Car randomly catches fire and blows up ( Vehicle stealing mission )

sorry about not having any HUD in the video but I recorded this with rockstar editor ( cant record with other applications because the fps goes way too low ). I dont know how to show the ingame HUD while recording with the editor.

 

anyone has a solution for this ? happened to me 3 times today and twice the last time I was playing ( 3 days ago )

You don't have a HUD so hard to say but usually that happens when the lobby splits, or when you've stolen a car off another player and they quit.

 

However I've had a car destroyed before I even left my office, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah this always happens after someone leaves. I'm guessing that is a lobby split ?

 

also is there a way to record HUD with the editor ?

I've never really got into the editor, sorry.

 

I'd guess if just one person leaves then that person was the host, and the migration causes the destruction.

Well, I'm just going off what other people have said and what I've seen happening to myself. The car I was stealing would catch fire and instantly tick up to 34k damage if one player joined and instantly left my otherwise empty public session. Happened several times under the exact same circumstances and people have reported the same thing happening to them. So what gridl0k said seems accurate.

 

Not really any way to prevent it from happening if it works the way we think it does. Unless you have some method that gives you a 100% guarantee that NOONE will join your session.

That said, if it's somehow possible to keep a public session "private" but still have at least one friend in, this could probably be prevented.

I actually had this happen during the 'Prison Break - Station' setup. I was on the cop team and finished blowing up the car. I requested my car and after about 10 seconds of driving towards the apartment, the car just randomly caught fire and was destroyed.

 

I did have that spicy burrito just before taking off. lol

I contacted support and sent them that video and some screenshots and here's what I got

A bit odd, considering it's about a car instead of crates and by all accounts it looks like a "feature", not a bug.

Don't see why they would start giving out money to people who fall victim to the game working as intended.

I was gonna drop them a line too actually, seeing how I've lost over a mill just from the "spawn outside but can't drive" bug. Will see what they say about the cars I've lost in flames as well.
