Force Empty Sessions patched?

I am laughing a bit at R*, they built a mesh network with minimal C&C and then not only does the game have its highest ever user numbers more than 3y after launch, a percentage of the player base are actively hostile towards the mesh.

nb mesh, p2p, whatever, idgaf

OT - 'forcing an empty session' is indistinguishable from "being on comcast"

"Being on Comcast."

Boy, do I know that well....

isnt a net-limiter a "special software"?

Sounds like it. I'm not familiar with it but I choose not to mess around with that sort of thing. Aren't there safer ways of affecting your connection? People have mentioned downloading things or setting the MTU to a lower amount, etc.

As far as I know Net-Limiter is basically not any different from downloading things, it just does it in a c

What do you mean by "special"?

I don't use it (I just use Windows Firewall) but netlimiter doesn't tie into GTA in any meaningful way and can be used just to basically force your connection to be of poorer quality.

It's described as a traffic-shaping utility.

Did you quote me by accident? Because "I'm not familiar with it". Just making sure.

Working flawlessly, low mtu for complete alone session or low QOS limit to empty a lobby and revert so my friends can join in.

If anything R* know that a sizable percentage of players create solo public sessions and that's why they added the chasing NPCs for I/E sales if you're in a lobby alone. Like "ok, we can't stop you, but we can make sure you consistently earn less".

banned people almost never admit cheating. and they always find the dumbest reasons to excuse their ban.

This is true for everything.

I work for a major company loyalty program and a member wanted the promotioan bonus points awarded for completing a given task. He argued that he had 11 interactions within the year and should get the bonus. But the promo stated a member needs to have a transaction at each of our 11 brands. He only visited 6 and one wasn't eligible because the transaction did not meet the requirements.

Also, he never registered for the promo, so even if he had done it right he still wouldn't get the bonus.

I explained why no bonus was being awarded and his reply:

"This is BS. You expect your members to read the fine print? This is deceptive and I feel ripped off! Your company will lose more customers because of this!"

There is no fine print. The terms and conditions on the registration page clearly explain what needs to be done and how to do it.

Dude fuc*ed up and refused to accept he was at fault, it was our insistence that a person READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING IT that was the problem.

...oh, of course...

yes, to make this clear:

i or anyone else have NEVER said you can be banned because of forcing an empty session with the known tricks.

it was a theory, because the two banned guys said, the only "evidence" is they made an empty session.

i actually dont know how they made this, even if there could be another circumstances for that.

Actually I asked about it and they said yes, you can get banned.

I don't think it would be impossible to detect if slowing down the net is intentional (if it happens only when you are in a full server and only slow the net down until you get disconnected and connected to an empty lobby)

Also they can monitor the chat.

And who would this "they" be? You asked Rockstar employees or someone else? If you say you asked a Rockstar employee, please provide some proof.

If you asked someone else, they're probably full of it and have absolutely no evidence that anyone ever got banned for emptying a session or keeping it empty.

I've been in a forced solo lobby (MTU / date change) since CEO crate fetches became a thing. I NEVER play in a public lobby with others and if I feel like doing things like races, death matches or Adversary modes I launch into an invite only lobby before I start.

If I were to be "banned" for forcing my own solo public session I'd be cool with it. It would be the icing on the cake for a player like me. I'm not using mods (on PS4), I'm a legit day one player with only a handful of millions, and I play the game daily. If I'm to be punished for simply not wanting to play in a lobby of try hards that's cool, I won't play. I'm still confused as to why this sh*t can't be done in a private session. Just set the value of your sales on the number of people in the session. 0 gets you the minimum and increase the bonus for every 5 people after that.

I welcome the day they ban me for something like that...id have more free time to spend playing the guitar.

Seems like your friends are just a bunch of liars and you got no proof of it being otherwise.

I think this topic should be locked until you or anyone comes with proof of your theory being true because this is just a useless thread in its current state that is serving no purpose.

it was through a support ticket and they said lagging out of sessions (with alt+enter bug) might get you banned. If you want a screenshot, could you hint some good free image storage?

So that doesn't state anyone actually got banned for that.

..... that is serving no purpose.

...except to needlessly rile up players. Agreed.

I still use the "Set system time ahead>kicked to my own pub->set system time back" method. Was working flawlessly last night. Hoping it's not true.

You spoke from my heart, man. I feel exactly the same.

I do not want to be banned, but if that idiotic decision happens, I wouldn't give much sh*t to it at this point. It'd free me a lot of time.

I configure my "empty-public-lobby" through firewall settings - no issues here (on PC) so can't confirm anything. did my I/E on my own - closed the firewall-settings - invited friends for CEO-crate sales and biker stuff - all good here.

Please come back when you have something more substantial than mentioning two random people blaming bandwidth for their ban.

Thanks!
