PSA: Playlisting Missions

I mentioned this in Things You Didn't Know and it got some interest, so here's a thread to give it wider play.

I am not the finding founder, or the founding finder, or a foundling.

Put simply, you can now (as of 1.37) make playlists with any contact missions. You can make one with 16 Los Santos Connections, or all your favourite flying missions, whatever.

1. Play the missions you wish to playlist

2. Pause > Online > Playlists > My Playlists > Create

3. Use the "recently played jobs" option to choose the missions

4. Have a gold star!

The mission you add with the highest player requirement (eg Chop Chop is 4-6) will determine how many people you need for the entire playlist.

You can add races, DMs, whatever, if you choose.

Happy grinding!

Yes this is very useful. I've only made one playlist so far of my favourite missions but it's nice to play through from time to time.

I believe all missions can be added now by the non-contact missions in my guide but I am hopefully gonna do some testing of this soon.

I made a Cargobob playlist, Wet Workers etc, I just *really really* wish they would bring back the old playlist spawning where-you-finished so I could build some cool journeys. Bored of starting every mission in the same f*cking place, usually a 10s run from the action.

Sadly I'm so committed to grinding these days that I know this isn't going to be as lucrative as vehicle cargo and VIP work combined so will probably not use it 😂

I consider Contact Missions essentially free practice for other stuff, so I've been taking my R2K into them for a while. On The List or Judging the Jury are good Hydra training, etc.

Also, VC export timers do countdown while doing them (just not as fast due to menus etc). So I put a Lester's Warehouse finish at the end, and respawn right next to my Murrieta Heights VW.

Played it yesterday, 4 player min requirement for some reason. Landing Gear is another 4 player min.

Non Funkable Token

^No fun allowed again. Doing it solo was challenging like no other contact mission.

Real shame they changed that as it was the original designers plan, it just never got finished, the floating choppers that hadn't been landed at mission end clearly was too hard for them to fix also.

I remember I made a mission playlist a while back but it got wiped :( Anyway, I've got a new one up an running with my favorite missions :D

Would like to point out though that you can't add the same job to the same playlist more than once like that CCO ones.

Some side tips:

If you have a mission in your playlist with minimum/maximum players, only so much are needed/can play throughout the entire playlist.

Say you have Editor and Thief and The Los Santos Connection in on playlist, only 2 people can play the playlist.

You can add Special Vehicle Missions from the PC. You won't start at your Office but at the apartment next to Acardius.

You can restart playlists, thus restart missions without having another loading screen.

Something I meant to test but didn't: When do they appear in Recent Jobs list?

1. You have to complete them

2. You have to fail them (die twice)

3. You can just quit via phone

I've got a feeling it's 1. but 2. would be useful, speed wise.

1 and 2 definitely works. Didn't test out 3.

Oh and another thing I forgot, sometimes the jobs won't appear in Recently played, all you have to do then is to restart the game and they should be there.

I have a question, does your game load specific JSON files when playing Time Trials ?

I play XB1 and cba to wireshark it or whatever.

Well Gang attacks are classified as UGC content (Content made by the Creator).

I'm asking because I'm wondering if it is possible to have a playlist of Time Trials.

What is the method of getting a special vehicle into your contact mission? Even if it's the non-VIP-work version I'd still love to give that a try.

Ironically it involves a playlist:

1. Get out the SPV you wish to use in missions

2. Complete a playlist (your own 1 x Criminal Records is fastest)*

3. Now it's your PV in the menu.

Don't get another PV out, and it will last until you log off.

*I think you have to use a custom PV in the race, but haven't checked. I always do.

I was making playlists with all soloable missions for each contact on pc a while back, joining, then quitting via phone definitely works. Also, i was able to add rooftop rumble just fine.

Just checked, and I did not see any json files loaded with the Time Trials.

Thanks for trying, but I've already discovered that it's not classified as UGC content.

They used this back then:

			"TIMETRIALVARIATION": [				{					"value": 18,					"start": 1462510800,					"end": 1462597200				},				{					"value": 21,					"start": 1462597201,					"end": 1462683600				},				{					"value": 3,					"start": 1462683601,					"end": 1462770000				},				{					"value": 2,					"start": 1462770001,					"end": 1462856400				},				{					"value": 8,					"start": 1462856401,					"end": 1462942800				},				{					"value": 11,					"start": 1462942801,					"end": 1463029200				},				{					"value": 4,					"start": 1463029201,					"end": 1494565200				}			]

It is a tunable variable with the "value" being the ID of the time trial.

I also have Rooftop Rumble in a playlist so you can definitely add that one as I've just done it on my 2nd profile.
