Don't buy the cargobob

Yeah it's easy enough to find through regular map spawns, but I won't deny that I much prefer my spiffy looking Jetsam bob :p

Solid Scorpion

Isn't the Chinook (which the bob is loosely based on) such a fast helicopter, that it has to slow down for its escorts? In fact, from the wiki- With a top speed of 170 knots (196 mph, 315 km/h) the helicopter was faster than contemporary 1960s utility helicopters and attack helicopters, and is still one of the fastest helicopters in the US inventory. The CH-47 is among the heaviest lifting Western helicopters.

This is why I love the bob.

The Chinook is one of the coolest if not THE coolest cargo/transport choppers out there.

It generally doesn't need an escort due to it's sheer power alone. In and out of an LZ in no time with enough room inside to drop an entire unit.

Seeing one drop a unit off on a sheer cliffside or almost pulling off a loop at an airshow is an awesome sight.

And the age of her! My god she's a GILF!

I guess you can tell I'm a fan of the Chinook.

Well Hunter's got his thing for the Apache so I'm allowed my transport helo thing :)

I think others have said this, but for I/E, if you are doing it in lobbies with other people, delivery is so easy, there is no need for the increased risk of someone shooting you down, losing the car because of an ISP error, etc.

If you are alone, the four waves of NPC's are a major irritation/time delay. I have learned to get out of the car as soon as they spawn, run away from the car and take cover, with almost no loss to the vehicle. But taking out four rounds of NPC's with dead aim accuracy just takes several minutes, becomes monotonous, causes you to go through vests, etc.

To keep it fresh, I mix it up. Drive in public lobbies fly the car in solo lobbies. But that is because I refuse to do something over and over to the point of getting sick of it because it is 6% more efficient. As I have said before, I refuse to "grind."

So, to assess whether it is worth it, it really depends on your cash, how you play the game, and how many I/E you plan to do before you give it up.

My first delivery was a souped up Sultan RS with a bob i stole from the nearest heli landing site.
I build some elevation so as to not get shot by the low slung aimbots and when I thought I was high enough, i tipped the heli forwards to start moving and bam, the car detaches itself and falls upside down on the roof next to my warehouse.

Had to destroy it, lost my modification money and lost out on a potential 65k aswell.

Now i deliver solo driving the cars, I get about 10-15k worth of damage on average by the aimbot cars that keep spawning randomly on my route.

Give it another try, some lobbies are bugged which cause the CB to drop cars. Also, you can turn over flipped cars with the Buzzard or by CBing a wedge shaped car (T20, infernus, etc) if you want to save your sale.

On the 10-15k loss, look for a defensible space to park the car and kill the RS aholes. You'll spend a little in ammo but not 10-15K worth.

I always wonder how people get so much damage from the pursuing Sultans, when I'm doing a solo lobby sale and I don't feel like dealing with taking them out I just hit the freeway and fly towards the delivery location (you can use the freeway for the initial leg of all the delivery locations when starting at La Mesa) ignoring the Sultans. Most damage I ever get from them shooting me is 2-3k.

For the bob disconnecting, wish I had some advice, it's only drop a car once on me and it was in a public lobby with other people and during the barge source missions so the whole time I was flying back they were trying to pelt me with their gatling guns.

The car fell on the roof, I would've flipped it with another car if it fell on the ground.

I don't stop either. But when you're getting shot and you're driving fast enough to minimize it there's always the AI cars swerving or running the red lights or just randomly spawning in front of you causing severe damages to your sales. And some of my missions are in the rain so it gets even more difficult to flee the chasing kurumas without spinning around a corner and ending up stuck on a pole while getting shot to death..

I have both; I've never regretted my purchase of the Cargobob (being able to spawn it whenever needed), but I do regret buying the Jetsam only because I'm not aware of any practical functionality it has over the Cargobob.

My hope is that (maybe?) at some point some kind of feature might be bestowed by R* on the Jetsam that the Cargobob doesn't have, but I'm not holding my breath. That's why I bought it--thinking "what if..."

TL;DR: Cargobob = legit, Jetsam = money sponge.

I've got mad respect for her. Shame the bob doesn't really compare.

I don't think I'd have played I/E even half as much if I hadn't had a cargobob.

I personally have gotten a lot of use out of my cargobobs picking up my friends cars and leaving them on rooftops, on islands, and on my yacht.

Everyone plays differently, but with i/E, after Hydra & Buzzard, the Bob is easily the third best investment I have made on a vehicle. Again, if you want to drive the cars for the missions, it would be little more than a toy. But for those that use it and want to streamline cash made against time, it is indispensable.

I always find the Cargobob located at the airport, or at the desert airports, but I think it's smart to buy it incase you need it right away. You can only use that one helicopter to lift stuff so whats the point in not buying it?.
