Money bags dropped In front of me - What to do?

Greetings!

 

I just now sold a car in a mod shop, came out and there was a lot of shooting and confusion. I started running away from the action, and some person or car started dropping all these money bags in my path. By the time I was able to get away from this mess, checked and I had a little over 1million from these dropped bags.

 

What do I do now? I have over 2 mill genuine cash in the bank, I have a lot invested in the game (shark cards and play time, and I dont want to get a ban or anything like that.

 

Please advise.

Really don't mind them taking the money. I just don't need the hassle / embarrassment of a ban or anything like that.

just tell R*...their computer will detect when you received your windfall...you will be just fine \m/

Lol you made me have flashbacks of all of the threads on Rockstar Support with your thread op. You can make an attempt at contacting Rockstar Support to see if they'll remove the money for you or you can just spend it. A couple extra million won't get you much in this game so I doubt Rockstar cares enough to punish you for it. If it was like, ten's to a hundred million, then yes, they'll care.

 

tl;dr Keep or spend the money.

Thanks guys. Pretty new to GTA Online....... and there are horror stories out there....lol.

 

Trying to submit a ticket to R*........ this is done off the social club site, right? Seem not to be able to find where I actually fill out/submit a ticket.

Unless they removed the option all together, you'll need to go to Rockstar Support and on the side their should be a link that will take you to the page that lets you fill out a support ticket. Though, their support team seems to all have been replaced by robots. So, good luck getting in contact with a human.

Yup...I'm at that page, signed in, but cannot see where to submit a report. It says 'SUBMIT A REQUEST', but there is nothing to click on.

Using Chrome.

weird, try signing out then and click the 'continue without signing in' at the bottom right when you open the link again. When I click that it brings me directly to the ticket form, from there you can enter your email & username too.

Do not spend that money. Not sure how it works when it is mixed with legit cash, but Spending it can screw you up. Once you are on the support page, read some of the threads about being banned and pay close attention to the ones regarding money drops. Not worth it.

they would probably let you keep that money as it is not that a huge amount.

but to be safe you should report that to rockstar anyways to avoid the risk of getting banned.

imo since it sounds like his account is new he'd have a better chance of getting punished. If your account has been active for a long time and your balance, stats & rank look normal you won't get banned for recieving small amounts of money. If it's a new account though a million in moneybags could be a problem, he'll most likely get flagged as a cheater if it happens over & over so IMO he took the right path by report it to R*.

Thanks for all the replies/advice.

 

I posted about it in the Rockstar Community section, got a response, and eventually was able to submit a ticket - thanks FlacidJack.

 

I have heard back from Rockstar via a couple of emails, and as has been stated here, as long as the money is not spent and can be collected during their next 'sweep', I should be fine.

 

So how exactly does one avoid such a hassle? I game for pleasure and relaxation, don't mind spending a couple of real life bucks if necessary, but am way too old for this kind of mess.

 

What does one do??

sorry to hear that, I had a feeling contacting R* support would end in more questions than answers but I didn't want to get your hopes down since it's the only action you can take. If they didn't bother removing the money I wouldn't worry about it, if anything just save the ticket number somewhere safe in case anything happens. You did your part, there's no way to filter out cheated money when depositing it in the bank so it's not plausible to keep track of that until they choose to wipe it, if they even bother. (Unless they told you when it would happen)

 

No need to spend another real dime to enjoy the game IMO, that's for sure.

when rockstar does ban runs they usually ban people who made the money and take the modded money from the reviewers
