Cant join friend on Xbone party or lobby ?

Hi,

 

A friend of mine has recently moved up to xbone from 360, problem is we cant log into a lobby together. She shows up as off line to me and i show as off line to her even though we are both online.

We have friended each other, send invites etc but nothing turns up.

Under friends on GTAO list, other friends who are on line show up, others who are off line are asleep, other friends from back in the day on 360 dont show up. they have a message saying to come back to see their profile when they have played GTAO more. This is the same for my friend who has just come onto xbone.

Is this the reason we cant join up, does she need to get some more time under her belt before we can play together?
