BLOOD
Take-Two Interactive just acquired Social Point-developers of Dragon City, Monster Legends, World Chef, Dragon Land- for $275 million ($175 million in cash,$75 million in stock and $25 million in bonus) now diversifying into mobile gaming, mainly F2P, and that was 3 days ago (as of my writing) so while we are here talking about The Benz, Take-Two Interactive will be making $100-200 million in added revenue every quarter and it will less depend on GTA, and 2K Sports. BLOOD
Social Point will be bringing in $$$ when Rockstar Games and 2K (including 2K Sports) are having tough times. Excellent strategy and diversification (I am sure Social Point will have studios under it in near future). And Thanks for the Thread. Here:http://www.pocketgamer.biz/news/64974/take-two-acquires-social-point/ http://www.pocketgamer.biz/news/64974/take-two-acquires-social-point/ Note: I have a feeling some Rockstar and 2K studios will be consolidated or a wild reorganization to get use to this new business venture. LegacyKillaHD
Honestly, I wish Rockstar was independent like CD Projekt RED, nothing against Take Two but I feel they force Rockstar to do things that they don't wish to do. For example, Yan2295 recently said (via his Inside Source) that Rockstar planned to end GTA Online big updates a long time ago BUT good ole Take Two needed the consistent cash flow. Honestly, this could be good or bad news in the long run guess we'll have to see... Ivan1997GTA

Meaning layoffs and consolidation of studios. Good: Great Strategy play and focus of Newer growth-driven ventures meaning Rockstar and 2K can make online-focused console games or newer IP. Bad: Take-Two absorbs the Rockstar and 2K labels (a la EA last year reorganising itself completely) Side Note: CD Projekt may soon be acquired. (GTA Online, bla bla) but it literally is rockstar has nothing to do with this acquisition No sh*t? The point is: Free2Play business is one hell of a cash grab. Microtransactions all up the wazoo. One could think that the individuals responsible for GTA Online's sh*tty Shark Card business are Take-Two and not Rockstar. So, in this case, neither the Housers or Leslie had any fault at what happened to Grand Theft Auto. (Or at least not entirely their fault. This situation gets more confuse each day.) Spider-Vice
That makes no sense at all. CDPR is making the bucks being independent. They're their own distributor, publisher, and developer. There's CD Projekt, the publisher, and RED, the studio. BLOOD
Another Good News: After Pokemon Go success, mobile gaming was the go to. Plus now, Take-Two Interactive via Social Point can make new mobile games that can be big hits even surpassing the success of Social Point's two biggest IPs. Plus Rockstar can take all the years it want before making/releasing a new GTA or Red Dead. They're their own distributor, publisher, and developer. There's CD Projekt, the publisher, and RED, the studio. If Take-Two Interactive were to ever acquire CD Projekt/RED they will continue their culture and structure just like Rockstar Games and it Studios, and 2K/2K Sports and it Studios. And unlike EA will not shutdown the studio in few months or a year after buying them. Even now that they own Social Point, most of their revenue will still be coming from Rockstar Games and 2K, Social Point will be doing it own thing while bringing in added revenue. @Noclue_42 Take-Two Interactive: $4.6 billion in market capitalization aside, they have $1.2 billion in cash, $400 million in Free Cash Flow. Plus they finance this acquisition with $175 million in cash, $75 million in stock, plus founders are eligible for another $25 million in cash and stock with now till 2019. BUT THE BENZ
yeah if my main moneymaker were to go down the drain I'd start looking for other ways to keep the cash coming in too...and people still act like the benz was just 1 dude out of 1000...well, even TT know better than that
BLOOD
Social Point is now their third publishing label (division) after 2K, and Rockstar Games. It will focus on mobile games which it derives 90% of it revenue, be headquartered in current location-Barcelona, Spain-and continue to growth it business organically and inorganically (buying up other mobile game developers).
