Let's admit it: Did you slaughter players? If yes, when and why?

Here I'm talking about trying to kill whoever you can kill in a session, massively and randomly, especially with your hydra, rhino or kuruma.

I think it's not called griefing, if griefing is defined as 1) killing teammates on purpose, or 2) killing a same player again and again.

My choice: I don't slaughter players often, but I will do it when I'm really angry (e.g. someone destroys my cargo and immediately leaves the session)

I used to regularly be one of those kill-on-sight types but I decided to stop it ages ago, purely because mass murdering a session just seemed like an asshole move. I will engage in bouts of heavy PvP when buggering about with friends but I won't be the one instigating the fight. I will go for a random revenge kill or two and that's pretty much the limit of my free roam PVP and instigation nowadays. Will gladly slaughter my way through a deathmatch, though.

I didn't use to slaughter other players and quite despised people who did, now I go on killing sprees quite often. And will grief a player without end until he leaves the session, however, I follow some rules.

1. Limitations on explosives. I won't spam explosives, mostly because I think it's cheap and not worth the money, however I will use them when needed.

2. No Hydra nor Lazer, however Insurgent and Savage is fair game.

3. No cheap suicides, a death is a death, if he killed me he deserves the kill. However... cops and civilian drives tend to butt in.

4. The player most have done something to me earlier, the only exception was once when me and my friend decided to try and empty a session... we succeeded.

I kill players only on missions (vip work, special vehicles) or if they annoy me/kill me or my friends/are killing other players in the momment or if they are red/have a bounty. (These rules are only for free roam of course).

I used to kill alot, but then I found it boring, unfortunately now I'm stuck with a K/D that makes the kids think I want to engage in their fight.

This. Although I don't do that much killing in freemode now (occasionally snipe a few griefers and bounties), back in my Deathmatch days I did a lot of killing. But like you said, now it kind of makes people do one of three things, two of which are quite annoying:

- Try to kick you.

- Leave you alone.

- Or come after thinking its just a modded K/D ratio.

Personally, I don't care about the K/D ratio anymore seeing as its hard to tell who's actually good and who's actually a try hard suicide addict.

Nah, but on the random chance that I'm actually in a lobby with other randoms, I will fire first if someone that I don't know comes near me. Much like in real life though, I don't engage at all with random people unless I have a good reason or they make the first move. :p

I'd always rather play a deathmatch or something similar if I want to kill other players; it's just not my thing at all within free roam. Also, I'm not condemning those who do enjoy it--as I said, it's just not for me personally. I have over 63,000 player kills at this point, and I'd say that more than about 98-99% are from job modes.

I also don't use the Kuruma, Hydra, or Rhino.

Randomly ? Never.

trying to kill whoever you can kill in a session, massively... ? Yes.

Like when people destroy my stuff, and then leave, usually that doesn't make me happy... Most of the time, I can revenge-grief the player who griefed me, so no need to go on rampage then, or take down jets that dominate other players.

To me it's VERRY clear R* doesn't give a dam() about griefing...

Otherwise they wouldn't use BOXVILLE'S in sale missions, EXPLOSIVE ROUNDS on JETS, give us the HOMING LAUNCHER (OP against helicopters, sh it against jets).

Is it really that HARD to balance a game !?

I slaughter people who try to score me after a heist.

Level 12 after i helped him with Fleeca tries to shoot my passive mode - i give him a favour back, disable passive and give him a lesson until he messages me "why you do this, stop"

Or random homolauncher guy aiming me minding my business.

I've used to be an extreme cnut in freemode who killed everybody i could see (never attacked cargo though), but i got really tired of it. Nowadays i'll ruin somebody's day if someone's going for my cargo, or if they attack me first.

I'd rather be goofing or making money than going around randomly annihilating anything in range. I did have a couple of days where I'd just grab my Buzzard and go after anything and racked up a quite a few kills (and hate messages) on the weekend but that is extremely rare for me.

I did this sometimes just to get my KD past 2.0 which is enough for me. I still do it on occasion but generally have a set of Los Santos etiquette rules-

-only kill players who come for me first or who get too close and it's a case of 'shoot first ask questions later'

-will join in bigger gun battles already going on and get stuck in

-don't kill really low ranked players as it's like shooting fish in a barrel

-if someone kills me or comes after a CEO delivery/ drug sale I am doing, then it's no holds barred, and the gloves are well and truly off- hydra jet's, explosives, Insurgent, Kuruma, muggers, ghost organization etc etc. they and their crew mates will be hunted again and again until they rage quit or send a grovelling message asking for the pain to stop!

