Ok laugh at me if you want, but not everyone sees everything at the same time.

I played San Andreas way back in 2004 when it first came out on PS2 (European version) and I've never seen this before, I don't think it was on the version I had. I only just saw this for the first time yesterday !! This short movie about events in SA before the actual game story had me hooked to the screen, it was that good that I wanted to watch more !!

This is Rockstar at their best right here. Watching this made me realise even more just how badly Rockstar's writing had deteriorated with V. Laugh at me for being very late on this one, but I'm just so glad I've seen this, it's amazing stuff to watch.

San Andreas is legendary for a reason !!

Honestly this is pure gold. Watching this actually makes me want to play San Andreas again. I will do again soon, but with mods, so I'm even more fired up to play this game again after watching this !

Just went to this throwback game store near my house earlier today and picked up San Andreas for $6, only one in stock. Now, all I have to do is find the Ps2 laying around the house and fire it up. :)

If you have a PS4, you can actually download it, it has smoother graphics too.

No Ps4. Actually sold my Xbox a while ago because I needed the money.

I wish they would do another introduction movie like this for a future installment, looking back at this one it explains a lot of stuff and it's great to see all the little nods and references to previous games.

According to GTA Wiki it was an extra with the special edition of the U.S PS2 version hence why it wasn't widely available at the time.

Yeah I read that earlier, and man, that really pissed me off !! I mean how can Rockstar dare to only allow a privileged few out of the masses of GTA's army of fans, and the rest of us miss out ? If I had seen this video before playing the game for the first time, I'd have been even more engrossed in what was already largely an entertaining story, despite some of it's obvious flaws.

This what I like about San Andreas compared to V, and this is why I like SA more even thought it's 9 years older than V. Both games have wacky, over the top moments, but this video is a reminder that SA still retained that gritty, urban crime and gang drama to keep us GTA purists immersed in it's whole narrative saga - which V failed to do on all fronts.

@ Achlys

If you did read my post properly, I made it clear that I played the European PS2 version of SA when it first came out, as I live in the UK, so naturally I'm not gonna get the American version, let alone the Special Edition which had the video. The European version had no such edition that included it, so therefore it was extremely unlikely I would have got the chance to see this video when it first came out, or even it to see it all. I am actually very lucky enough to somehow randomly come across it, as SA is so old now.

So laugh all you want, but the joke don't make much sense if I had a very valid and logical reason to not have seen this for all these years.

Yeah I didn't know about it until I went to a friends house and it showed up on his game. I was like "wait, what?", and he was like "oh? That? Yeah that happens all the time".

I like the idea of an introduction before you actually play it. Makes things that happen later on make sense.

Update on the Ps2: Missing controller, audio/video jacks/ and memory card

How do you have a PS2 without a controller, cables, and memory card? :p

It's been in storage forever in a box with other stuff, I don't know how I lost them.

Respect for the R* guys, for an amazing plot for SA.
