It's actually the "cops" (agent Steve Haines and the IAA) that organised most of the storyline heists.

Yeah just because it's a game it should have no believability what so ever. We're talking about story and a GAME that has almost life like worlds.

To OP: stock market isn't canon, maybe only for Franklin.

It isn't explained thoroughly but just the fact that Lester is smart. The FIB set up the heists for the most part. It's just that the cops are dumb/don't care and Lester can cover it up good too.

How far do you take reality in a game? In real life most of the stuff you do would have you arrested or shot to death in about a few minuets.

Id love the game to be like real life but come on, you would have the cops on you all the time, crossing the road at the wrong place, stealing a car, you would be unable to progress in the game, you would be stuck with mundane tasks like delivering pitza or flowers, things that wouldnt get you into trouble.

Its a game and gta is about doing things you know you could never do in real life.

"life like" ??

"belivability" ??

are you for real? i dont know about your "real" life, but mine have nothing to do with that game, and if they intended to do it more real, there are far worse things them that

i guess in your real life you can take one RPG out of you ass aswell

Indeed, and they used Mike and Trev and Frank because they knew they were in on the ones before they organized them, right?

And with Steve and Westin dead at the end, and Dave being a pretty cool scumbag, he won't say anything about the big one.

But what about the jewelry store heist though? It seems pretty weird that, despite the hectic chase up until you reach the sewers, the police forget about you once you ram into enough police cars.

Most of the available police forces were located at the store or on the way to it, the crew heads to the tunnel, police be like "sh*t, where are the exits? where do they leave?" They spread, maybe nearby officers guard some exits. Then the crew gets out in the sewers. Most police will have to relocate to the sewers.

My guess, they just loose the "few" cops who are at the sewers and use a tiny hole in the search radius to escape and slip through. Most of the police force that would cause trouble is still too far away to be a threat. Gameplay wise, this is accomplished with losing the wanted level.

It still seems weird that none of the cops in the sewers got on their radio and said "There's a bigass truck helping the suspects out, you can't miss it because it's a bigass truck". Some dude on youtube actually did a pretty good video on it.