I go after the nearest player regardless of rank etc...If they play with integrity we battle. Just looking for good competition.

Slaughter? That's a rather weird word to use.

I attack players who grief other players in jets with my own Hydra, organizations that goes around the map doing nothing but killing people, and players that generally annoy me if they're ever in my radius.

When it comes to the latter, it's a bit murky, but I'll explain. If they dress like absolute tools, which is easy as f*ck to do thanks to the clothes provided in this update and how tasteless the community is, then they'll get killed if they're ever near me and be given a message that they have a terrible sense of fashion. It also applies if they have terrible usernames, cringeworthy crews, horrid organization titles, that sort of thing.

In fact, I once witnessed a "Fluttershy" 4-person organization in a public session and looked at how the CEO dressed, and lo and behold, they wore pastel yellow and pink clothes with pink hair on a female character. Thankfully, the organization was friendly and the session was mostly empty outside from them and I and one other low level player, otherwise I would've let my inner jetsh*tter out and griefed them to no end.

LOL Slaughter,

Nice buzzword OP. You act like we are committing genocide or something. People get angry and therefore PvP happens, cause and effect. Hell even I get angry sometimes and feel the need to do a session cleansing using armored vehicles, or suicide bombings.

If you can't handle that fact, you shouldn't even be playing GTAO and/or leaving passive mode ever. It will happen and has happened.

I never attack anyone - there's no purpose of that. I generally stay in passive mode while playing in public sessions (with exception of the CEO stuff, but obviously I do it in... Less crowded lobbies), because there are better things to do than staying in free roam.

I've killed an unsuspecting player once (daily objective) and to this day I feel like an asshole because of that. I see no fun in shooting down people who did nothing to me, I'd rather cooperate with others in missions/heists, which I try to do often (and that's another reason for using passive mode, since I witness randoms killing other randoms after we all spawn after completing something pretty much on daily basis).

If there's a free roam event I care about enough to actually play it, or if I have daily objectives that don't require me to do something I normally wouldn't want to, sure, I'll play in a session for a while. Other than that, I turn on passive mode and play some co-op missions instead of wasting my time on pointless driving and shooting.

Maybe it's not considered a "slaughter", but I used to really enjoy rooftop sniping. It was always fun to perch up on a rooftop with a waist-high ledge in a high traffic area and just shoot unsuspecting players.

Really surprising how many players simply did not put it together that I was on the roof, I'd see a lot of them running around the building trying to find me. Then when I'd get several players searching for me, they'd break out into one of those all-consuming freeroam battles, and I'd just stay on the roof picking off the stragglers.

Eventually someone would fly in with a chopper, but it wasn't hard to take them down.

The Lazers were a bit more of a challenge, but if you took cover behind a wall away from the edges you were usually safe.

Some players would go off radar and try to parachute in, but simply scanning your surroundings frequently protected you from them.

This was also the only time I ever successfully had a mugger steal a player's tank. The guy brought his tank in thinking he'd be able to kill me with it (the rounds exploded before they reached the roof), and he was so preoccupied with trying that he never saw the mugger coming. I watched the whole thing on my minimap, it was glorious. I've got the video of it somewhere, need to find it.

Basically this. Though I'm a little forgiving with the whole "dress like tools" thing, because come on, let's face it...most of the population of GTAO are kids who just wear full combat armour and "scary" or "cool" masks. Occasionally, you'll get the bullet proof helmet guy.

Not really. I've killed everyone in a server with a jet to make a point about how it's easy and does not take any semblance of skill.

Just not my thing. I don't find it fun to grief people minding their own business. But I don't really fault those who do - it's part of the game.

I've done it a lot, yeah. I don't go on killing sprees in every session, often I am trying to make money instead. And sometimes I just goof off. But if the lobby is chaotic already or if I just feel like it, I'll start going after almost everyone. My biggest rules of thumb are not to repeatedly kill low levels - once is fine, but spawn-killing a level 5 is the lowest of the low - and to draw the line at griefing except people who really deserve it (e.g. guys who are calling jets over and over, hassling low levels, etc.).

I have little respect for players who see an org of low or mixed levels in the middle of nowhere and swoop in with a jet again and again to farm kills. I'd rather take out the guy in the jet and grief him than continually pound on the org.

I'll go with ''I never slaugthered players and don't care whoever slaughters players.''

I never really understood the appeal of killing each other over and over.

I'm a little surprised how anyone can play a shooter game and not get this at least a little bit. Essentially it's just a competition, not too different from trying to win at sports - but with the added incentive of being a more direct and less metaphorical outlet for real-world violent impulses
