Stellasin
I have GTA V on PC, Retail Version with all latest DLC's. I have a problem. My fps is 45 - 50 for 15 seconds and then it suddenly goes down to 15 - 20 for 15 seconds and again it comes back to 45-50. It keeps happening every 15 seconds all the time. Is there any fix for this? I'm running the game at very high settings. My Specs are:- AMD FX-6300 4.1 GHz CPU Gainward GTX 750 Ti 2 GB GPU Kingston HyperX Fury 8 GB RAM Samsung 128 GB SSD (Operating System) Seagate 1 TB HDD (GTA V is here)
REDDICE
playing on very high graphics and on i assume 1080p? I'm pretty sure you exceed your 2GB of video ram - which lead to very bad performance and massive frame dropsI suggest turning down your graphics or resolution - look at the memory bar when adjusting your graphics
JamesTheCat
Exceeding the VRAM bar by a little amount is ok. But if it's exceeded by a noticeable amount that could be issue causing the fps drops. And I would recommend doing these tests as well, 1) Turn of in game Vsync and try turning it on via Nvidia Control Panel. 2) Check CPU and GPU temp levels. Maryo_Nicle7
I'd suggest you to: 1.)Sett your DirectX version to 10/10.1 (optional) 2.)Sett your Texture Quality to High or even Very High 3.)Make sure that Triple Buffering is ON for global settings in Nvidia Control Panel 4.)Like someone said above, do not exceed the VRAM limits, try to keep the settings down and make sure the VRAM Usage bar is orange not red. Well I basically tried everything possible already. I kept the lowest settings possible and still I have the same issue.
ILoveSparrows
I've been having a similar issue. However, I happen to be running a GTX 1070 which leaves me with more than enough VRAM. On the current (rather high) settings I use about 3GB of available memory, but I still get an FPS drop down to 45 every now and again.
