Force Empty Sessions patched?

i read today in another forum, that two guys are be banned while i/e.

im waiting for more details, but they said they have a "slow bandwidth",

wich they use to make empty lobbys. but only this cant be a prblem?

 

i asked if they used the known tricks, f.e. disconnect lan, net-limiter, port-blocking, etc

could it be, that R* have since the small update yesterday improved this "scanning"?

It'd be a dumb move by R* to ban people for the simple fact that they can't be bothered to deal with the annoying griefers or even hackers (if you're on PC).

 

But then again, we're talking about Rockstar.

It would probably lead to a ban if you use an external program that influences GTA5.exe such as cheat engine or trainer or net limiter.

 

If I'm downloading something in the background, that takes up the whole bandwidth so I can't keep a connection to a public session. It don't mean I should get a ban for it.

At the very least it should disconnect you with the message "Failed to determine a host. Joining a new session..." like before.

I played in a forced empty session just earlier today, and I haven't been banned yet. If they were to ban me for wanting to play in peace, then I guess I won't be playing their game anymore.

They can't. You've read something that's not true. There's only 1 method I know of that they could patch as it's a bug in their own game. All the others could happen for legitimate reasons so they'll never be "patched" (not the right word, but you know what I mean).

Yeah, but this happens when it fails to make an empty session (when u wait to long at disconnection).

When this done right, you are in an empty session but not forever. players will join from time to time.

 

i think the problem could be, when you permanently lower the bandwidth to stay longer alone...

I am laughing a bit at R*, they built a mesh network with minimal C&C and then not only does the game have its highest ever user numbers more than 3y after launch, a percentage of the player base are actively hostile towards the mesh.

They did say that the highest users online was in December yet they're still f*cking over every-day players:

- Spawning NPCs after you when you export vehicle cargo alone

- "Patching" the Kuruma method for Heist grinders

- Fixing the usual methods to create a clean session etc.

There's a lot of things they can get away with but just try to imagine the digital sh*tstorm caused by players worldwide if news spread that they WERE banning people for bad connections - regardless of wether it's made on purpose or not, like with the MTU setting. That might be one of the things they can do to actually lose a substantial amount of otherwise loyal customers.

Noone in this thread so far stated outright that they believe that Rockstar is banning people for having bad connections. People have just been talking about the hypothetical situation and dismissing it as unlikely because it would be a very silly thing to do, to make an understatement.

I just tested lagging myself out via the time/date method, worked fine for me.

Okay so you have trouble reading. That's okay. Let's try a little exercise! Point out to me exactly where the OP said that they believe people are getting banned for this.

 

Before you start on your homework, I'll help you out a little. See the questions in the post? The part that says "I read" but that didn't include "I totally believe this is real!"?

Here's another one for you.

Does that mean I now automatically believe the world is flat? No. It just means I read it somewhere. yes, to make this clear:

i or anyone else have NEVER said you can be banned because of forcing an empty session with the known tricks.

 

it was a theory, because the two banned guys said, the only "evidence" is they made an empty session.

i actually dont know how they made this, even if there could be another circumstances for that.

Wrong yet again. There's a difference between attempting to find out if this banning is real and just saying it's real and we should all be quaking in our boots.

And ironically the most pointless post in this whole thread is your last one. Good job, keep contributing to threads this way.

 

To the OP: like another poster already said, those two guys probably got banned for something else. People tend to lie when they get caught doing something they shouldn't have.

Alternatively they're not lying but just confused. Perhaps they were doing something not allowed by Rockstar for some time but never got banned for it. Then it does happen but it coincides with them making a public session empty and they THINK it's that instead of their actual "crime". Chances are they never considered that their actions would eventually cause them to suffer unpleasant consequences and they try to look for an answer in something else.

 

Long story short, people shouldn't really be worried about this stuff. If you're not using any special software or anything and your connection is just bad (again, on purpose or not), how could they possibly tell? It'd be foolish of them to start banning people for that as there would be such a huge negative reaction to it they'll miss out on a lot of money when they next release a non-free product.
