Playing as Two Characters at Once - Your Thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea.

Another idea that i would like , is the ability to swap characters in freemode without going to the swapmenu. For example: If both characters have the same apartment the unused one could sit in there, watch tv or do something else and when you go near them you can switch between your characters with the press of a button. Aleo the ability to call your second char (like you call your mechanic) and get a car ut of your second characters garage.

I wouldn't mind seeing my guy and girl team up.

Who doesn't like playing with themselves?

Seriously though, it'd make Director mode so much more versatile, and would also be an interesting addition to missions that require more than one role (just like in SP). As it stands, Coleco and Latisha will never be able to actually meet in person, which is why they're never seen in the same shot in

.

Maybe people will argue that this kinda dissuades players from co-operating and playing together... but I would just point out all the Tattoo Tryhards, randumbs and oh-so-lulzy "trolls" that inhabit this game are far more damaging to the game experience than porting across a feature that's already implemented in SP.

I use two ps4's at once all the time. I use it for ceo missions, glitches and exploits, holding lobbies...

Yes, but this is discussing the idea of having both characters on one console in the same session :p

I would love something like this.

I really like both my characters, and some days I'm having big problems deciding which one I want to play with.

So having them both in the same session and ability to swap between them with a press of a button would be a dream come true.

My characters are sisters and they share the same bank, so it would make sense that they want to be together.

What about their health? Would they have infinite health or would they be able to take damage and eventually "die" but will respawn after a short cooldown? Maybe they'll even respawn after the current mission is complete or at the start of the next mission?

If this was a thing in the game, I can already see myself using my secondary character as bait for the enemy ai in a mission.

I like the idea and it would definitely give more purpose to having a secondary character.

Ideally, 200% health would be sufficient I reckon. 100% would be too weak and 300% would be too overpowered (Merryweather NPC's during Headhunter as an example). I think a small fee of say, $500 - $1000 could be paid if the character we aren't using at the time dies. The idea was that it takes place in a session specifically tailored to using two characters, so really a cooldown isn't necessary.

I should add that, to give us a rough idea when our characters are weak, the same flashing effect could occur just like in SP when one of the protagonists is weak. Allowing us to switch to them and take over and hopefully save them :p

Smooth Longsack

I'm all for complexity and deeper layers of strategy. Let's do it.

This could be a thing tbh

If Rockstar really put some time and effort into it, I definitely think so too.

Where do I sign?!

I'd love my two characters to kick ass together without crappy photoshopping or dodgy video editing.

Ditch the SP character wheel from online because we've got a menu to quit anyway, and replace the wheel with an online character swap thing.

In addition to what has already been suggested, what about some kind of interaction between characters? I'm not talking full on "Hot Coffee" but more like basic actions such as some of the team winning actions. High fives, fist pumps, hugs, hand shakes, waving, kissing, etc. Mainly to make the character we aren't using more dynamic so they're not just standing there doing nothing.

Edit:

I have also added some suggestions mentioned to the main post on the first page :)

Why not?

ehm, Witcher had some "hot coffee" moments. Fahrenheit had. Mass Effect had. GTA cant have one? realtime cutscenes with subtle montage. thats it. I would see it as a bonus cutscene after coop mission.

generally it would make sense to create a relationship between those characters - mixing dating mechanism from IV with crew mechanism from TLAD.

This would actually be a good idea for Valentine's DLC. "The Unholy Union" DLC ;)

Honestly though, I'd settle for just being able to share properties and cars and/or the option to not share a bank account.

Since Rockstar said at the beginning that GTAO will be an MMO, maybe we will be able to select what class or role you want your secondary character to be as while they are accommodating you. For instance, if you want them to heal you, then they'll be able to supply you with snacks and armor when you happen to be low on those things. If you want them to be more of an aggressive role, then you could make them be a tank. They'll have an MG and a Minigun as well as a lot more health and armor. Basically, options like that. for our secondary characters while they are our companion.

On second thought...i wonder how horrible it would work.

Ai as replacement of an other player barely goes well in general in games, and since i consider rockstar highly incompetent....

Before you know the extra character in ai form would just be completely useless but be responsible for 2 times the amount of enemy NPC's spawning in.

Edit: i think it is a great awsome idea(daydreaming now of using both characters during a heist)...but the implementation could go horrible wrong.

All rockstar has to do is give our AI character the same bullsh*t accuracy that these CEO mission based enemies have. Problem solved.

Basically, our health with a constant BST for an easy example :p Edited by REXX

^Well since it's your second character, if you equip it while playing as him/her and then switch back to your first character, he/she should continue to use it.

That's assuming that's how REXX's idea works when it comes to custom weapon selection for AI characters.

Now I can't get the image of two characters "celebrating" on the win screen after a race out my head.

Character 1 drinks all the green juice.
Character 2 has no green juice to drink.

Yeah. It could work. I like it. :)

You've got a point. Actually I can see it.

Rescue <insert character name here> from the Professionals.

Upon being rescued, that love moment comes along.

Perhaps different situations have different interactions?

I really do see it :D
