Why is the Comet Retro Custom taking a bashing? Price, performance, looks? The Elegy Retro Custom performs no better than the Elegy RH8, but seems to be widely adored.

 

+1 because it's gorgeous.

Don't really get it either. If I had to pick on looks alone, it would be my nr1. And the performance is still far above par.

Then again, I don't get a lot of downvotes. Feltzer is getting so much hate as well, even though that car is the epitome of what a sports car should be like.

+1 on the massacro just because it is one of my favorit cars, i honestly think most of the scores kinda fit...i can understand the reasoning.

-2 for the carbon though because i do not even know why people think that car is that great.

Sure it is fun to drive and has a nice engine note, and it is convertible, but the performance is really underwhelming and there are many sports that are better for the money, even if you just like to cruise.

No offence, mate, but I don't understand your aggressiveness. I don't see anything "sh*tty", "ugly" or "forced" about them, but I still respect the opinions of those who do.

 

That's Rockstar's interpretation of what a racing version of those cars look like, and sometimes they get it wrong, but not in my opinion.

 

It's no big deal, but I'd still feel a bit embarrassed if the Feltzer or Comet got knocked out before THREE different versions of the pretty boring Buffalo, for example. And the Schwartzer that no-one drives ever, except NPCs.

I agree that the stock versions could've been toned down a bit to at least have street legal versions of them. But in a sports class I expect cars to be the racecar versions of their normal counterparts, and in that aspect they're one of the few in the class to be exactly that. The Feltzer is just a mixture of the sl65 AMG black series and the SLS AMG GT3 and the Comet Retro is a mixture of the Yellowbird and 80's/90's GT3 versions of the 911. That's as much "sports" as it can be imo.

The Buffalo isn't competitive on paper but when racing against randoms I once came in third against cars like Omnis, Massacro, Jester, Elegy, etc. Every dog has its day.

 

Seven-70: I still prefer either Massacro.

Why is the Comet Retro Custom taking a bashing?

2013

 

"We want a classic Comet just like the one in Vice City!"

 

"Okay, we'll be right on that in... 3 years from now. Gotta make 20 supercars first for those delicious Shark Card sales."

"Wow! The modding community was awesome at modelling a RWB Comet, and the Tuners & Outlaws Fanmade Update video that it starred in was amazing!"

 

"Oh, right, these guys wanted a classic Comet before. We were so busy creating a Ferrari prototype that we forgot that vehicle classes other than Supers exist. Since they wanted a classic Comet before, and they liked the fanmade RWB model, and we like to cut corners on anything that isn't exotic and expensive... Eureka!

"Ladies and gentlemen, since some of you wanted a classic Comet, others wanted a RWB Comet, and an even bigger some desired for both, we came up with a genius plan to make everyone happy. Behold, the Comet Retro Custom!

 

It's an old Comet, like you asked. It's a custom RWB Comet, like you asked. It's full of modeling errors and has an irremovable bodykit, like we asked. See? It's a mix of everything to make everyone kinda happy and stop them from bitching at us for a while, and that was all achieved with the least amount of effort!

 

Oh, and before you tell us that it makes more sense to add a regular classic Comet as a separate item, we don't like making sense and we're lazy as hell. That would require us to make two separate models, that means extra work and more time wasted on things people actually want, and that's bad.

 

Besides, if we let you get the classic model, then no one will buy it because it doesn't look unique/funky, and then they won't install the most abhorrent modification options and color it in lime green like we intended it to be. Now shut up and don't request anymore vehicles that aren't supercars from us, we will f*ck it up in the most half-assed way possible to make sure you don't annoy us ever again.

 

Now, gentlemen, how about we make a Panto Donk with anime and videogame liveries? That'll roll in the dosh, mostly because half of the player who'll buy it have a sh*tty randumb sense of humor, and the other half will buy it because they legitimately are obsessed with anime. That's how pathetic our fanbase is!"
