How to take a photo leaning against a vehicle?

I've come across a number of photos taken in GTAO in the later pages of this thread http://gtaforums.com/topic/609005-gta-online-screenshots-show-your-character/ where the character is leaning against a vehicle.

My question is, how do they do it? I've been unable to find any reference or mention of it anywhere.

Further to this question, can anyone point me to a comprehensive guide to photography in GTAO? The official Rockstar documentation is severely lacking in this respect. I see people taking some amazing photos, clearly not taken via the phone/Snapmatic app, but how they do it is very secret squirrel.

Thank you

Two ways:

1. On pc with animation modifications. Rockstar used them themselves in some DLC promotion photos. (since they are in the game but not unlocked)

2. Firetruck (requires another player)

Stay next to the car, or on the car and let the player in the firetruck shot you so you start to ragdoll, while you record it.

It requires some luck but you can get cool positions with this.

It's no secret. It's called Rockstar Editor. Record game footage and edit it.

As for leaning, it's a mod.

I think those pictures are taken on the PC and the leaning animations are done using mods (or in some cases, playing with camera angles and the existing animations that can be done using the interactive menu)

What i do to take pictures is recording gameplay using the rockstar editor, then editing camera angles in the editor, then i hide the timeline and everything (after zooming in, positioning the camera and using effects if needed) and i take a screenshot, you can take a snapmatic by pressing square (ps4) but the quality is low.

Not very detailed for sure but hope this helps.

So it's exclusive to PC? That's a shame since I'm on PS4.

It's interesting how Rockstar are showing favoritism to some players by permitting them to mod GTA Online and not banning them for it.

They are not using the animation mods online though.

On PC there are two ways to get them into SP.

First one, obviously mods and the second and better way in my opinion in using the Director Mode and going to Actors > Online which lets you choose your characters with your current outfit.

Edit: Apologies for posting almost the exact same response as above ^^

As for mods on PC, they are allowed in Single Player and this includes Director Mode. You can use your online character in Director Mode so strictly speaking you are not breaking any rules.

For PS4 a lot of unique poses (including leaning on cars) are simply done using the ragdoll method as suggested by Cratoz. Simply running and jumping into your car so you trip over will even create a pose if you are lucky. You need to review your editor footage to see if anything good comes out.

My experience with the Editor is limited to messing around in Director Mode, solely to fly the jumbo jets (because I can't get any of my cars for some reason). I've never actually recorded anything. I'll have to give it a try to see what options there are.

^That sounds like far too much trouble for what it's worth.

Thank you all for the info.

Yes, unfortunately you cannot use your online vehicles in Director Mode. You can only spawn vehicles that belong to Franklin, Trevor, or Michael. If you want a particular vehicle you will need to buy/steal it for one of the character's and store it in their purchased garage. Although none of the latest DLC vehicles can be bought in single player so it's not that useful.

Rockstar should allow us to use our purchased vehicles and properties in the director mode as well as those actions that they use themselves in screenshots.

I was lucky enough to glitch some of my online vehicles into SP using Trevors lockup method. Don't think it works anymore, but glad I have my most used online vehicles in Director Mode :D
