upgraded shotguns (launches a resentful look at III's shotgun-pumped Leones) and be able to recruit them, for round-ups on enemy gangs or missions or something. Just this time have them be useful (launches another resentful look at SA's GSF members)

Some nice enhancements to the both sniper rifles:

 

Scope bouncing here and there instead of the boring, unrealistically super-accurate scope.

Wait eight seconds maximum for the barrel to cool down before firing off another round from the rifle.

Ability to use the rifle in both first and third person views.

Toggleable first person view, no need to hold down that DAMN TARGET BUTTON!

I would get rid of the sh*tty patchy compressed graphics and replace them with III's for one.

Rain droplets on screen like in VC XBOX.

LCS iOS graphics for all versions.

I really liked the way the colors looked on the PSP and would never want it to look like III or the iOS versions. What I would have done however is improve the soundtrack, was that Del Mundo sh*t or whatever it's called worth the effort? Liberty Jam is my sh*t though.

 

I would have made the roofs solid on the PS2/iOS version so the Maverick could actually be used.

TBH, I would like Rockstar to re-release the whole game using an engine similar to San Andreas and by adding all the features San Andreas ever had, while keeping storyline all the same. It's the first 3D game and I'm pretty sure that people wouldn't complain about a HD Era remake as long as they get an improved engine.

By showing Toni Cipriani become a made man like in Godfather 1. Was disappointed having him go into a building then just get dropped off at the safehouse.

 

Also the ability to duck like in SA or at least VC.

1. The ability to carry fire weapons separately. They can be real fun when used on traffic

2. Gain the ability to swimm via a side mission unlocked late in the game. It's REALLY inconvenient to be unable to swim around, hop off your boat when it's on fire, etc.

3. Other NPCs in the Subway Train and Portland EI Train, and that NPCs that spawn at the subway will occasionally get on the train. They spawn around the station, but never get on the train. Also it feels so strange that only Toni uses them.

I would make it easier to obtain a helicopter, and give the player the ability to swim. I don't know why Rockstar didn't give Toni the swimming ability in LCS, when they gave it to Carl in SA, way before LCS was ever even released. In fact, I don't know why they didn't implement the swimming ability since the beginning in GTA III. Game engine restrictions, perhaps? I don't know. And as for the helicopters, you can only obtain one in Calm Before the Storm; beside that, the game doesn't give you any further access to a helicopter. Finally, I would port the game over to PC. I don't know why Rockstar is catering to the console peasants by only releasing it on PS2/PSP.

Carry more or less weapons depending on outfit. For example: If you're wearing the underwear outfit, then you can carry ONLY ONE weapon.

I play it on PS2 but i wish it ran properly on the PC PS2 emulator, it slows to unplayable crawl and there is no fix, saying that though ViceCity PS2 runs crap on the emulator as well but ViceCity Stories runs fine so does GTA3 and San Andreas.

I always wished ViceCity Stories and LibertyCity Stories had been released on PC. I reckon they would have done ok sales wise

Japs have good sales when they rerelease their older console exclusive on steam.

If Take 2 hadn't stopped the mods, the sale would be great.

 

Also LCS runs like ass on original PS2 2. It's not PCSX2's fault, but the game itself

I think the reason it was never released on PC or XBOX for that matter is because on release GTA3/ViceCity where supposed to be PS2 exclusives and i think thats why LCS and VCS never saw ports to PC or XBOX.

Outfits:

 

* Change the Underwear outfit so Toni wears a pair of plain white socks, plain white boxer shorts and a plain white undershirt vest.

Better main antagonist wouldnt hurt..I don't even remember the dude's name anymore. LCS had the worst GTA antagonist ever.

 

Same with a better protagonist, Toni is just too much of an asskisser and doesn't have much personality apart from that. I only like the story because of Salvatore who is an iconic 3D era character.

 

Its not a good Mafia story either and feels like a wasted opportunity. Still an enjoyable game

Hmm, with what should I start... Oh yeah.

 

Weapons:

-unique models/textures that aren't recycled from VC

-some newer stats wouldn't hurt either

 

Vehicles:

-remake the ExSess or replace it with Kuruma; the ExSess is a modified Kuruma, which is pretty evident if you take a closer look

-make the Thunder-Rodd roundier; compared to cars such as the Hermes and the Hustler, it's too blocky

-spawn the helicopters and the Dodo on the map and borrow their controls and physics from VCS

-optional, but the V8 Ghost could be a little more similar to the Esprit

 

Characters:

-a proper style for some characters (Miguel, Micky, 8Ball, O'Donovan, Avery, Toshiko, probably more) since they use assets from either GTA 3 or VC (mostly the heads)

 

Story:

-since it was released after GTA Advance, the plotholes could've been filled up

 

Controls:

-climbing, swimming

 

Also a PC port
