Don't use Helicopters against a Ruiner 2k.

 

Use a street bike..coupled with the CGL.. and Stickys and proxies... and OTR.

 

I don't know what CGL means.

You would not snack on the mission-enhanced R2K, and as for being up against 28 of them in a lobby, there can be only one enhanced R2K at a time.

Some people don't seem to understand the difference between the regular ruiner and the vip ruiner.

To be fair, the difference doesn't matter imo. The driver is just as easily shot out of either version.

 

But you are right that people don't know the difference.

Got called a cheater today when 1 sticky bomb didn't bring me down.

 

 

hell I get called a cheater every time I run executive search and am hiding in the train tunnel close to the helipad. I park stationary right under a concrete expressway berm so it looks like I'm inside the berm. And for the few who do finally figure out where I am, they are greeted by me in a tank. I'd also add prox at the entrance but the train comes by too often and sets that off.

Don't contact Rockstar to have them nerf it. Nerf this...buff that...petition here...they are a billion dollar company and they do what they want.

If a bunch of people keep saying the same thing, the programmers do take it into consideration for the next update. That's how a lot of things get changed and fixed. For example, they kept changing their mind about bad sport for blowing up cars depending on which version you were playing.

Very true actually. That's one of the reasons the tank is now weedy. They overdid the nerf in my opinion (and I'm actually for de-nerfing it/buffing ti back to its old state now), but it shows they want feedback.

 

Or used to. They've strayed a little lately, gone a bit cranky.

Hi everybody. I'm a Rank 445 with a KDR of 6.7, and no one is better than me at flying a buzzard, but I can't fly a jet for sh*t.

 

I am also expert at stickybombing people from a moving vehicle (see my screen name).

 

I cannot defeat the Ruiner 2000.

 

I have tried to shoot it with my buzzard. It won't lock on. Boom. I'm dead.

 

I have tried to shoot it with my non-lock on missiles, which I am very, very deadly accurate with. Ruiner 2000 moves fast and shoots me boom. I'm dead.

 

I go at it with a tank. It fires 3 missiles at me in less than 1.5 seconds. No buzzard can do that. It's 2 shots in 1 second then wait 3 seconds. Boom. I'm dead.

 

Mind you I did all of this using my usual "foolproof" techniques. Off radar. Ghost Org. Putting a sticky on the front of my car while invisible and sneaking up on it.

 

It's like they have homing but you can't home on them, right? And they can shoot and it always hits, no dodging it, right?

 

I can only imagine the discussion at the highest levels of rockstar:

 

"Seems a bit OP, don't you think?"

 

"Yeah but they're gonna have to buy a $100 shark card to get it in most cases."

 

"Oh, carry on then."

 

I did not know it was possible for someone who has played thousands of hours between GTA IV Online and GTA V Online to feel like a helpless absolute complete noob almost reduced to the tears I am supposed to be feasting on instead of crying, but there it is.

 

Does anyone have some expert tips and strategies? Otherwise I'm going to just give up and buy one myself.

Sounds like you spend allot of time griefing to have such a high K/D, but I digress the R2K from the VIP work is very hard to destroy.

 

I have better success shooting the driver in the face since glass is not BP.

 

Other than that, you need to get them by surprise in an insurgent but stay out of their rockets range.

Nobody can have a 6.7 K/DR without griefing on a criminal level. Wow. I can't imagine how miserable it is to play with the OP. Absolutely miserable, knowing that if a player with comparable skill starts fighting him, your friend will leave 100 times out of 100, knowing that you can never play deathmatches or GTA races or literally anything whatsoever in which K/DR can be even the slightest bit compromised is almost entirely off limits. I bet if you're his friend and you accidentally kill him, he wants to kill you 7 times to make up for it for his polished little K/DR pole.


That said, this thread has been very interesting and informative.

Based on the comments, what I'm wondering is how many of you actually personally go after individuals for the sake of humiliating and dominating them in free mode, over great deals of time and with great effort? I mean, I deal with someone doing this to me every once in awhile, but I just assume they're mentally ill. I don't know what kind of insane state of mind someone needs to be in to pursue other players so intently (without any profit motivation), and then, when it doesn't work out, come on a forum to weep tears of humiliation and ask for help on how to continue griefing with more effectiveness.

I suppose I meet someone like this in just about every full session.

