I don't think that hard or manage my money but I always wait for 25% off (or more).

Wait for discounts, don't buy stuff I don't need immediately (like buying a 60-car garage when I have no cars to fill it up with, unless they're 50%+ off), have fun with the game so you don't turn it into a job that you aren't getting compensated for IRL.

Play around in LSC/Benny's until I find what I like, then exit the game, and then put the specific upgrades I want.

Oh look, they announced a new DLC. Let's make some money with the current one before the new one comes out.

Oh look, a new DLC came out. Better buy almost everything it has.

Oh look, now I'm broke.

etc. etc.

Seriously though, because of the biker stuff I went from 8mil to 80k. Then there was that +25% bonus on CEO crates so I filled the large warehouse (111 crates) in less than a week, in which IRL I was productive as a dead dog nailed to an armchair.

Went from 80k to 10 mil in like a month.

Then we did the Criminal Mastermind Challenge before Import/Export came out and ever since then I've been above 20mil with no intention or interest in spending them.

But I did spend the 25mil I made from vehicle cargo.

I'm pretty average here it seems. I have a number myself I always keep (50mil) and I'm working on to lift that number to 100mil. A couple times I passed that but everytime then some new stuff arrives. I try to buy on sales but here and there I can't resist and press "kaufen" :) That's my main account. The other ones try to keep or even reach 10mil.

Frugal for sure. I only buy cars after I've done some research and tested them and I only buy properties after scouting the location. No point in being a big spender if it's going to be a waste of money anyway.

My personal strategy is to save 5/10million in reserves depending on play time. Fill special cargo warehouses to 79% to avoid theft and leave them reserved til an update drops, do the same with vehicle cargo. (Consider these legit 'adder bonds')

I see a few people saying to stay out of free-roam but I'd say the opposite as this is where I earn most of my money. I usually 'grind' (as some would put it) until I reach around 15million then slow down the pace and do other things (I occasionally go on holiday up to Paleto bay to relax :) haha)

As far as spending goes I usually just buy what I like, no I do not own every item in game but I do own most of what I want. The only thing keeping me from buying more things is the crappy pegasus service :(

Voted a bit of both. I used to cap at $40 million. Didn't like going below that. But recently I upped it to $60 million. I don't really like buying things I'll never use, but some things were a purchase without even hesitating like the Itali GTB or X80 Proto.

while I think about most purchases so long , I sometimes do have moments of "spending sprees",especially when I do like the vehicles in question ( like a new Pfister or some custom versions ) ...

so it s a mixture of frugal and Free&loose ....

Bit of both, though I don't mind spending my last penny.

I often wait for a sale and only buy cars that I will never sell. But when a new update is out, I will buy pretty much everything that unlocks something new to do. I do make sure I have at least 20M saved when a new major update is released.

seven sins.

Of course. To each his own, I guess, hopefully you won't fuel the flames of the next banwave thread, though. Hope you accept the consequences of the acts you proudly announce.last ban wave was modders only

also rockstar never mentions money glitchers in posts about bans these days. i think it's because they represent too great a % of the player base

even if i get banned this games life is almost over anyway

Frugal: After paying full price for everything in the Heist DLC, then watching R * put everything on sale for 25, 50% I very rarely pay full price for anything, the only thing I've paid full price for recently was the Retro Comet.

I like to spend on things, but I do like not going under an amount. So I tend to grind and grind money before an update.

Clothing-wise, I'll just buy what I want not caring how expensive it is, unless it's more than 100k, which is when I'll choose what looks better. Like the race suits or the Deadline suits, for example. If it's about buying a car, I do everything possible to look info about it, even if it's from the commonly hated youtubers. Then I test it on creator mode. Thanks to creator mode, I didn't spend money on the ItaliGTB out of curiosity. I'm way too stingy when I'm looking for an apartment to buy, because I want everything to be convenient for me. Location, violence outside, views, price, etc.

One thing I've gleaned from real-life is to be conservative with money in the game.

