Is ghost town finished?

Is it that hard to view the last few renders?

ok...I've seen the renders just now man

Then you've got your answer.

-------------

What about expanding the LC Countryside to connect Bullworth (which I've fully ported) later down the line?

Just wanted to stop by and say this map mod is absolutely amazing! It is the definitive version of GTA 3's map, and it should definetely be a part of GTA Underground!

And don't change how the motorways are placed! Its all perfect! Now to connect the north east of Ghosttown to Bullworth, and the west of Upstate Liberty to Carcer City!

One other thing - is the area Ghosttown actually named Ghosttown when ingame, or are the districts given specific names?

Ghostown is just a fan given name. It's actually just a weird collective of fake floating storefronts used in the opening cutscene that Adus made into a city.

I know, I meant when the Ghost Town becomes part of GTA Underground what will the actual names be for the locations?

I like the chinatown so far! Especially how it looks like it will have more ped-only areas than the one in Liberty City.

Made some suburbs houses:

Actual ingame test (learnt to assign prelight):

Also GTA 3 supports Vertex Alpha, probably good idea to use it on the countryside.

Nice use of the game textures, city flawless mounted and everything respectiong the scales. Its very rare to see someone respecting scales nowadays. I got pretty amazed at the suburb houses, good job!

But at the countryside:

-Did you do the curves at a steady radius? i cant see that at the renders. That is is an utterly important detail that doesnt make any difference at the model quality but does all the difference at gameplay. Sudden radius changes at the middle of the curve leads to car crashes everytime the player reaches the curve, because he has to brutally break the car. And i saw that curves at your renders a lot. Thats a common mistake, and even Gostown has these terriible curves.

That first example was the most screaming one. People like to speed on highways. Unattended, they will keep the speed and fly off the highway at the curve shown in red. There are anothers:

I suppose and im affraid that you cant fix that anymore. Try to at least remedy that with roadsigns before each of these curves, something like "SLOW DOWN: DANGEROUS CURVE AHEAD" or something like that and put it 50 metres before the curve to warn unattended players and keep their brand new car in mint condition.

-Really good job at landscape. Smooth transitions everywhere, except at the mountains.

Montains look too terraced but i cant really blame you on that one. GTA3 era also have these terraced mountains. But try to see some mountain reference images to do a more realistic one next time.

Thank you for your opinion.

I'm not completly happy with the countryside either. I finished the landscape somewhere in 2015 so I'd do a lot of things differently now.

The highway needs heavy edits so I will remake it anyway. Fixing other roads shouldn't be a problem too.

If I may share my opinion, the entire universe is always in a short radius, making transitions very difficult. So far I can see a lot of similarities to GTA III and San Andreas maps. I like the progress.

Also, quality feedback, MenuET. Keep it up!