I want to ask you griefers with K/DRs of over 3.0 (you can't have a 3.0 or higher without being a dedicated griefer), why do you do what you do? I'm not going to harass anyone about the fact that they probably grief because they also glitch and therefore have an unlimited amount of money. That is already assumed for anyone with a K/DR over 3.0 The burden of proof is on them to prove that they don't glitch.

That's not the point.

Why, or how do you get to the point where the purpose of being on GTAO is to grief?

Furthermore, if you're on here crying about not being able to grief effectively, then why don't you just buy the Ruiner?


It seems like the final answer to the thread is simple; BUY THE RUINER SO YOU CAN GRIEF MORE EFFECTIVELY.

Buy the Ruiner and start fully loaded to make it harder for jet squeakers to kill you.

 

Also be off the radar as often as the game allows.

Disclaimer: This OP Ruiner 2000 only works for 20:00 minutes. However, the VIP mission can be started every 10:00 minutes I believe.

It is not invincible. It can be destroyed.

Uh I'm pretty sure it's actually an hour you have to wait.

Yeah, the Fully Loaded VIP work Ruiner 2000 is stupidly armored and loaded with rockets.

It takes like 4-5 rockets to blow it up while it has infinite rockets.

The only solution for it is to just shoot the driver. From a distance. With a sniper. Like a little bitch.

But the regular Ruiner 2000 is pretty stupid compared to the VIP Work and Contract mission ones. Can be blown up with one rocket and has 8 rockets.

So that explains why I almost was griefed by this damn thing. I was in an insurgent off the radar with stickies on the front, and my target was smart enough to turbo boost at the right moment. I Completely whiffed. Then came the barrage of infinite missles. The missile spam hit stun is so bad, you can't turn your insurgent around. I was confused to as why this guy was able to shoot more than 8 missles, so this Fully Loaded VIP work explains it. I knew something was up. Anyways, I took the easy way out right before the insurgent went up in flames.

 

When I was on foot I was smart enough to keep putting down stickies at my feet while trying to fire rockets at him. Good thing too, cause he would jump and fire a missile in my direction with precision. After firing my misssle I would detonate the stickie to kill my self. That went on for what felt like a half hour, having me confused to why he's still able to spam rockets.

 

Good luck with that shooting the driver out the car method y'all, cause if they are smart- they will always jump in front of you so you can't lock on or get a clear shot.

If you are on foot, the Ruiner's missiles are much less lethal without the lock-on feature, and you can simply auto-aim kill them if they are dumb enough to get close.

 

If you can't beat it - just go high out of reach or land for 20 minutes, have a wank or something, make a few witty helicopter posts on here.

 

Come back, spawnkill. You'll have an hour before they can even begin to get another.

 

One thing I'd find really funny (still have to come across one of them to try it), is to shoot the person out on foot, then get in a 'Bob and hold it over their head, just out of reach. Really want to try that lol.

 

And here was about to suggest this exact use of the Cargobob as well...

And here was about to suggest this exact use of the Cargobob as well...

It's kind of inspired by the 'Bob tactics I used to use against pre-nerf tanks.

 

Back then you couldn't call up another Pegasus vehicle until the current one was destroyed, so I would get hold of people's tanks before them, then drop them in places they could never get them free.

 

The 'Bob really is beautiful.

An Insurgent is a powerful counter to the Ruiner since that thing is built to absorb explosive damage, also useful in countering those who just spam stickies out the window of their cars as well. I use it often when players get spammy with their explosives, so much so that they give the Demoman from TF2 a run for his money.

While I like the idea, wouldn't they just, I don't know, shot you down with a RPG or the Homing Launcher?

I think the best way is to go off rader, auto-aim shoot the guy out of the Ruiner, jack the car and drive away as far as possible, although I guess you can also operate it?

If you finally destroy the ceo Ruiner, a fresh new one will spawn as long as the mission time runs.

Meh, killed one in a R2K while during Fully Loaded yesterday.

 

Just aprroach from behind, on foot, and get a lock-on their heads, windows aren't bulletproof and they are quite big.

Just shoot the driver. I don't understand the issue. I've had plenty of people kill me while driving my Ruiner 2000.

During fully loaded I avoid players on foot and focus on low hanging fruit.

 

I avoid other players on foot anytime I am driving anything. In autoaim cars are deathtraps lol.

 

I agree. I wish it worked so that when you duck the auto-aim would disable. Just like when you roll when aiming.

Problem is youd get killed by other players 10 times for every ten times the ruiner got you.