While I have plenty and don't really need to worry, I continue to avoid spending frivolously, being frugal on certain vehicle upgrades (ie, no xenon lights, ever!), and avoid exorbitant expenditures like Benny's.

I enjoy trying new vehicles, though, so my basic rule is that to buy a new one, I have to sell an old one.
It works, but it's still painful to dump $2-3 million into a car, only to sell it off for $843,202.

Anyhow, I voted a bit of both. Nice topic, OP. cheers! :)

i save lots of millions between dlcs, but if there is something i want, i dont think twice before transfering the money and buy.

my bank still healthy enough, so i dont have to worry about spending 2-3million on a few cars or on a single car!

I'm having the same internal debate about buying an FMJ. I already have a Tempesta that I love, and I really doubt I'm going to collect all the supers anyway, so I've been hesitant to pick up the FMJ because I don't know if I would use it much over the Tempesta. I am thinking about buying the Rocket Voltic though because it looks fun as hell and is more unique than a cookie-cutter supercar.

I maintain a 30mil reserve but I like to keep a healthy 10mil above that for general spending. If my balance drops below my reserve I suspend all noncritical spending and focus on rebuilding back up to that mark.

Anything over 500k I'll typically wait for a sale before purchasing. I don't mind waiting a month or two for some things.

I review my reserve total every few months, taking into account my current total balance, spending since the last review, pricing trends of new content, and what content is anticipated or expected in the future.

Why do people think that RDR2 is gonna replace gta? It's way too different. The biggest difference is time periods. In what universe do you think you'll be tearing up dirt roads in a buggy like you can in gta? No sir, people will play both.

For a while I didn't go below $10M for anything, I just did jobs until I had enough to buy what I wanted.

Now that I have everything I want I've just spent about $10M on the cars that I've had my eye on for some time but didn't bother buying earlier. I am quite frugal most of the time but I'll happily have a splurge when I feel like it.

I don't worry about spending money blowing people up, and won't think twice about doing it. I buy things when I want too.

But, I'm still a bit of both. I set arbitrary amounts that I don't like to go under (usually the bar is raised as I earn more, or lowered if I plunge a load of it). Think it's maybe a bit of an OCD thing or something.

I often see people saying on here that if you're a day one player and aren't filthy rich then you're doing something wrong but I never have huge amounts of spare money because I only grind when there's something I want.

Yeah, spot on - I'll only focus on making money if I have something to spend it on, to the point where if I need to resume selling I/E cars I normally have to do Headhunter first to get the $20k startup money.

It also helps that I don't bother with anything ridiculously expensive - until the double VIP money week when I nabbed the Hydra, the most expensive thing I owned was the Besra (including property!). I bought my first supercar when the Penetrator came out, and bought my only hypercar when the 811 was recently on sale below a million bucks. Yeah I'd like a T20, but no regular car is worth multiple millions of dollars. The Rocket Voltic was kind of a ripoff, but it's uniquely hilarious so it was worthwhile earning the cash (when there was an I/E bonus at Xmas of course, so it only cost me $1.4m worth of effort).

I do tend to try out the new moneymakers in each expansion though - I bought an office mainly because it meant I didn't have to resist spending that million in my account, and the crate warehouse was good for a few hours of playing about to recoup the investment before I gave up on it as really unfulfilling. The MC clubhouse was bought solely for extra garage space but I didn't buy any of the factories because they sounded like crate work again. I was hesistant to spend the huge amount on an I/E warehouse but I'm glad I did - it's varied, pretty optimal just playing solo, rewards good execution, and earns well for the time spent. With $18m made (and all spent) I still haven't even seen every mission type in I/E.

Looks like i'm part of the minority then!

Made 2m, pissed it up the wall on the maze bank tower office (pointless as I now realise they are all the same inside) but it was on offer 50% off so why not!

Spaffed my last remaining 1m on turning my Elegy into a Skyline last night, now i'm a broke ass bitch
