Starting from Scratch (Could You?)

I would not mind starting again as long as I keep my two characters (basicly starting a third character). But starting again after i lost my two main characters, no way.

As much as I freaking love this game I don't think I could again.

 

I started a 2nd char pretty early on and ranked them up to 120 exclusively on DM's.

For myself personally I think it's too far on to consider starting a new one from scratch, way to much catching up to do.

 

I've got a secondary PSN that I've used on other games occasionally to benefit my main (ie I've gave myself a few extra troops in MGSV) but GTA hasn't been touched on it.

Maybe I could start another char exclusively for dicking about, but that would be time = money wasted I could have spent on my main's.

And I wouldn't get returning player content and I don't think I could live without a Dukes.

I would. In fact, I have multiple times already. I had 3 accs on 360 that were fully stocked. Info on accounts were so old I couldn't recover them to transfer to xb1. So I started from scratch. .

 

I'm enjoying it a lot actually.. so much that I've made multiple accounts again to always have a fresh start ready.

If you get banned, both your characters are wiped out and you can't access Online for a month. So.. if my both characters get wiped I'd just delete the entire game.

BUT, The only thing that will convince me to start again is if one of my real-life friends actually buys the f*cking game.

 

Here are the questions I would begin with, given the provided scenario:

 

• Would you play again? - Yes, if I can play it with my real-life friend.

• What would be the first thing you'd do? - Whatever my friend wants.

• Where would you choose to live? - 3 Alta St. at first. To complete the l33t challenge on the Fleeca Job.

• What car would you get first? - Kuruma? I dunno. But the Akuma is a must.

• How would you begin making money? - Grinding solo or coop contract missions. Then move on to Heists. Then CEO.

• Would you consider buying a Shark Card (or two, three, etc.)? - Nah. Could barely afford the game.

• Once you had enough money, would you spend it to do Heists? MC? CEO? - CEO, of course. SecuroServ contract missions and vehicle cargo.

 

And in contrast:

 

• What would you do different this time?

• Anything you wouldn't do?

• Anything you wouldn't buy?

• How would you spend your money?

The answer to these: "IF you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?, or "What advice would you give to your younger-self?"

- Don't buy so many apartments. Trade in.

- Buy the office with the office garage first (when you ask for your personal vehicle Office Garage 1 should be first)

- Don't buy a lowrider, ever

- One fast bike (Akuma), One fast car (811)(At first), a Buzzard and a Kuruma are essential.

- Don't even think about buying a clubhouse

- Yacht is cool if on a big sale

I'm new to next-gen and so I must ask - is it still 2 characters you can have? Don't have a problem starting a new one but I'm certainly not deleting any characters to make that happen.

My apologies - I worded that wrong. I was wondering if we could have more than the standard 2 characters. I remember the character selection on ps3 and it looked as if they had intended to have up to 4 but needless to say it didn't turn out like that.

• What would be the first thing you'd do? : Steal a custom sentinel as my gifted car from Simeon (and if for some reason it doesn't spawn, just a baller or a felon GT)
• Where would you choose to live? Tinsel tower, and later I would add 3 alta st for heist only
• What car would you get first? : Outside of the gifted car off the street (custom sentinel) I would buy a bike actually, maybe a regular Hakuchu right away, since it's my favorite bike in the game.

• How would you begin making money? : I would mix contact mission with races (because the contact mission grind isn't my favorite thing in the game, a bit of an overdose from the early days)
• Would you consider buying a Shark Card (or two, three, etc.)? : Nope
• Once you had enough money, would you spend it to do Heists? MC? CEO? : I would focus on heist and CEO first, than later down the line a bit of MC for some extra
• How would it affect your current routine of gameplay? : I would reduce frequency of vip mission that's all, since these days I only freeroam and do VIP and some racing

• What would you do different this time? : I would reduce invite only session and solo public session to strict minimum.
• Anything you wouldn't do? : I wouldn't buy a hydra or a kuruma, at least not before a long while
• Anything you wouldn't buy? : I just mentioned it above, I could add, the yacht, at least not for a while, and probably never unless they add an use for it
• How would you spend your money? : Vehicles and facilities of course, what else?

No they changed that entire screen, it doesn't even exist on CG. You can only have 2 characters.

Yeah, I'd start again. It wouldn't take that long to rank up and get all the weapons. There isn't any benefit to being over rank 135 anyway because that's when you have unlocked all weapons and armour carrying ability. But I would glitch money like crazy to get all my cars and property back though.

I did start from scratch back in September of last year. Tbh it was a breath of fresh air, I actually had new enthusiasm for the game. Playing when ranking up and grinding cash actually meant something again for a while has been great.

 

I still have 2 things to achieve that I've never done, gold Securoserv trophy and Criminal Mastermind.

No absolutely not. After 3 and a half yrs, over 400 ranks across two characters and over 75 days online. Hundreds of millions earned, owning everything I want with everything sorted out nicely. If we all got reset to zero and all we got was 500k I would pay to ship my copy of the game to R*s office with a letter telling them to shove it up their ass. I would also never buy another game produced by them.
